* ForbiddenZone: Wanderer's Cape is viewed by the Digimon as "contaminated" because humans once lived there. Falcomon was forbidden from going there when he was younger, but now he has no choice if he wants to cure his sick brother Ikuto.

* InterspeciesAdoption: This episode reveals that Ikuto was essentially adopted as a baby by Frigimon, who raised him and Falcomon like brothers.

Masaru and Agumon go off to gather some water from a river, but they get distracted with a splash fight. they take so long that Tohma and Gaomon go looking for them, leaving Lalamon to keep watch over Yoshino by herself. Ikuto and Falcomon take advantage of Tohma's departure to sneak into the cave and knock out Lalamon. They prepare to kill the defenseless Yoshino, but Tohma and Masaru return in the nick of time. Ikuto prepares himself for a fight, but Yoshino grabs his wrist and tells him he needs to stop. This skin-to-skin contact infects Ikuto with the virus, and he collapses.

Falcomon panics. He kicks up a dust cloud to blind the [=DATS=] agents while he escapes with his sick partner.

Picking up where the previous episode left off, the episode begins with Yoshino suddenly collapsing in a dead faint. Lalamon checks her temperature and confirms that she's at 104 degrees Celsius: a very high fever, as Tohma notes.

!! Japanese Title: ''The Ally is Falcomon!? Intense! Blossomon''

Picking up where the previous episode left off, the episode begins with Yoshino suddenly collapsing in a dead faint. Lalamon checks her temperature and confirms that she's at 104 degrees Celsius: a very high fever, as Tohma notes.

The group relocates to a nearby cave so Yoshino can rest and Tohma can try to diagnose her illness. Masaru is annoyed at being forced to wait outside, to which Gaomon reminds him that Tohma is a licensed medical practitioner. Inside, Tohma has figured out that Yoshino has contracted some sort of virus unique to the Digital World. He needs to create a vaccine to treat her, but he has no idea what he could possibly use to do so.

* {{Bizarrchitecture}}: The mansion at Wanderer's Cape is upside down, hanging from the lip of an overhanging cliff like a stalactite. The inside of the building is oriented right side up, however, so the [=DATS=] agents are walking on the floor and not on the ceiling.
* BreakThemByTalking: Blossomon tells Falcomon that Merukimon is displeased with him for helping humans and has marked both him and Ikuto for death. Blossomon is lying through his teeth, but Falcomon takes his words at face value and is rattled by them.
* CombatPragmatist: Ikuto and Falcomon are perfectly willing to sneak into the cave and murder a defenseless Yoshino while her companions are away. The only reason they don't go through with it is because they get caught in the act by a returning Masaru and Tohma, and then Yoshino unwittingly infects Ikuto with the virus, forcing Falcomon to retreat.
* DeaderThanDead: Falcomon bitterly explains that his and Ikuto's guardian, Frigimon, is "no longer with us". Tohma immediately comments on the seeming impossibility of that, since to his knowledge Digimon always revert to Digi-eggs when destroyed and so cannot permanently die. He gets a DeathGlare for his trouble.
* DeadpanSnarker: Gaomon gets the chance to make some quips at Masaru's behalf. When Masaru angrily demands to know how Tohma can have a medical license when he's the same age as him, Gaomon bluntly replies "He's smarter than you".
* DivingSave: Masaru saves Falcomon from Blossomon's attack by tackling him out of the way.
* DragonWithAnAgenda: Gotsumon's goals start to deviate from Merukimon's in this episode. He secretly goes against his master's orders and helps Blossomon set a trap for the humans at Wanderer's Cape.
* EnemyMine: Falcomon reluctantly teams up with the [=DATS=] agents so they can all go to Wanderer's Cape and get the vaccine needed to cure their respective friends.
* ExcellentJudgeOfCharacter: Masaru gives Falcomon the only ampoule of the vaccine and tells him to run while he and Tohma hold off Blossomon, trusting that the little bird won't stab them in the back. His assessment of Falcomon's character proves spot-on: when they get back to the cave, Lalamon informs them that Falcomon administered the vaccine to Yoshino first and left without a fight after giving what was left to Ikuto.
* FindTheCure: Yoshino has fallen ill from a mysterious digital virus, and Tohma and Masaru must travel to a dangerous location to obtain the vaccine which can cure her.
* FoulFlower: Blossomon, the MonsterOfTheWeek, is a malevolent Digimon who looks like a giant flower.
* HumansThroughAlienEyes: Agumon doesn't understand the concept of human sickness and needs Gaomon to explain it to him.
* InstantIllness: Yoshino transfers the virus to Ikuto by grabbing his wrist, and within seconds he becomes too sick to stand.
* {{Pixellation}}: An unusual example. Yoshino's eyes turn pixelated as she suffers from the effects of the virus. As her condition worsens, the pixel effect spreads to her whole body.
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: [=MachGaogamon=] punches Blossomon so hard that the latter smashes through a wall and falls out of the mansion.
* RiddleForTheAges: What was on that computer that the protagonists found in the mansion? They'll never know, since Tohma wasn't able to crack the password before Blossomon damaged the computer beyond repair.
* WindFromBeneathMyWings: Falcomon creates a powerful wind by flapping one of his wings, kicking up a dust cloud which allows him to escape from the cave with Ikuto.
