* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4144 SCP-4144]], The Most Important Meal Of The Day, is the entire human concept of breakfast. Any time a person sits down to eat what they would consider "breakfast," they're teleported to a strange alternate dimension while a mannequin in their exact likeness manifests in their place. During this time the person falls into a fluid-filled sac and gets stabbed somewhere on their body. When they teleport back, their food appears eaten, their stab wound has been sealed with a brown liquid, and they have no memory of anything to do with the alternate dimension, instead, they remember having eaten a delicious breakfast. What's truly terrifying is that the samples taken from the dimension are made of the same materials as the inside of a human body, not to mention the [[PeopleFarms nature of what's outside those very same sacs]]. So the next time you want to enjoy the most important meal of the day, ask yourself this - are you eating your breakfast, or is your breakfast eating ''you?''

Sounds bad? It gets worse. Turns out the kids it kidnaps are forced to work to death in a cold and dirty sweatshop, "sweatshop", making toys out of ''[[HumanResources human remains]]''.remains]]''. While it's not known where this lair is located, the only witness account describes it as underground, freezing cold, and filled with tunnels and burrows where the children are imprisoned. The "toys" are given to the 15% of children that this thing leaves alone. If they the children stop working, they're next in line working for toymaking. And any reason, the Yule Man abuses them in increasingly horrific ways, including beatings, burns, mutilation, starvation, and finally, ''cooking them alive and eating them'' as a warning to the others. While the earliest known report is from the late 1400s, with implications dates back to Croatia in 1498, historical documents imply that the Yule Man may have has been active for far longer. How does the since ''1st Century BC!''. And how can The Foundation possibly know about this? Well, the details of what happens to the Yule Man's victims, since there are no known survivors? Because "no survivors" isn't entirerly true - one "toy", a grotesque doll made from a little girl, ''[[AndIMustScream was still alive]]''. She lived for about 18 hours in the hospital, long enough for her to give testimony to the Foundation, revealing what happens once the children get too sick from the abuse and neglect to keep working.

* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/SCP-4002 SCP-4002]] is a series of tales about Sumerian kings, culminating in Etana. In the ages before Etana, the kings reigned for hundreds of years at a time, and it's heavily implied that humanity had other supernatural properties too. Etana could not have children and traveled to the heavens to appeal to the gods for a solution. None would help him until he encountered a mysterious entity that was very clearly not a god. The entity offered Etana his heir, but in return, he would give up magic. Humanity's lifespans would shorten, the mythical creatures would die out, and the gods themselves would retreat from the world. But one day, it would all come back, explaining the extreme increase in anomalous activity the Foundation has to deal with. The deal would be over when humanity heard the [[ArcWords black moon howl.]]
* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4096 SCP-4096]], a "complex topological manifold" capable of flipping two sides of an established dichotomy - such as day and night, red and blue, and big and small - in a certain radius when activated by a person. What at the start seems like a vehicle for surreal BlackComedy, including things like infrared light implicitly becoming gamma radiation and a D-class crushed by their own wristwatch during tests issued by the O5 Council, gives way to horror when the anomaly starts spontaneously activating. And every time it activates, its area of effect becomes larger. The truly frightening part is when it flips silence and speech and spends several minutes ''pleading'' to no avail, as it is unable to be heard. Combined with its other spontaneous activations, all in a day, this paints a very unsettling picture: this reality-warping thing is sapient, it does not like being experimented on, and ''it wants out''. And as of the time of the document's writing? SCP-4096 represents ''the Foundation itself'', with the [=O5s=] being ''trapped inside the manifold'' due to it reversing contained and uncontained and the rest of the Foundation resigned to just leaving them there.

Then in the Addendums, it's revealed a fruit fly escaped into the banana world and started breeding, causing a worldwide plague and extinction as attempts to contain or exterminate the infestation failed. The Second Addendum is a diary from one of the inhabitants and describes in horrifying detail how quickly the flies spread.
-->''Everything is gone. The sky is darkened with countless carvers and the streets are littered with twitching bodies filled with the offspring of those vile creatures. These things just keep spreading and eating and spreading and nothing is slowing them down. Most of the military has retreated. There are still some copters far away trying to keep the infestation to Paris, but it's only a matter of time until they break through and devour all of France, maybe all of the world.''

SCP-4831-1 is a non-anomalous young man by the name of Tucker unfortunate enough to be trapped in this room. * [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4885 SCP-4885]] "Find Him" is another horrifying SCP with a silly premise, being a pale-skinned [[Literature/WheresWally Wally/Waldo]] without eyes. For one, it's a Keter-class entity whose containment procedures involve a bunch of complicated processes involving self-driving cars, drones, and specialized algorithms with as little human involvement as possible. The reason for all that automation? SCP-4885 has a nasty ability where it can sense whenever someone becomes aware of its location. It then proceeds to vanish into walls and teleport inside their body, forcibly and gruesomely tear itself out, and then leave the resulting corpse's skin covered with illustrations from the ''Where's Wally'' books. And when someone else learns of the victim's location, they also trigger SCP-4885's teleportation and vice versa. That ability alone loads it with all sorts of ParanoiaFuel, but it only worsens when you realize SCP-4885 is currently God knows where - it's only ''theorized'' to be contained in some unknown site that could be ''anywhere'' on Earth. SCP-4885 was discovered when a field team explored an abandoned house and one of them accidentally managed to learn of the whereabouts of "Wally." During the chaos, the last standing team member phoned the nearest site with their location, pleading for rescue. [[DisasterDominoes You can see where this is going]]. It gets to the point where a lead researcher has to perform a HeroicSacrifice by establishing the secret black site Location i to serve as a place where SCP-4885's victims go in a desperate effort to somehow contain "Wally" once and for all, hopefully becoming its last victim.
-->''"Recently, I was alerted to the apparent danger of SCP-4885 and the corpses that it creates. Sure, we have Procedure Invenient Eum, but there are presumably hundreds of SCP-4885-1 instances out there that we cannot contain at all, as even the O5 Council has stated that they do not know how to contain the corpses. Here's my proposal. I will require no D-Class, nor any help from anyone.''
-->''I will create an algorithm for drones and other machines to detect SCP-4885-1 instances, grab them, and deliver them to a specific location, which I will refer to as Location i. Location i, as far as any of you are concerned, will not exist.''
-->''This "Location i" will be known to no one except for me, and me alone. I will establish Location i in the algorithm that I have created, and I will allow SCP-4885-1 instances to be dropped off at Location i. Any of you that know SCP-4885's effect know where this is going.''
-->''Once Location i has been established, and the algorithm is up and running, I will exile myself to a location that, as far as any of you are concerned, will not exist. I will cast myself to the forests, and I will wait for SCP-4885 to take me. Roughly three days after I exile myself, activate Procedure Invenient Eum, and do not go looking for Location i.''
-->''If you're reading this and you're not an O5, then everything that I just said has already happened, and this proposal is a success. No need to pray for me. Instead, pray that you never find Waldo."''

The "toys" are given to the 15% of children that this thing leaves alone. If they stop working, they're next in line for toymaking. And the earliest report is from the late 1400s, with implications that the Yule Man may have been active for far longer. How does the Foundation know about this? Well, one "toy", a grotesque doll made from a little girl, ''[[AndIMustScream was still alive]]''.
-->''"When you can't make the toys, you become the toys."''
* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4735 SCP-4735]] is a standard surgery kit, along with a "preparatory liquid" and a set of anomalous scissors. The kits can be found in otherwise normal store shelves, and anomalously draw the attention of abusive mothers who hate their children, being marketed as a means to make children behave. The liquid is used as an anaesthetic to incapacitate the child, and the scissors are used to open their skull and snip away ''pieces of their brain'', basically giving the child an anomalous lobotomy. The added files include samples of an affected child's diary, chronicling his slow degeneration as his abusive mother uses the SCP on him over and over. By the time the Foundation raids the mother's house, they find a baggie in the freezer containing ''over half the child's frontal lobe''.
* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4823 SCP-4823]] starts out as the story of a cute alternate dimension full of living fruits and vegetables instead of humans, with the most prominent species being bananas. Then in the Addendums, it's revealed a fruit fly escaped into the banana world and started breeding, causing a worldwide plague and extinction as attempts to contain or exterminate the infestation failed. The second Addendum is a diary from one of the inhabitants, and describes in horrifying detail how quickly the flies spread.
* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4831 SCP-4831]] is a simple SCP that brings up a truly frightening situation. SCP-4831 is a bathroom that suddenly locked on its own [[MadeOfIndestructium and became absolutely impervious to all attempts to open or destroy the room]] as soon as SCP-4831-1 entered it. SCP-4831-1 is a non-anomalous young man by the name of Tucker unfortunate enough to be trapped in this room. The worst part is that the article has transcripts of his and his parent's realization of what happened and their futile attempts to open the door and [[DespairEventHorizon the mother and son coming to terms with the fact he is going to spend the rest of his life in there.]]
* While the last third of [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4950 SCP-4950]] takes a surprisingly well-executed turn into meme-fuelled comedy, the situation presented is still quite terrifying - a tiny cult with minimal resources intentionally summoning a [[ApocalypseHow potentially universe-destroying nanomachine god]] and ''nearly succeeding'' thanks to a loophole in how the required sacrifices work which was incredibly easy to exploit with common modern technology.

The article details the sanity slippage of the researcher who can perceive it, ending with him stabbing a co-worker with it and storming off. The writer of the entry then revealed in the discussion page that the anomalous effects of it force all but the person who discovered it to act as if the knife is a grand in-joke, chuckling to themselves and stopping conversations dead when it's brought up. effectively forcing everyone around its chosen victim to gaslight them into growing violent. It's not made clear if they're even ''aware'' that they're doing this.

That's not the scary part. When the Foundation first discovered SCP-4634, the signs were found in a collection of 128 large stone monuments scattered across the globe, on the ''inside'' of the monuments' doors. * [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/taboo SCP-4000, aka taboo]], an [=SCP=] whose very designation can't be told due to its strict rule-set. In short, the page refers to an extra-dimensional space holding a race of entities, highly implied to be the fae which were mentioned in other [=SCPs=]. The containment procedures require people to avoid talking or referring about it directly and never use the same description twice when describing any of the items involved with SCP-4000, lest [[BodyHorror very bad things happen]]. This framing paints SCP-4000 in an almost Alice in Wonderland-esque light, and it only gets weirder with the exploration logs, which depict a Dr. Japers and his encounters with a rabbit-headed entity. While the logs for the most part seem cordial, a slip up by Dr. Japers allows the rabbit-headed entity to effectively take his identity, stranding the former Japers in SCP-4000 while the new Dr. Japers is able to blend in seamlessly in the Foundation, despite still having a rabbit head. '''Taboo''' also brings another perspective to [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-001-o5 Bright's SCP-001 proposal]]. During the "War on the Factory", many of TheFairFolk fought on the Foundation's side, and only a few turned on the early Foundation forces. The Foundation's response was to commit ''genocide'' against the entire sapient species and erase their names, driving the survivors into what is essentially a refugee camp. [[WrittenByTheWinners None of this is mentioned in the "official" Foundation account.]]
Etana could not have children, and travelled to the heavens to appeal to the gods for a solution. None would help him, until he encountered a mysterious entity that was very clearly not a god.
Combined with its other spontaneous activations, all in the course of a day, this paints a very unsettling picture: this reality warping thing is sapient, it does not like being experimented on, and ''it wants out''. And as of the time of the document's writing? SCP-4096 represents ''the Foundation itself'', with the [=O5s=] being ''trapped inside the manifold'' due to it reversing contained and uncontained and the rest of the Foundation resigned to just leaving them there.
* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4144 SCP-4144]] is the entire human concept of breakfast.

Then [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4182 SCP-4182 sheds some light as to what this Site-5]] is, in iterations similar to SCP-2998 or SCP-2317. At first, SCP-4182 just seems to be some sort of memetic that causes documents to inexplicably make reference to the supposedly nonexistent Site-5, and whatever it is, it's apparently some sort of anomalous waste site, and what's supposed to be a camera feed but just throws an invalid file error. But then the page throws an error and tells you to look at a previous revision from 2015, peeling back more of the mystery: SCP-4182 seems to be an island with the aforementioned waste containment facilities sealed off for reasons unknown. Then you get ''another'' error, and another past iteration from 2002, [[NothingIsScarier with a further zoomed-in picture to build up the suspense]], and additional documentation explaining that SCP-4182 has a massive underground complex with...''something''; whatever it was, it warranted prohibiting further excavations of the site. Then you get yet another iteration from 1992, which finally shows the camera feed, revealing a pile of skeletons. These corpses came from SCP-4182, with analysis explaining that [[BodyHorror these corpses suffered some pretty nasty necrosis]], i.e. ''cells dying due to loss of blood supply''. After all of this, there's one last iteration of SCP-4182, which redesignates it from Keter to Explained, revealing that this was some sort of bug in the Foundaton networks' source code. The rest of the page is blank, so all is well, right? ''"You have (1) new message(s)."'' That "jdavis" person that the error messages have been telling you to contact? They send you an email explaining that actually, ''Site-5 is real'', and they show you a video tour of Site-5: A dark, abandoned facility leading down into the pile of corpses you saw in the previous iteration of the document. Davis ends by saying "see you there. ~:)" \\
\\
If you read the discussion, you'll see that the author, The Great Hippo, put in their own interpretation of Site-5[[note]]of course, they note that [[DeathOfTheAuthor you're free to come up with your own headcanon]][[/note]]: Site-5 was a ''genocide facility''. All those struck-out references to Site-5? People within the Foundation were trying to bring the Foundation's dark past into the light, and the administration just goes and says "it never happened."

* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4634 SCP-4634]] is a collection of "out of order" signs that, when placed on a doorway, cause rooms to cease their intended function. For example, placing an instance of SCP-4634 on a kitchen door leads to the kitchen's appliances to stop working, the utensils to bend out of shape, and ingredients to rot incredibly fast. That's not the scary part. When the Foundation first discovered SCP-4634, the signs were found in a collection of 128 large stone monuments scattered across the globe, on the ''inside'' of the monuments' doors. Removing the signs caused the entire universe to shift, with planets and stars alike changing their orbits, the asteroid belt fusing together, and the [[ApocalypseHow death of all life]], all in less than ''7 hours.'' Following this, a new set of stone monuments with a new set of SCP-4634 spontaneously appeared on Earth, resetting everything back to normal.
* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/SCP-4666 SCP-4666]] is a humanoid creature that haunts and stalks a family of its choice for weeks during Christmas season, culminating in it sneaking into their house, kidnapping the youngest child, and torturing the family to death. Sounds bad? It gets worse. Turns out the kids it kidnaps are forced to work to death in a cold and dirty sweatshop, making toys out of ''[[HumanResources human remains]]''.
* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4975 SCP-4975]] is a bird-like creature that has a habit of rotating its long neck to a rhythmic beat and making a clicking sound, not unlike the ticking of a clock. It stalks its prey for months on end, using its clicking to frighten them, and when the time comes to feast on them, it stops turning its neck to signify that time's up. 4975 also exists in two places at the same time, both within its containment cell and while being perceived by its prey, who are helpless to stop it. Finally, the page itself has a creepy quirk if you happen to be wearing headphones: after two minutes, [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou you'll begin to hear a clock tick]].
* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4955 The Knife]] is an SCP that takes the form of a knife that seems completely normal... to exactly one person; the researcher who first realizes it's in containment. Everyone else is mysteriously unable to acknowledge the knife, with it not even being the "official" SCP-4955 as far as they're concerned, and when it comes up in conversation they just go silent and snicker to themselves when the one person who can acknowledge it is preoccupied, even going so far as to not clean up any mess or even injuries caused by the knife.
* [[https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4991 SCP-4991]] is an anomalous period where several social networking sites spouted out posts which were referring to events that didn't occur in the first place. According to several posts from 4Chan, Tumblr, Reddit, and Twitter that somehow leaked in from another universe, the world has become overrun with ''vast'' swarms of flesh-eating bugs that turn into [[PuppeteerParasite mind-controlling parasites]] after [[OrificeInvasion entering the person's body]]. That being said, the posts that were shown from these aforementioned websites range from IDontWantToDie posts accompanied with photos showing the extent of the invasion, to posts sounding like DissonantSerenity to users [[DespairEventHorizon being resigned to death]] from all [[SanitySlippage the chaos that is happening in their world]]. So how does the Foundation approach in solving the BugWar? Well, since [[TheUnmasquedWorld they and several GOIs have their secrecy revealed to the public (with Deer College having a twitter account and Marshall Carter & Dark]] selling anti-bug bunkers for ''[[CrackIsCheaper 4 million dollars]]''), the SCP Foundation and the US government decided to form a joint-agreement known as The Securement Plan, which involves cooperation of several large nations and the production of expensive pesticides that can curb the anomalous insects. However, when they realised that it would take up ''90%'' of the budget, they decided to [[NoJustNoReaction step out of the agreement]], and for some reason [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere decided to disappear while the whole world gets overrun by those bugs]]. Understandably, this has led to several posts from social media networking sites [[WhatTheHellHero calling them out for this]].
--> '''UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump''': "Moor stepped out of the agreement. It's almost like when the "world is ending" he starts to get a bit antsy. Is Earth not good enough for you?" (Twitter)
--> '''edwardscissortoes''': "Saw a beautiful flock of birds fly over my town!"
--> '''the_ok_hippo''': *In response to the quote above* [[OhCrap Dude, those aren't birds]] (Reddit)
