* The novelization is more chilling to describe parts like the werewolf's initial attack, the transformation, and it perfectly describes the terrible power and strength of werewolves. Unlike the movie, where the Wolfman would only attack those who tried to attack him, in the novel, he's depicted as a hungry monster with almost no restraints, attacking anyone in his path, and also unlike in the movie, he actually eats his human preys graphically. Not only that, but the ways in which he kills are incredibly brutal. At one point he turns a hunter into a red mist of blood and flesh in a matter of seconds, and in the London rampage he smashes two guys with such force that their pores burst.
** The Wolfman regenerates extremely fast to the worst injuries that are not caused by silver. You can't run, he is faster than you. You can't fight against him, he is much, much stronger than you. You can't hide, he can smell you or hear your heartbeats or breath. It's terrifying that we are completely defenseless against this monster. Damn, almost the entire novel parts (where the werewolves, the asylum and Sir John are present) altrough deep and very well written is NightmareFuel itself.
** Ben's death is horrific as you can imagine. The werewolf slash his low stomach so deep and fast that his intestines and blood are falling from the wound. Ben feels them, but he try to no think about it, despite he knew that he was slowly gutted, as he runs, or try to run despite his legs are becoming extremely heavy. After that, the werewolf rip him apart.
** The transformations... Oh my God, the transformations's descriptions are incredibly painful to read. At a point in the mausoleum, Lawrence scream/howls so strong for the pain, that the insects explodes, and actually, the floor breaks.
** Sir John is even worse at the novel, he clearly enjoys the power he has. In the gypsy camp attack, he actually devoured men, women and children, with a disturbing enjoying from blood. At a point he made an expression of extasy as a woman's blood splatter his face. And after, he bites Lawrence. The description of this is extremely painful to read, and at a point, Werewolf! Sir John rip off a piece of flesh and ate it. A piece of flesh from his own son. At the final battle, he says that he would be the alpha and basically conquer the world and kill people in all the countries of the world with Lawrence as "his pup". Not only that, but he also had plans to turning Gwen into a werewolf and make her his mate, even calling her "his bitch" at a point.
** In contrast with the movie,in the novel Gwen watch the battle between the two beasts transformed.
** In the novelization, as much as he deserves it, Sir John's death was terrifing. He's burning alive with macabre descriptions, and his lips are contracted by the heath, making his burning face seems to smile. After that, Lawrence's mind sees that he finally killed the monster that killed his mother and he is happy. After Sir John's death, Lawrence's werewolf form with the flames behind him is compared to look as an infernal beast.
** The Wolfman's physical descriptions and the things he does. A 8 feet tall humanoid monster, with powerful claws and jaws (even if the victim survives the bite, a werewolf's bit can easily rip off that chunk of flesh) with an extremely powerful mass of muscles which it's implied from hellish origins and their strength is so powerful that a casual tackle between two of them can destroy all the windows, metals, floor and wood by only the impact, and humans have zero resistance to their attacks. Film/VanHelsings werewolves (maybe with the only possible exception of Gabriel Van Helsing's werewolf form) are like puppies in comparison. Gwen thinks that those beast were by far, more powerful than in the books.

** The transformations... Oh my God, the transformations's transformations' descriptions are incredibly painful to read.
At a point he made an expresion expression of extasis extasy as a woman's blood splatter his face. At the final battle, he says that he would be the alpha and basically conquer the world and kill people in all the countries of the world with Lawrence as "his pup". Not only that, but he also had plans to turning Gwen into a werewolf and make her his mate.

* The novelization is more chilling to describe parts like the werewolf's initial attack, the transformation, and it perfectly describes the terrible power and strength of werewolves. Unlike the movie, where Wolfman! Lawrence would only attack those who tried to attack him, in the novel, The Wolfman is depicted as a hungry monster with almost no restraints, attacking anyone in his path, and also unlike in the movie, he actually eats his human preys graphically.

You can't hide, he can smell or hear your heartbeats or breath. It's terrifing that we are completely defenseless against this monster.

* The Wolfman chases Gwen through the dark forest for her scent like a hound straight from hell. Eventually Gwen is cornered between the waterfall and the hungry beast that clearly wants to eat her flesh and violently rip her apart. This then goes to heartwarming as The Wolfman appears to briefly recognize her and stops her killing intent. He then goes to Tear Jerker when Gwen puts him out of his misery.

* The scene where an institutionalized Lawrence Talbot transforms in front of a crowd and goes on a killing spree. The part where he impales the professor on a gate is particularly gruesome.

* Say what you will about the movie itself, but the werewolf effects are awesomely frightening. They took the basic concept behind the Wolf Man's design from the original movie, and they made it genuinely look like a vicious, feral beast.
* The opening scene, in which Ben Talbot is hunted and killed by a werewolf. Special mention goes to the shot of its claw as the wolf watches him run futilely into the church.
