In 2021, the same year ''Fruit Salad TV'' was released introducing a new culturally-diverse cast, it was announced that Emma would be retiring and passing on her yellow skivvy to Tsehay, who previously wore red alongside Kelly (yellow), John (purple), and Evie (blue).

* SpiritualSuccessor: In "Daniel & Molly" from Here Comes a Song, The Wiggles' second album, the barks from the titular characters sound exactly like Wags the Dog, who would make his debut a few years later. Important to note that Jeff did these barks, and he would eventually voice Wags the Dog.
** In "Bound for South Australia" from the same album, Anthony sings in a pirate voice that he would end up using when he played Captain Feathersword.

* VoicesAreMental: Subverted in the Series 2 episode "The Body"; Captain Feathersword and Wags happen upon "Each Other's Voices Street", which causes them to switch voices.

* DaysOfTheWeekSong: Wiggly Waffle, a daily block that aired on the then-called [[Creator/UniversalKids Sprout]], started with The Wiggles singing about which day of the week it was.

* AdultFear:
** Inadvertently during the Jan. 17, 2020 charity gig: Greg suffered a cardiac arrest after the main show. Out-of-hospital cardiac arrests are ''extremely'' deadly[[note]]i.e., they have an 8% survival rate[[/note]], and it's likely Greg ''was medically dead'' for a moment. The thought of Greg dying is fear enough for most adult fans, but that he could have died after appearing to be fine during a concert cranks it UpToEleven.
** On Twitter and in an interview, Anthony brought up that he didn't know enough CPR to have been of any help to Greg. That brings up another Adult Fear: seeing a loved one in danger and being powerless to help.

** Captain Feathersword was supposed to be featured for a grand total of one appearance. His immense popularity after this one appearance cemented him as a mainstay for the rest of the series, even outlasting most of the OG Wiggles.

** When the secondary cast was first added to the line-up, the characters were initially played by the Wiggles themselves, with Anthony playing Captain Feathersword, Murray playing Dorothy and Jeff playing Henry. Eventually, after Paul Paddick joined the group and became popular with them, he became the official actor for Captain Feathersword (and remains so to this day), and more performers were brought on to portray Dorothy, Henry and Wags.

* BreakoutCharacter: Emma. It's to the point where the group have reported little girls [[PeripheryDemographic a bit outside of The Wiggles' primary demographic]] coming to live shows dressed up as Emma. She's also gotten her own spinoff series, album, and merch (the latter of which is sometimes faced with HypeBacklash by parents online).

** Subverted in their cover of "Elephant" by Music/TameImpala for Australian radio station triple j's weekly "Like a Version" segment: "Well, he feels like an elephant shakin' his big grey trunk for the hell of it."

** Wags the Dog... at least, initially. In the second TV series, we can hear his thoughts (similar to ComicStrip/{{Garfield}}), revealing him to be quite the [[DeadpanSnarker snarker]] in the presence of Captain Feathersword's antics. Eventually, he was given the ability to speak aloud at around the time of the fourth TV series. Despite this, he hasn't spoken out loud since "Go Santa Go!", the first Christmas video of the new generation, and that was made in '''2013''', pretty much rendering him voiceless again.

* LastNoteNightmare: "Wiggly Medley" ends with the loud plonking of pianos and a drumbeat that sounds almost like a gunshot. The reverb and the fact that this comes out of nowhere make this verge on jump scare territory.

After Greg's departure, he was replaced as the Yellow Wiggle by Sam Moran, who stayed until January 2012, when Greg returned. In December of 2012, however, three of the original members - Greg, Murray, and Jeff - retired from the group (though they continue to be involved in the development of the band), and were replaced by three younger band members, Simon Pryce as the red Wiggle, Lachlan "Lachy" Gillespie as purple, and Emma Watkins as yellow, with Anthony staying. In 2021, ''Fruit Salad TV'' was announced, introducing four new, culturally-diverse Wiggles: Kelly (yellow), Tsehay (red), John (purple), and Evie (blue).
