Ede Valley is your average, everyday suburb just outside of the City. It's got everything, neighborhoods, parks, libraries that double as dragon hoards, private schools run by megalomaniac scientists. Wait a second...

In truth, Ede Valley is home to almost every strange person you can think of. Witches cast spells to ace math tests, mafia heirs build their empires on illicit supernatural substances, and daemons run pubs and make deals with mortals behind the scenes. It's a town of strange rituals and unearthly beings, and no one... really seems to notice all that much.

Instead of a chapter system of storytelling, Ede Valley is rather a series of short stories divided into "arcs," much in the same way as manga and anime. So far, there are two completed major arcs and several minor arcs. The major arcs are:

# Ede Valley Arc
# St. Adelaide's Arc

!!Tropes:

* AbusiveParents: Tommy's Dad [[spoiler:He choked his son by his neck with his belt, leaving permanent scars. Later that night, Tommy ran away from home.]]
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: Almost said word for word in the charges the police want to arrest Lilith for. Instead it's arson, destruction of government property, and jaywalking. She [[ITakeOffenseToThatLastOne took offense to that last one]].[[WronglyAccused She never jaywalked in her entire life.]] [[EveryoneHasStandards Only idiots pulled shit like that!]]
* [[spoiler:Atlantis]]: [[spoiler: The legendary Lost City and the continent it used to be on become a major turning point in the series. It was lost to the sea thousands of years ago. Along with it, a [[CosmicHorror terrible]] [[SealedEvilInACan force]] was sealed away also. But maybe not for [[VaguenessIsComing too long]]...]]
* AuthorAppeal: Nearly all of the male cast, apparently.
* TheBGrade: The grade that ThePerfectionist straight A student Cindy Miller gets in her science class. [[spoiler: Her perfectionist obsessions hit a boiling point when the grade can't be changed. In a fit of anger, she smashes a bottle of acid on her teacher's head, melting his face off, killing him.]]
* BadassBiker: The Talons (Lilith, Yumi, and Magdelina), an all-female gang of teenage delinquent hooligans. Their actions have made them the stuff of legends and playground rumors for local children that want to be like them.
* BoardingSchoolOfHorrors: St. Adelaide's school in a nutshell. Described as "Juvie for rich kids", being isolated from the rest of the town. Most of the kids here come from troubled backgrounds and have strange quirks. The architecture looms ominously like it's watching your every move, The "Director" of the facility only speaks through an intercom with a creepy distorted voice, the faculty members are dressed in lab coats and seem to always be observing students, and when students are called in for "treatments", they disappear and wind up on a bench in the hallway not wanting to talk about the ordeal.
* {{Chuunibyou}}: St. Adelaide's student Gil Trenton believes he has magical powers and that he is a reincarnated magical warlock. Everyone around him just humors his delusional fantasies. [[spoiler:He plays up the delusion bit so that no will believe that he really is a reincarnated warlock. He made people think he was crazy so he could go to St. Adelaide's]]
* ClosetGeek: Mike Miller really likes PC games and {{Mecha}} anime, not that he'll be open about it. His time at St. Adelaide's make his nerdy traits more visible, notable his awkwardness and extensive research.
* CosmicHorror: [[spoiler: The Truth, an Eldritch Abomination that possesses dreadful knowledge of the universe that can {{Mind Rape}} those who encounter it and [[DrivenToMadness Drive people to madness]] ]]
* CosmicHorrorReveal: Just a small town with strange inhabitants and weird phenomena? [[spoiler: well on the outskirts of town at the boarding school someone is researching a otherworldly horror that can break people with cosmic knowledge. ]]
* CutAndPasteSuburb: All of the houses in the suburbs are described as looking exactly the same.
* DealWithTheDevil: [[spoiler: Cindy]] makes a deal with Cowell after [[spoiler: she accidentally kills her science teacher with a bottle of acid when she freaked out of a B grade he gave her. In exchange for her, "subjectivity" he made it so that her teacher never existed so no one will ever know.]]
* EverytownAmerica: According to WordOfGod, Ede Valley is said to be vaguely located somewhere in the Midwest United States. And it's got all the trimmings of small-town suburban Americana. But the locals are anything but ordinary.
* ExtraordinaryWorldOrdinaryProblems: Most characters are still human and deal with everyday problems even with the more fantastic elements of the town.
* ForScience: [[spoiler:This is the motivation for both Victor and his experiments and Abby's research. Neither of which care about ethics or moral constraints. This is even uttered by both of them when the latter reveals who she really is to former]]
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: Mr. Lucius Marcell, history teacher at Ede Valley High School. He's cranky, but overall pretty nice when you get to know him.
* HellBentForLeather: The Talons are described as leather-wearing, boot-stomping badasses that "Don't take shit from The Man" (AKA {{Moral Guardians}} and parents)
* IdolSinger: Jilli Nakajima, a former one. She used to be part of a J-Pop group, and insists she's [[FormerChildStar "only on ]] [[RoleEndingMisdemeanor hiatus..."]]
* ImmortalityBeginsAtTwenty: Marcell looks 20 even after centuries due him being a vampire
* ItAmusedMe:[[spoiler: the sole reason why Abigail, the Director, torments Doug Bailey. She doesn't get the results she wants from her experiments. To vent out her frustrations, she takes sadistic pleasure in torturing Doug just for shits and giggles. She likens him to a stress toy]]
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Despite living in the Modern age, teenage bodyguard Lila carries one around to protect Niko.
* KidSamurai: Lila, more accurately teenage samurai (age 17).
* TheMafiya: Niko Borozov is heir to the Borozov crime family.
* MultiPartEpisode: The climax of the "St. Adelaide's" arc is broken into a mini-trilogy titled "Holy Shit the Climax is so Long I had to Split it into Multiple Parts" (Parts I II and III respectively).
* MundaneFantastic: None of the oddities within Ede Valley are particularly hidden per se. While there are surprised reactions to the out-there elements of the town, most people approach the strangeness with an unfazed, indifferent attitude.
* MundaneUtility: Apparently, there is a magic spell that can help you pass a biology exam.
* MysticalWhiteHair: Doug Bailey. Stark white staticky hair. [[spoiler: His hair turned white after being subject to science experiments at St. Adelaide's. When he first saw himself with hair he laughed hysterically]]
* TheNapoleon: Jilli is rather short yet she has a temper that can range from TranquilFury to HairTriggerTemper, especially if you mention her [[BerserkButton former idol career]]. She also carries an air of authority around her.
* MythArc: The series is split into "Arcs", modeled after an Anime format.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Cowell, he's a [[SpellMyNameWithAnS daemon]]. Not from Heaven nor Hell but from outside our realm of existence. He's an EmotionEater as well as an AbstractEater who can take abstract concepts from people (ex. subjectivity, loyalty, etc.) While not pure evil, he is still mischievous, cunning, and enigmatic as you'd expect from a daemon.
* OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: Mike Miller. Average kid with a normal upbringing. The only reason he goes to St. Adelaide's Academy is because he was randomly selected in a lottery of other local town kids. When compared to his more remarkable peers, who are basically a ChildProdigy DysfunctionJunction, him being TheTeamNormal makes him stand out
* PopCulturedBadass: Lila, a skilled swords-woman, is a proud fan of old, samurai action movies.
* ProductPlacement: Red Bull, Wendy's, Netflix, and Starbucks have all been name dropped a few times. There are so many Starbucks' in Ede Valley it's been joked that they are all arranged in a pentagram.
** Also in-universe, Aunt Marma's Totally Genuine Maple Syrup(TM) and related products are frequently mentioned.
* TheRunaway: Tommy.
* RidiculouslyAverageGuy: Mike Miller is about as ordinary as you can get. Though ever since he dormed at St. Adelaide's, a school of full quirky students, his averageness actually makes him stand out.
* ShoutOut: Doug Bailey's favorite song is Reliant K's [[https://youtu.be/Ryy-QK2A8hM "The Scene and Herd".]] He can be heard reciting lyrics to the song in his first introduction and then later throughout the series.
* SmallTownBoredom: A town where [[NothingExcitingEverHappensHere nothing ever happens]]...or so it appears that way...
* ScholarshipStudent: Mike Miller won a scholarship to St. Adelaide's Academy after being randomly selected in a a lottery...one that he didn't sign up for. He decided to go when he saw how happy his Mom was.
* SdrawkcabSpeech: [[spoiler: the blue ghost light that follows Sonia around attempts to speak with her while she is half asleep.]]
[[spoiler: '''Ghostlight]]:[[spoiler:''' You saw Atlantis]]
* SitcomHomageEpisode: Every episode of "Meet the Jamesons", complete with a LaughTrack, a Fourth Wall Mail Segment, [[AdBumper Ad Bumpers,]] and [[ParodyCommercial Parody Commercials.]]
* StepfordSuburbia: The seemingly-ordinary idyllic All-American suburb-look is entirely surface level
* {{Suburbia}}: The titular Ede Valley. Crosses over into StepfordSuburbia territory.
* TownWithADarkSecret: The town of Ede Valley is full of strange inhabitants, (Russian gangsters, a teenage witch, a a boarding school of weird kids, a vampire history teacher, etc.) but there's a great unknown menace underneath the surface...
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: For Niko, it's pancakes. It's one of the few foods he knows how to cook.
* UnwittingTestSubject: [[spoiler: Students at St. Adelaide's get experimented on, usually involving exploiting trauma in some way]] [[spoiler: Doug Bailey frequently get tested on. He endures electro-shock therapy and has a bracelet on his arm that shocks him if he ever leaves the school.]] [[spoiler: Jilli Nakajima gets isolated in a padded room and is forced to listen to her own idol music on repeat, which reminds of all the abuse and an awful bandmate she had to endure working in the J-pop idol industry.]] [[spoiler: Buttercup was part of an experiment in the 50s to create a perfect human being when it was an insane asylum. It gave her vast near-omniscient perspective that could see the world down to its atoms but ate away at her humanity]]. But definitely one of the worst was [[spoiler: Mike Miller. After being drugged and dragged underground, he was slowly corrupted by an experiment similar to Buttercup's that gave him a perspective all of existence as meaningless and surrendered his humanity and human memories. He was renamed Nihil and became a superpowered enforcer for the Director.]]
* WarmBloodbagsAreEverywhere: Marcell has to restrain his vampire nature to prevent himself from drinking the blood of those near him.
* WeirdnessMagnet: Strange occurrences and residents that scale from science fiction to fantasy inhabit Ede Valley.
* VampiresSleepInCoffins: {{Double Subversion}} Marcell sleeps in a normal bed. He reveals however that vampires he knew from back in the day did sleep in coffins, because they believed it would "Bring them closer to the death they had lost"...He acknowledges how melodramatic this sounds.
* TheVerse: All of the short stories take place in a collective shared universe.
