** In the UsefulNotes/SegaCD version of ''VideoGame/LunarTheSilverStar'', not only does TheHero, Alex, get every single MacGuffin and special ability, by the end of the game, all of his attributes (HP, defense, attack, magical power, and speed, and he can cast one of the healing spells) overpower everyone else in the party. Given the nature that individual abilities are spread out throughout the party (Mia wielding BlackMagic, Nash with ''only'' [[ShockAndAwe Thunder Magic]], Kyle as a [[TheBigGuy hard hitter]], Jessica as the {{White Mag|ic}}e, and, in the remakes, Luna casting weak StatusEffects) while Alex has all of that rolled into one, in addition to superior skills such as a HolyHandGrenade spell among others, this is pretty poorly spread. In the remakes, this is toned down somewhat.

* ''[[VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosForNintendo3DSAndWiiU Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS]]'' is no doubt a great title in the [[UsefulNotes/Nintendo3DS 3DS]] library, but when most fans think of ''Smash 4'', they think of the UsefulNotes/WiiU version released a few months later. A handful of players even (to varying degrees of seriousness) refer to the 3DS version as a "beta" for the home console version. Sure, it didn't have as many modes as the Wii U version, but it had one of the best exclusive modes between the two versions in the form of Smash Run, it's widely agreed to have the better ''VideoGame/PacMan'' stage (i.e. Pac-Maze over Pac-Land), and the fact that the core game is very much identical is proof of some impressive programming work that pushed the base 3DS to its limits. Plus, the failure of the Wii U means that most people probably only played the 3DS version. Finally, until ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'', it had the novelty of being the only portable entry in the franchise.

* ''VideoGame/ChicoryAColorfulTale'': This is the reason for Radish's rude attitude towards the other artists. No matter how much passion she puts into her own art, only the work of past wielders is showcased around the world. Pizza can try to make things up to her by sending her art to the gallery at Elevenses...[[FailureIsTheOnlyOption only for it to be both complimented and rejected, as the patrons care less about quality than the name attached]].

** This is most noticeable in the most recent expansion, Rise of the Rajas, which introduced four new civs. The Burmese and the Malay have both quickly grown to be powerhouse civs, while the Vietnamese are less powerful but still strong and possess a specific niche. The Khmer, in contrast, are much less commonly used due to some less useful bonuses and a focus on a much less powerful unit type.
** This has begun to happen with the water metagame as well, with previously acknowledged naval powerhouse civ the Vikings losing ground to newer civs like the Italians, Portuguese, and Malay, due to mechanical changes to the gameplay greatly increasing the use of a type of warship the Vikings lack access to.

** ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'' also has this happen a little, but mostly near the end, when you get Keyblades left and right. The Decisive Pumpkin and later Oblivion Keyblades are pretty much the InfinityMinusOneSword, and around the end, you get ''plenty'' of Keyblades from completing worlds or doing sidequests that are most easily completed around that timeframe...pretty much all of which are inferior to those two. The only one(s) that are better are the Ultima Weapon and some in ''Final Mix'', especially for the abilities.

Fixing grammar.

* ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsFromZero'': The protagonist Loyd and his HeroWithBadPublicity SSS get constantly overshadowed by the Bracer's Guild who constantly end up saving them, much to said character's frustration. This is fitting with the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsInTheSky previous game trilogy]] where PoliceAreUseless compared to the Bracer protagonists... and this time you are playing as said police.

You can't craft either carrots or sweet berries.

* Cookies in ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}''. While they were always a mediocre food item that had to either be crafted or bought, the big trade-off that made them useful was they were able to be carried in stacks of 16 unlike every other food item that took up a full slot each. With the big overhall to the hunger mechanic, where all foods were now stackable up to 64, cookies were left far in the dust. Even carrots and sweet berries, with their other uses aside[[note]]In addition to being sellable and craftable, carrots can be used to breed pigs while sweet berries can be used to breed foxes[[/note]], are ''far'' superior food items and can be grown quickly in vast quantities for next to no cost. The only reason they seem to even still be around is [[TheArtifact for the sake of posterity]].
