** [[spoiler:Toadette just randomly falling asleep ''in the presence of her mortal enemy'']] is a nightmare scenario in and of itself, but it's nothing compared to what comes next.
** Once Toadette fully enters [[spoiler:[[DreamLand Subcon]]]], it's immediately obvious that ''[[CrapsackWorld something is not right]]''; everything is ripped and torn up with the world dissolving away under her, rivers of lava are everywhere, and the background is haunted by a spinning red haze.
** Interactions with [[spoiler:Subcon]]'s own residents show that the hub area, which is as torn up as everything else, is ''the safest place in [[spoiler:Subcon]] right now''. The cause of it all [[spoiler:is the malfunctioning Dream Machine]] that even they are powerless to stop, so the survivors can do nothing but watch as their world fades to nothing.

*** SLEEP TIGHT...: [[spoiler:You don't even get the HopeSpot, you just end up in a dead end having to play [[JustForPun chicken]] with the Hawkmouth...]]
** Both routes end the same way: [[spoiler:the timer hitting zero and Toadette screaming. She wakes up a moment later... ''in a grave''. The worst thing is that on the SWEET DREAMS... route, she's surrounded by mourners, but on the SLEEP TIGHT...? Just one Toad (who looks like ''the'' Toad, for whatever reason) who merely seems to be passing by. Toadette then [[FissionMailed breaks out of the grave]] and continues onward, only to then be attacked by the Hawkmouth again ''out of freaking nowhere'', but fortunately this is where the nightmare begins to turn around and Toadette is allowed to fight it, later followed by the virus corrupting the machine.]]
