* SelfDeprecation: In the video for "Follow You", a girl takes her boyfriend to a private concert from Imagine Dragons, even though he preferred Music/TheKillers, which Imagine Dragons has been accused of being an inferior version of. At the end of the concert, the couple doesn't want to listen to the ten other songs Imagine Dragons had prepared, especially wanting to avoid the overplayed "Radioactive". Dan is left looking incredibly awkward at the end.

* HeroicSelfDeprecation: "Next To Me" is basically the singer asking the listener why they're still with them in spite of all the things they've screwed up in life.
