* OneHitWonder: Despite being considered one of the most influential voices in the history of modern country music, and being credited with creating the sub-genre known as "Gulf and Western" that has made such artists as the Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney so popular, the highest any of his songs has ever reached was "Margaritaville", which hit #8 in 1977. His only other song to crack the Top 10 was "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere", which did actually make it all the way to #1. Except "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere" isn't one of JimmyBuffett's songs. Its actually one of AlanJackson's songs, upon which Buffett appears only as a featured artist.

Even worse, the song in question ("Its 5 O'Clock Somewhere") isn't even his song... its AlanJackson's song. Buffett only shows up in it after Jackson sings the line, "I could pay off my tab/Pour myself in a cab/And be back to work before two:/At a moment like this/I can't help but wonder,/what would Jimmy Buffett do?"

Buffett's not shy about his fame, either. He's made cameos in everything from ''RepoMan'' to ''SouthPark.'' He's also lent his weight to several charities, most notably the Save the Manatee Club which is very active in Florida. He's also raised money for hurricane relief charities.

* CoolUncle: In "The Pascagoula Run", he sings about his "black sheep" Uncle Billy, who had made it rich while traveling around the world. When Billy came back home to Mississippi, he immediately went on a 24-hour bar-hopping run to all his old haunts and invited his nephew Jimmy to come along. According to Buffett, this all actually happened back when he was 17.
