* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: Kevin and Lana get a bottle of fairy water from a shop in a town. In ''Dragon Warrior'', that item would keep away monsters for a while. In ''Captain N'', however, it can be used to do things like unlock a cursed item someone's wearing. The Cursed Necklace is also a real item in ''Dragon Warrior'' that you can't take off, and Fairy Water most assuredly '''won't''' get rid of it.

* ContinuitySnarl: The Sun Stone, seemingly the artifact from ''[[VideoGame/DragonQuest Dragon Warrior]]'', is apparently used to generate energy for everything in the Palace of Power. In the game, however, it had to be combined with another item to create a bridge to Dragonlord's castle.
