* IdenticalStranger: As he has gotten older, Trevor Strnad has begun to develop an uncanny resemblance to [[Music/{{Korn}} Jonathan Davis]]. He is apparently aware of this and doesn't appreciate being reminded. He also bears a strong resemblance to Riley [=McShane=] (Allegaeon, Continuum), to the point where Riley has an entire album on his personal Facebook page of screencaps from times that Facebook mistakenly tried to tag him in photos of Trevor.

* BigFun: Trevor Strnad. Shannon Lucas was also this, and it led to lots of "TBDM = melodic death played by a bunch of hairy fat guys" jokes. It seems to be a common phenomenon within the band due to their hard-touring lifestyle and long sedentary periods while on the road, as Brian is also heading here and Alan himself has started to develop the Black Dahlia gut; Max has so far averted this by bringing weights and lifting on the road (though he qualifies when bulking), and only time will tell if Brandon manages to avoid this or not.

** ''Ritual'' ''Everblack'' was where the a far darker album with prominent brutal death and black metal influences started taking that was, as a whole, distinctively less melodic and more foreboding and ominous than any of their earlier output.
** ''Nightbringers'' has
prominent role, in addition to experimenting PowerMetal influences with mid-paced songs heavily influenced by Obituary a greatly increased focus on leadwork and Morbid Angel.far more frequent gang vocals. This can likely be owed to the influence of Brandon Ellis, who wrote almost half of the album and played a large role in its creative direction as a whole.
