* BrokenRecord: The doll commercial Jet watches, his monitor gets up glitching with the doll saying "Come and get me" over and over before he manages to shut it off.
* CorruptCop: The police that kill Hakeem, doing so to keep Spike and Jet from getting their bounty.
* DeathByAdaptation: In the original anime, Hakeem survived the events of his episode, merely being arrested when he ended up crashing into a police station after a chase. Here he's shot dead by corrupt police to keep Spike and Jet from getting their bounty.
* HopeSpot:
** Jet manages to get the doll for his daughter, but on the way to going to back up Spike against Hakeem, it ends up damaged before the point of recognition. Likewise he manages to find a store that sells one afterward but is 1,000 Woolongs short to get it.
** Our heroes have Hakeem cornered and even managed to get him to give up willingly and peacefully. The bounty is in the bag...and then he gets shot dead by police.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Spike threaten Vicious over the phone to back off pursuing him. When Vicious doesn't relent, Spike shoot at him with a ''sniper rifle from afar'' and somehow manages to graze Vicious cheek.
