* Beelzebub transforming into Satan is creepy because of how simple it is. No long transformation sequence, no skyward scream from Beelzebub, no black mist swirling around him. To his friends, it looked like he was just relaxing with them, before snapping and killing them in an incredibly brutal fashion.
* Another point for the humans in the creepiness factor, Leonidas' Spartan supporters are ''unhinged''. Lü Bu's men were simply cheering for their commander and then chose to join him in death, but the Spartans look like they are five seconds away from climbing in into the arena and tearing Apollo apart with their bare hands.

* Many of Brunhilde's {{Nightmare Face}}s or crude demeanor in the manga are as unsettling as they are funny and would give [[Anime/YuGiOh Dark Malik and Vector]] a run for their money. Thankfully, the faces are toned down in the anime.

* Chapter 49
** Just when it seems Buddha has won his match against Zerofuku and successfully redeemed the god, Zerofuku’s horns come alive and drill into the god’s mouth and chest. From there, two dragons push their way out of Zerofuku and wrap themselves around him, while Zerofuku is pleading for them to stop. Zerofuku is then transformed into the tall and imposing Hajun, who is basically the Devil of Buddhism.

An Axe To Grind is no longer a trope

* Zerofuku's weapon, [[AnAxeToGrind the Misery Cleaver]], match its owner in terms of creepyness. Apart of being extracted from [[BodyHorror Zerofuku's own body]], is shown to have [[EyesDoNotBelongThere eyes in the shaft of the axe]] ([[BodyHorror that apparently seem to be moving too]]) and is covered in a mass of black tentacles. The impacts from the axe are so destructive that they even manage to reach the seats of the spectators, a first for the manga. That is bad enough, but [[ThePowerOfHate its ability of absorbing the misfortune from Zerofuku]] allows him to transform the axe into stronger and bigger forms the more miserable he feels. By the end of the chapter, the axe grows to titanic proportions and develops six blades, being as big as the entire arena. Buddha is lucky to have [[LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe a shield able to protect him from the impact]], otherwise things would have ended there.

From there, two dragons push their way out of Zerofuku and wrap themselves around him, while Zerofuku is pleading for them to stop. Zerofuku is then transformed into the tall and imposing Hajun, who is basically the Devil of Buddhism. Buddha in particular is disturbed by the appearance of Hajun, as he could not see the future of the god.
** The god Beelzebub (one of the participants of Ragnarok) debuts in this chapter. His appearance is very brief, but what we can see on his room is anything but pretty, containing things such as malformed fetuses kept in jars, a decapitated human skeleton and a dog who lacks a snout and seems to have something black attached to his face, [[AndIMustScream who may be alive or not]].
* Chapter 51
** The entirety of Hajun is literally a mystery, neither Brunhilde nor Hermes have any idea who the hell he is. All we know that, according to Hades, is that he's a legendary berserk in Helheim, which is basically Hell for all mythology combined.
** Remember Buddha's ability to see into the future? In context, it's reading the fluctuations of every soul, seeing the movements of their light to determine their actions. The problem: Hajun's soul is literally all black with no speck of light, rendering it useless against him.
* Chapter 52
** Beelzebub is revealed to have been the one who took a sample of Hajun’s essence and implanted it into Zerofuku. And why did he do this? Because [[ForScience he was curious]] and wanted to see if he could revive Hajun, even saying it didn’t have to be Zerofuku and could have been anyone. Zerofuku just had the right conditions Beelzebub was looking for.

* Chapter 46 shows us firsthand the insanity of Zerofuku. After being kicked by Buddha in the previous chapter, he goes completely crazy and starts ranting about how miserable he is as he throws a violent tantrum, while also distorting his face into [[NightmareFace many horrible expressions of despair, grief and hatred]], that increase more and more anytime he misses his attacks and/or Buddha lands a hit on him.

* The Seven Lucky Gods fusing into their true form is not a pretty sight. Unlike more conventional fusing methods, each one of the gods jump into Bishamonten's back, which absorbs them into his flesh and greatly deforms his body, rearranging it very grotesquely and giving Bishamonten a different appearance anytime he absorbs a new god. After combining with all his six partners, Bishamonten assumes his true form: an eerie young man named Zerofuku with a creepy smile and black sclera. Even worse, the narration states his descent into Earth brought terrible calamities to the world, implying he's quite strong.

The line that says "destroy humanity a thousand times over" is a reference to the wheel of samsara and the endless cycle of reincarnation and suffering. It does not literally mean wiping out humanity. It means that he plagued humanity with the seven deadly sins.

* If it weren’t for what remained of Zerofuku’s conscience breaking himself into the Seven Lucky Gods, Zerofuku would have taken out his rage on humanity, exterminating them several times over with all the misfortune he was about to unleash.
