** There IS a point where returning to your truck is an instant death, and it can be a big jumpscare if you don't know that you've done anything wrong, but after exploring the Secret Crypt, returning to your truck will sometimes have a mummy sitting in the passenger seat that immediately eats your face off. The trigger is [[spoiler:opening the mummy's coffin further in and leaving it open. Closing it up again prevents it escaping and getting in your truck]].

* The first time midnight rolls around in the third game can be ''quite'' disturbing since you have nothing other than vague hints of "Stay inside at midnight" and "it happens at 12 AM every night".

** The first time is definitely the worst even BEFORE as the player will have seen numerous warnings about midnight...and once it gets dark, a tense, nervewracking theme takes over and plays throughout the house, leaving you feeling like SOMETHING awful is about to happen, and indeed it is...
** While you're (likely) hiding in an attempt to wait out the hour long assault, you're treated to a flashing red aura like a pulse and blood dripping from the edges of your hiding spot while loud, intense music plays that prevents you from hearing if the monsters are at your door yet or not....so you can only wait to see if they burst in, and should they do so, if they'll figure out your hiding spot or not, which they likely will the earlier they break through your defenses...

* Sometimes while driving in the second game, you can hear a noise. Look to the left or the right? And there's a monster running alongside the car at ''full speed''. And then it tries to get in. Fortunately, it only takes one hit to knock off.
* What may perhaps be the first time you encounter said monster in the second game will cause you to get a flat tire. What follows is a tense puzzle where you have to replace the tire... while hearing [[VideoGame/EarthboundBeginnings Giegue's shrill theme]]. It's a very ''very'' effective use of it.

If you mess up, you might drop the wrench and make some noise, so keep an eye on the bushes if that happens. Once the commotion dies down, you can continue with what you're doing. Otherwise, a nasty enemy can cause a game over instantly.

* The As much as the truck is pretty vulnerable, the vehicle itself is always one of the few safe place(s) in Cursed 2. However, One exception is at the player can disturb a mummy gas station. If you hit the zombie attendant and don't finish it will end up ''in the truck'' properly with you. a few good hammer swings, it catches up with you as soon as you get in the truck again and empties your health bar in two hits while you can't really do anything to stop that. You could always use a few whacks to make sure it never gets the chance.

* Listening to the audio tapes in the third game results in plenty of nightmare fuel, especially the one recorded by Spencer's wife. Her continually increasing insanity with each recording is downright disturbing.

* Going through the barn house in Cursed 2 is harrowing because there's a nearly invisible enemy within that will instantly kill you if you run into it and don't have the music box. When it catches you? A pair of enormous claws close in around you and, presumably, rip you apart. Oh, and the [[https://youtu.be/shLboPmbibM music]] used in the barn does everything it can to make the barn maze all the creepier.

* The colourful artstyle with AnimeHair seems somewhat like things you would see in the early [=2000s=] on Website/DeviantART, and the lack of shading makes it look like an [=MSPaint=] drawing. This ends up making things seem ''quite'' unsettling - especially when you end up seeing dead bodies.

** Jennifer ''repeatedly'' attacks you in the mine after her dead body was taken - and you cut her head off.
* In the second game, you have to at one point don a diving suit and go into a lake to take an item out of a car. With a dead body inside. Remove it, back up - and the body is now flying ''right at you''.
* There is also one part in which you enter a bathroom, and if you stop to look at the mirror, you'll see Randall's reflection... and [[OhCrap a mantis like monster walking right in the bathroom door in plain sight]].
* Within the bathroom, you have to hide inside a stall. But what happens if you ''don't'' close the door? Instant death.
