* BullyingADragon: The brothel vamps are not the brightest bulbs in the shed. They either don't recognise the Slayer or deliberately get in her way when she visits their nest, nearly getting killed right there. Then they assault her boyfriend, which would guarantee horrible vengeance. They have the brief sense to clear out of the place now that she knows about it, but then they ''go looking'' for the Slayer in revenge, despite them obviously being non-combat vamps used to willing victims.

* CreatureHunterOrganization: Major Ellis assures Riley that they're not like the Initiative. They've not interest in experimenting on dangerous demons, only killing them.
* CurbStompBattle: Eight vampires enraged at Buffy for shutting down their brothel. One Slayer. She wipes the floor with them and when she gets her hands on a quarterstaff they're dust in all of fourteen seconds.

* LaserGuidedKarma: Spike [[BreakThemByTalking breaks Riley by talking]] about how nothing can be worse than being physically intimate with Buffy, yet not having the key to her heart. In Season 6 Spike finds out exactly what that's like, and [[FetishizedAbuser worse]]. Also, Riley scares him by staking him with a fake-wood staff.

* [[NeverGiveTheCaptainAStraightAnswer Never Give The Slayer A Straight Answer]]: Justified; Spike doesn't explain why he wants Buffy to go with him, as she'd likely throw him out the window as promised.

* TooDumbToLive: It takes a special kind of stupid vampire to not only pick a fight with the Slayer, but to pick up a long broken-off piece of wood to fight her with.

* VillainHasAPoint: Spike revealing Riley's affairs to Buffy were out of line and he clearly didn't think about how to go about it in a way that would spare Buffy's feelings. He's also right when telling Riley that he couldn't have kept it up forever and it wasn't fair to Buffy.

To be fair, this is really all Riley's fault, yes Spike exposed the truth but the truth was all Riley, so he was kind of right when saying that he wasn't the one who got him into this, it was Riley's own fault.
