* BandOfRelatives: The band includes brothers Tyler and Skyler Acord. Subverted now that the former left, though he'll still work as their producer. Also, brothers Ben and Cory Ferris, who [[ThePeteBest left before they recorded any material]].

* NewSoundAlbum: ''Headspace'' introduced more influences from Jazz, Fusion and ProgressiveMetal with less of their early {{Metalcore}} influence, as well as Michael doing clean vocals.

* OutOfGenreExperience: The final song on their debut album, "Disappear (Remember When)", suddenly switches from their normal NuMetal / {{Metalcore}} style to an ACappella gospel segment complete with female choir singers at the end of the song.
** The gospel choir returned on "Lost-N-Found (On a Roll)" from ''Headspace''.

* RapMetal: Tyler occasionally raps in some songs. Michael raps in his usual screaming voice in some of ''Headspace'', such as at the start of "The Realest".

* RevolvingDoorBand: Tyler and Michael are the only original members left. However, the band seems to have found a stable lineup, even though DJ Lophiile is no longer an official member, he still works with the band.

* TakeThat: "King of Amarillo" is one to the music industry, and more specifically one to their former band Woe, Is Me.
* VocalTagTeam: Tyler Carter and Michael Bohn, both are dedicated vocalists who don't play any instruments on record or on stage. The former [[SopranoAndGravel contrasts]] his smooth, [[{{Pop}} poppy]] RAndB (and occasionally rapping) vocals with the latter's [[HarshVocals harsh]], [[MetalScream aggressive screaming]]. The lines get somewhat blurred by the fact that Tyler does do some occasional screams (the second verse on "The Langdon House" being the biggest example), while Michael (as of ''Headspace'') does both clean vocals and raps in addition to unclean vocals.

* MetalScream: Michael is mainly a Type 1, with occasional forays into Type 2. Despite being a dedicated clean vocalist, Tyler has also broken out into Type 1 and Type 4 screams from time to time.
** Although he never does vocals in the band, Sky Acord has videos of himself performing some very solid Type 2 and Type 3 screams.

The band confirmed in January 2018 that Michael was no longer a member, with various stories disagreeing whether it was artistic disagreements or if he was actually forced out. Either way it's yet to be seen if the band will officially replace him.

In 2015, it was announced that the band would become a five-piece, with turntablist DJ Scout leaving to focus on producing music. However, he will still work with Issues, but won't be an official member. They released their second album ''Headspace'' in early 2016.

Issues is an American {{Metalcore}}[=/=]NuMetal[=/=]{{Pop}}[=/=][[GenreBusting whatever they feel like]] band from Atlanta, Georgia. They were formed in 2012 by Tyler Carter, who wanted to form a band with other members of his former band Woe, Is Me (which included co-vocalist Michael Bohn, and brothers Ben and Cory Ferris). Ultimately, [[ThePeteBest Ben and Cory weren't able to attend recording sessions, and left before they made any material]]. They released their first EP ''Black Diamonds'' soon afterwards. The lineup eventually became as follows.

They have a sound that could only be called ''distinctive''. Take {{metalcore}} a la Music/KillswitchEngage, combine it with late-[[TheNineties nineties]] / early-[[TheNoughties noughties]] {{nu metal}} courtesy of Music/LimpBizkit and early Music/LinkinPark and throw in a good amount of [[Music/NSync *NSYNC-esque]] [[{{Pop}} poppy]] RAndB singing, and [[{{pun}} you got Issues]]. However, it surprisingly [[NeoclassicalPunkZydecoRockabilly works]] and they've built up quite a large fanbase in a short amount of time, [[MorePopularSpinOff eclipsing Tyler and Michael's former band]].
