** It goes further than that. The Jade Emperor's power is ''ripping him apart'', and it only gets worse the longer he ignores it. By the time he actually starts using the power the way it was meant to be used, it's gotten so out of control that it ''starts melting Azure from the inside out.'' It isn't a slow process either, and the whole time Azure is howling in agony. Azure Lion's demise easily takes the cake for the most gruesome on-screen death in the entire show.

By the time he actually starts using the power the way it was meant to be used, it's gotten so out of control that it ''starts melting Azure from the inside out.'' ** In "New Adventures", Azure claims that he and the brotherhood created Camel Ridge to be a glorious utopia. A place where mortals could live in peace and safety. And that the Celestial Realm did not approve of the "competition". Sending Monkey King to attack the group and ruin their work. However, in "A Lifetime of Mistakes". Macaque [[OnceMoreWithClarity clarifies]] that creating Camel Ridge literally drained every living thing nearby of energy. Leaving the surrounding area, a lifeless and baren wasteland. Even after committing such an act, Azure ''still'' sees himself as the hero.

* Throughout "The Emperor's Wrath" Special, it's clear that Azure is in agony. Even though he keeps trying to deny it. No matter how much he tries to brush it aside, the others quickly realize something is terribly wrong with him.

* The origin of the Samadhi Fire, as revealed in "The First Ring" - Red Son was ''born'' with this immense power that could potentially burn through the very fabric of reality. As the fire grew stronger, it was clear he couldn't control it, so his parents decided to remove it. There are a few brief flashbacks of toddler Red Son slowly being consumed by his power, which involve him laughing maniacally and hitting himself in the face, all shown through a jagged red and black filter. It's terrifying enough to watch a child hurt themselves, but when it's because there's a world-ending power inside them that could potentially destroy anything it touches, the child included, you can hardly blame DBK and Iron Fan for sealing the power away.
