* Chise is small and shy. She's clumsy and all her grades besides World History are below average. She says "I'm sorry" a lot. Her motto is "I want to be strong". And she's the ultimate weapon. A great war is raging across the world, and the JSDF has converted Chise into a powerful SuperSoldier that can wipe out cities singlehandedly. Her (boy)friend, Shuji, discovers her condition after she attacks enemy jets bombing Sapporo. At a young age, Chise is struggling with many things no teenager should handle; balancing her schoolwork and military service, protecting her loved ones from the horrors of war, killing enemy soldiers who have their own lives and loved ones, and gradually losing her humanity as she grows stronger as a weapon. Her relationship with Shuji is her main anchor to her humanity, preventing her from completely losing herself as a weapon. Unfortunately, as much as they keep trying to make their love work, war keeps creeping up and destroying their chances to live a normal life. Ultimately, Chise decides to stop the conflict by ending humanity, sparing only Shuji in her apocalyptic rainfall. Having fully converted into a mechanical being, she lifts Shuji up to the stars as a spaceship, for there is finally nothing that will tear them apart ever again.
* Chise rises higher in the cosmos. Earth is but a small marble outside her windows. Shuji is starving, and Chise is panicking for she forgot to pack any food inside herself and doesn't want him to die. Her holographic body hugs Shuji, fearful of the oncoming future where she will drift space all alone. Then, Chise saw a bright light nearby. The light approached her and engulfed them in a warm, blinding flash. The next thing she knew, she was back in her cyborg body, cradling Shuji in an unfamiliar land. A strange person carrying some groceries noticed Shuji's famished state and fed him some chips, which he quickly devoured. Was this heaven, Chise asked? The person said that they have found themselves in the Tropes Pantheon, not the afterlife, and that they could become gods should the Court of the Gods set their sights on them. Indeed, they have noticed her and her story and granted her a divine title as well as a permanent residence in the Pantheon for their world was too far gone to return to. After hearing they verdict, they cried tears of joy and kissed deeply, happy that they can live in peace with no war to ruin them. They are going to live.
* Chise was once an ordinary girl like any other. However, she was found to be the most compatible with a new weapon system the JSDF was making, so she was transformed into a living weapon and drafted as a soldier in the war. She is without doubt the strongest weapon they have in their arsenal, for she is able to destroy entire buildings and swathes of enemy armies in a single shot from her ArmCannon. Such a person would be highly desirable for plenty of unscrupulous groups and people in the Pantheon, but Chise has made it clear that doesn't want to do anything relating to war anymore and would rather live a quiet, peaceful life with Shuji. Sadly, she isn't the only one who was turned into a robotic weapon, for Claus and Raiden were given cybernetic augmentations and had their humanity cut away to serve wars as cold or bloodthirsty soldiers of war. Chise feels very sad that Claus had to resort to suicide to end his pain while Raiden cannot escape the eternal warfare that plagues his world, and while they cannot heal all their scars she can at least talk to them, listen to their stories and understand their pain and struggles. She managed to connect with them in a way that most others cannot, for in the end of the day they're all traumatized and broken people in need of a peaceful rest. Meanwhile, Chise feels bad Tom Berenson who was parasitized by aliens and dragged into war entirely against his will, as she can kinda relate to his circumstances. Chise also greatly pities the Last Son of Alcatraz for how the US Government took him and brainwashed him as a weapon to commit horrific atrocities in Vietnam and can't fault him for trying to run away from it all. She did try doing that herself, after all...
** While Chise still looks organically human on the surface, her insides have been changed from flesh and bone to metal and circuitry. With her cybernetic upgrade, she can fly with steel wings, blast armies with a large cannon from her arm and shoot dozens of missiles from her back. There's a very good reason why she's called the Ultimate Weapon for she's practically a OneManArmy. It's for this reason she got along well with Ichiro Inuyashiki, who was also suddenly converted into a cyborg, and she's happy to learn that he used his newfound powers to help others and be a true hero. She's not so approving of Hiro Shishigami who used his cyborg powers to terrorize and kill innocents, and his callous sociopathy horrifies her not only for how monstrous he is but also reflecting her fears of her losing her empathy. She sometimes visits SCP-191 to serve as comforting company, as she knows what it feels like to struggle with ones identity as either a human or a machine. She also befriended Bunnie Rabbot, who was similarly roboticized and was planned to be added to Dr. Robotnik's badnik army until her rescue. Hearing stories of Robotnik's campaign of mechanized terror automatically made him an enemy in Chise's eyes. Speaking of robotic conversions, she similarly loathes the Cybermen for their desire to convert other lifeforms into metallic drones like themselves as she doesn't want anyone to suffer her own fate. Lastly, Tetsuro Hoshino and Maetel greatly pity Chise as they have seen many horror stories of how mechanization and distort and destroy human values and empathy as see her case as yet another tragedy that has unfolded.
* If someone asked Chise what she wanted to be, a normal girl would be her answer. She would much rather want to live out her days in high school with her friends and boyfriend and not worry about bombs raining down on her hometown. Unfortunately, being conscripted in the army as a WeaponOfMassDestruction in a brutal, globe-spanning war means that she has no say in the matter. She knows that the soldiers she kills are also people with their own lives, dreams and loved ones, but when the fate of her country rests on her tiny, frail shoulders she can't run away from such a thing. Chise never expected to become friends with a giant robot, but the Iron Giant was truly a kind soul who held a kind affection for her like he did with anyone else. With how he was built to destroy planets yet hates being used as a gun, he could relate to Chise on not wanting to destroy and felt sorrowful that she couldn't have a happier ending in her world. Another reluctant weapon she befriended is Dizzy, who despite being a Gear is an avowed pacifist who'd rather not hurt anyone else. Dizzy lets Chise get to know her animal friends and her family, which Chise appreciates and enjoys. All in all, Chise is happy that she no longer has to fight in the Pantheon and can relax and breathe easy.
* As time went on, Chise changed. Her body grew stronger and more destructive while her humanity diminished. With the metal wiring replacing her flesh, her emotions and empathy get suppressed on more frequent intervals, becoming a cold machine that has no qualms about ending thousands of lives. Appropriately, Chise was terrified of who she was becoming, as not only is she becoming more of a straightforward weapon over time, her very identity was slowly being erased to the point she might as well be "Chise" in name only. Thankfully, Chise can feel that her heart still remains warm and large and not cold and hard in the Pantheons. One day, she learned of a man named Jon Osterman. A FreakLabAccident turned him into the omnipotent Dr. Manhattan, and while he initially used revolutionize and help the world, being above everyone else in every single way, from overwhelming power to seeing the threads of fate made him ever more distant from both his inner and outer humanity to which he eventually left the planet to no longer meddle in now insignificant affairs. Chise sees a lot of her in him, from gaining immense powers to being used in a war to a deteriorating humanity and eventually departing to space. Part of her is scared that she might've ended up like him and lose her love for Shuji, while she also wants to meet up and talk with him in person. Even if she's just as uninteresting as everyone else in his view, she still would like to hear what he'd have to say about her story.
* War is horrible, isn't it? A brutal, needless affair that destroys homes and kills thousands is nothing but a devastating, traumatic hell for everyone involved. Chise knows those horrors far too well, and the scars she gathered through those terrible days still linger in her mind, for she still can vividly remember the smell of smoke, blood and rotting corpses and harsh sounds like distressed screaming and explosive bangs ringing in her ears. It's hard for her to have a good nights sleep when she's taken back to those battlefields in her nightmares, and she's eternally thankful that she no longer has to fight in brutal battles ever again. Her time in the Pantheon had her meet others scarred by war, like Paul Bäumer who lied in the trenches of WWI, Flyora who saw Nazi atrocities at a young age, Joe Bonham who was trapped in his own body by a stray landmine, Violet Evergarden who lost her limbs and struggled to live like a normal person, Seita and Setsuko who starved among the flames raging across their country, and Jim and Hilda Bloggs who succumbed to radiation poisoning from a nuclear war. All of them hurt in so many different ways, yet are so similar in that war was the reason for their suffering. She got into their good graces through understanding that they all went through the same horrible path and they must move forward and heal bit by bit. Even if the scar on her chest will likely remain, Chise will move forward not on a blasted wasteland all alone, but on a grassy field with Shuji under a blue sky.
* Chise's experience with war left her absolutely abhorring it and wanting to do absolutely nothing it it anymore. As such, she's not only resistant to join any violent conflict unless her hand has been forced, she also loathes those who support such a violent and destructive institution. Because of that, she has no love for Sundowner who loves war so much he profits off of it and forcibly converts children into robotic killers believing them to be naturally cruel at that age. Hearing him praise her as a natural born killer and an apex predator made her feel like puking her guts outs. Chise is similarly disgusted with AM for being a supercomputer built for war who killed off humanity and left 5 alive simply to sadistically torment them for eternity. Likewise, Khorne and his adherents disgust her for their wanton slaughter and unending thirst for warfare and blood. She's also not fond of Jin Kazama for starting World War III to eliminate the Devil Gene. Even if he got better, doing such a thing still rubs her the wrong way. Lastly, she feels disturbed at Tanya von Degurechaff's behavior; while she agrees that war is horrible, her cruelty and ruthlessness on the battlefield disturbs her, especially since she looks so young. To her, Tanya is a reflection of what she could've been if she lost her heart to bloodstained iron implanted in her.
* In her world, Earth was trapped in a hopeless conflict. Every day, soldiers would kill each other while the earth slowly died, leaving there to be a dwindling amount of safe places for civilians to live unharmed. It's questionable if there would even be an end to the war, for the sheer amount of destruction turned the world into a ruined wasteland. After her first time with Shuji, Chise made the ultimate decision to put humanity out of their misery, believing that if there was no good outcome from the war, she might as well finish the job herself. This topic isn't one she's very comfortable talking about, as people will look at her weirdly for effectively committing genocide. Somehow, one person has done something very similar to what she'd done: Eren Yeager. Learning of the history of the world beyond his home island convinced him that the only way to free his people from discrimination was to kill everyone else, so he started the Rumbling to destroy all of humanity. While he ultimately failed, he still united what was left of humanity and put an end to an era-spanning conflict. Chise's opinion on Eren is very conflicted, for while she disagrees with his choice, she does understand why he thought it was the only option left, especially since she did something similar. Similarly, she does get Pain's plans to foster peace by making humanity never forget the horrors of war even if she doesn't like his solution of creating and unleashing weapons of mass destruction on a cyclical basis.
* With everything that she was forced to deal with, it was a miracle she held back from giving in to her weapon side and became a cold killing machine for so long. Of all things that she could hold on to, it was her boyfriend Shuji that acted as her anchor to her humanity and sanity. No matter what happened, her relationship with him kept her moving forwards and made her want to spend a future with him unbothered by war and death. She's very happy that she be with him in the Pantheon and not have to run away or worry about war arriving at their doorstep. She never expected to meet beings like Count Bleck and Tippi before, but despite their strange appearances she found out that she and Shuji have plenty in common with the couple than she thought, namely how Bleck turned to evil after Tippi was banished for their inter-tribal romance and how his plan for omniversal destruction stopped when they finally reunited. Bleck and Tippi express their condolences to the two for only being able to stay together after the world has ended. The two couples get along very well and still count their blessings that they're in a place where they can peacefully be together.
* Now that Chise can live a normal life, she decided to restart her school life by enrolling in the Elysium Academy. She missed the feeling of being a normal student, so she enjoys the feelings of walking down the hallways and eating on the roof with Shuji like the good old days. There are downsides like her middling grades and alarms triggering her PTSD, but overall she loves her new school life. Sometimes, she trips and drops her supplies on the floor, making her scramble to pick up her stuff while apologizing. It was one day when she tripped where she was helped up by fellow students like Mikuru Asahina, Tsukasa Hiiragi and Nagisa Furukawa. Turns out they were just as clumsy as her and wanted to help out a fellow klutz in need of help. The four became good friends and spend lunches together, help out on each others homework and hang out after school. While Chise likes them all, she's closest with Nagisa as she also has poor health and is in a relationship with a boy that had plenty of tragic roadbumps. Overall, Chise is happy to make new friends, as not only it enhances the new school life she lives it also makes her feel like a human being than a weapon.
* While walking home from school, Chise saw a poster on a ramen shop that was advertising a part-time job as a server. Seeing the poster made her remember when she was working at a ramen restaurant at a coastal village when she and Shuji ran away from home together to escape from the war. Curious, she entered the Mintendo Ramen Shop and applied for a job. In her new job, Min Min taught her how to cook many ramen dishes, take orders and serve them to hungry customers. One of the shops regulars, Naruto Uzumaki, tried out a dish she made and loved it, and she became very familiar with him as he visits the place on a weekly basis at the very least. Seeing the customers' satisfied and joyful faces as they slurp on the noodles and warm broth made her feel warm on the inside. Her new life has opened many new pathways illuminated with hope, and she's ready to face them all with a smile on her face and her boyfriend at her side.

A "Chroma" is a title for the adventurers of Phantom Brave. Multiple other characters who don't have Marona's ability, such as Sprout and Walnut, are referred to as Chromas.

* Marona is a Chroma, someone capable of summoning the spirits of the dead and give them temporary forms by having them possess objects. When she was a little girl, her parents and their employee, Ash, were killed by demons. Marona's parents used the last of their magic and a prayer to god to turn Ash into a Phantom, a type of ghost caught between life and death, so he can watch over their daughter. Marona, despite being one of the kindest people alive, is feared and hated by the people of her world for her powers, being called the Possessed One. Still, Marona is optimistic that people will eventually accept her, and over time, is proven right when she finally starts to make friends and find people who respect her.

* As a Chroma, Marona can summon Phantoms, so she tends to visit the House of Pantheon/{{Ghosts}} to search for allies. There she befriends Casper, Sayo, and Reimi, all of whom are friendly spirits who quickly agreed to become her allies when she needed help. She is surprised to learn that Danny Fenton is half-ghost, never once having thought that to be possible, but nevertheless becomes good allies with him as well.

* Nate could see, befriend, and summon mischievous spirits called Yo-Kai with the Yo-Kai Watch, making him similar to a Chroma. Nate is saddened to hear of what Marona had to go through in her world, but is also fascinated by her ability to summon Phantoms and have them possess objects. Marona is interested in Yo-Kai and wonders if Nate can lend her a Yo-Kai Watch sometime in the future.
