** Buz to an even greater extent; the band's Wikipedia page doesn't even list his legal first name, in contrast to Rover and Slo. This line-up would remain together through production of the band's seventh album ''Extinction(s)'', released in 2018, with O'Toole achieving full-time status in that time. They initially weathered the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic well enough, but as of 2022 their line-up has started shuffling again, with both the departure of Pierce after a decade with the group and the surprise announcement of Susi going on hiatus; that both have been spotted working with Music/AsILayDying in the wake of their own turnover has cast doubt on Susi's long-term future with the group. Regardless, the remaining members, with the addition of Peter Layman (a former touring fill-in from the mid-[=2000s=]) and the even more surprising return of Mike Justian, have pressed forward. A new album is due sometime in 2023; interviews have already confirmed that it was recorded with Pierce and Susi.

* CareerEndingInjury: Very nearly happened to Nick Pierce. A very old back injury that he never dealt with (that turned out to be a slipped disc that had been like that for so long that it had actually started to calcify and subsequently pierced his spine and caused him to leak fluid) led to nerve damage that caused his right leg to atrophy to the point where it was noticeably withering. It was only due to surgery and a fairly lengthy recovery period that involved a significant amount of physical therapy that he didn't have to exit both Unearth and music as a whole.
