* AnAesop: The episode's moral seems to be "competition isn't inherently bad, but it's important not to take it too far," hammered home at the end by Batman and Green Arrow admitting that they got carried away trying to outdo each other.

The cold open is a veritable who's who of the Green Lantern Corps.
** The attempted prison breakout features a number of villains, including Grodd, the Mad Hatter, Clock King, King Tut, Felix Faust, and Kite Man.
* TheChosenOne: Merlin predicts Batman is the one chosen to wield the Sword in the Stone, much to Green Arrow's irritation. Ultimately, he can't pull the sword free and neither can Green Arrow, but they can do it together.

* ContinuityNod: Gorilla Grodd is still in human form from [[Recap/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBoldS1E2TerrorOnDinosaurIsland his last appearance]].

* MadeASlave: Jason Blood and Etrigan under Morgan. And Etrigan used to be Merlin's before that.

to:

* MadeASlave: {{Facepalm}}: Merlin in response to the heroes continuing to argue, even after saving the day.
* IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight: While fighting the transformed Batman, Green Arrow keeps trying to reason with him. It finally seems to work when Green Arrow is dangling off a cliff, but Morgan appears to keep Batman under control.
* IgnoredAesop: After a frustrated Merlin sends them back to the present, Green Arrow concedes that he and Batman are too competitive and says there's nothing wrong with being tied (especially since claiming Excalibur required them working together). Upon learning of a bank robbery, though, Green Arrow resolves to beat Batman to the punch and break the tie. Batman's narration concedes this is entirely juvenile and unbecoming, but he's all in all the same.
* LoopholeAbuse: According to Merlin, no form of sorcery can prevent TheChosenOne from claiming Excalibur. Morgan le Fay demonstrates, though, that nothing can stop her from remaking said chosen one into a slave that will claim the prize and hand it over to her.
* MadeASlave:

** To claim the sword, Morgan transforms Batman into a red-clad knight under her control.

* NotSoAboveItAll: Batman can be just as competitive as Green Arrow; he's just better at hiding it (most of the time).
* OhCrap: Green Arrow and Merlin, after Batman is transformed into Morgan's slave.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Batman when turned into Morgan's slave, to match his new armor.

* SkewedPriorities: In the face of Batman being turned into Morgan's slave, Green Arrow continues to grouse about being overlooked and says he could just as easily be TheChosenOne.

* ThisCannotBe: Morgan over Batman being free of her spell.

* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: Morgan in her dragon form goes up in a spectacular burst of light, with no body left behind. Neither Batman or Green Arrow comment on the fact they apparently killed someone.

to:

* WhamLine: How we learn Morgan's right-hand man isn't any normal mook.
-->'''Morgan le Fay:''' You know what you must do, my pet.\\
'''Jason:''' Jason Blood lives to serve.

During the middle of a routine foiled prison break, Batman and Green Arrow are summoned by none other than Merlin himself to save Camelot from Morgan le Fay. The two heroes must battle her brainwashed minions, a demon, and their own competitiveness.

!!Tropes:
* {{Bowdlerization}}: The chant used to make Jason turn to Etrigan is taken almost entirely from the comics, but leaves out the line about the "prince forever damned".
* {{Brainwashed}}: Jason Blood and Etrigan, and later Batman himself, thanks to Morgan's sorcery.
* BullyingADragon: In the teaser, Guy Gardner learns the hard way not to taunt the tiny prison, and even less so to pour his coffee on him.
* CainAndAbel: Morgan has taken Camelot over from her brother, King Arthur, and plans to kill him.
* TheCameo: The cold open is a veritable who's who of the Green Lantern Corps.
* TheChosenOne: Merlin predicts Batman is the one chosen to wield the Sword in the Stone, much to Green Arrow's irritation.
* CompositeCharacter: Morgan is said to be Merlin's pupil who's betrayed him, which is usually Nimue, who is (at least in DC's version of events) an entirely separate person.
* CueTheSun: The skies go dark when Morgan finally confronts Bats and Green Arrow, and instantly becomes sunlit the minute she dies.
* EvilBrit: Morgan le Fay.
* MadeASlave: Jason Blood and Etrigan under Morgan. And Etrigan used to be Merlin's before that.
* NoOntologicalInertia: All of Morgan's spells stop the minute she dies.
* RhymesOnADime: Etrigan speaks in rhyming couplets.
-->'''Etrigan:''' When will you mortals learn? A demon's fate's not your concern!
* ScaledUp: In classic evil witch tradition, Morgan turns herself into a dragon to kill Batman and Green Arrow.
* TakenForGranite: The fate of King Arthur and his knights under Morgan. In her dragon form, she can breath fire that turns anyone it hits to stone, including Merlin and Etrigan.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Batman and Green Arrow bicker endlessly, but do respect one another. It's just they argue a lot. Eventually, Merlin gets so fed up of it he just zaps them back to their own time rather than put up with any more.
* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: Morgan in her dragon form goes up in a spectacular burst of light, with no body left behind. Neither Batman or Green Arrow comment on the fact they apparently killed someone.
