Danny Sexbang is a Jewish man who is the world's most handsome, erotic lover, [[CasanovaWannabe according only to himself]]. To this end, songs often involve Danny's humorous attempts to flirt with and impress a girl, which amount to crude sexual advances and aggrandising of his own achievements, often to the level of absurdity. Ninja Brian is a homicidal, sociopathic and incredibly deadly ninja with an array of killing methods both mundane and fantastic, and a bizarre obsession with Dan, which often results in most people around Danny dying in horrific ways. He is never seen without his mask (with a sole exception, listed below). Many videos also end with Brian killing Dan.

Danny is also currently part of several musical projects outside of NSP -- Skyhill, an alternative/downtempo band with Peter Lennox that was originally active from 2006-2008 but reunited for single releases in 2015 and 2020, announcing work on a new album with the latter release; and Shadow Academy, an alternative band with NSP producer Jim Roach that formed in December 2021 and released their debut single "White Whale" in January 2022.

Ninja Sex Party is a [[ComedyMusic musical comedy]] duo that formed in 2009 in UsefulNotes/{{New York|City}} and is currently based in Los Angeles. The duo consists of singer Dan Avidan and keyboardist David Wecht, although they adopt the respective characters of "Danny Sexbang" and "Ninja Brian" in their music, which they base most of their comedy on in writing humorous lyrics and overarching concepts.

The series currently consists of three installments - the first one in 2016, second in 2017, and third in 2019.

Also, Danny and Brian are both members of ''WebVideo/GameGrumps''. Danny has co-hosted the main show with Creator/{{Egoraptor}} as "Not-So-Grump" since 2013, when the original "Not-So-Grump" (WebVideo/JonTron) left, and additionally co-founded its sister show ''Steam Train''. Brian is the most recent addition to the show, becoming an official Grump in November 2015. The band with the addition of Egoraptor also forms the supergroup Music/{{Starbomb}}.
