* Everypony is gay for Braeburn [[labelnote:explanation]]Braeburn is a cowboy-like pony who lives in a very Wild West inspired town. His {{Keet}}ness made him incredibly popular almost instantly. Additionally, he is most often seen shipped with other male ponies (mostly Big Macintosh or Soarin'). Probably a reference to ''Film/BrokebackMountain'' and/or the ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear'' "Bridget" meme..[[/labelnote]]

* "Ew gay!" [[labelnote:explanation]]A pic of Lyra saying this was created as a half-joking response to the overabundance of LesYay and femslash shipping in the fandom.[[/labelnote]]

* Snowdrop [[labelnote:explanation]]The original character from the fan-made animation, ''WebAnimation/{{Snowdrop}}'', an adorable - but blind - filly. Though most art of her is very cute, it's quite hard not to make jokes around the character in a ImGoingToHellForThis -type of way. For example, having a reaction image of Snowdrop with the phrase "I can't see what you did there", the aforementioned "sliding ponies" meme with Snowdrop getting the trajectory wrong, or a Snowdrop point-of-view image consisting of a black screen.[[/labelnote]]

* Fluttertree. [[labelnote:explanation]]Stems from a conversation in "Over a Barrel" in which Pinkie Pie takes Rainbow Dash's sarcastic remark about Fluttershy being a tree at face value. Combined with Fluttershy's remark "I'd like to be a tree", it sparked a lot of half-joking debate as to whether or not Fluttershy is, in fact, a tree, or simply the pony equivalent of a furry. It also inspired a number of pictures of Fluttershy as a tree, often combined with the phrase "Leaf-ing the dream!" Much later, the ColdOpening of "Hurricane Fluttershy" has a scene in which Rainbow Dash addresses a tree as Fluttershy and said tree turns out to be Fluttershy trying to hide using a tree costume. Even later, [=WeLoveFine=] came out with [[TheMerch merchandise]] depicting Fluttershy as a tree or with a tree.[[/labelnote]]

[[labelnote:explanation]]Due to the depictions of alicorns as special, rare and powerful beings in the show, the fandom has an almost universal aversion towards alicorn {{Original Character}}s and ponysonas. This often manifests in the fandom as fan work mocking the idea of an alicorn OC. The strength of this idea within the fandom's collective psyche has waned a little since the introduction of additional alicorns in the show and further depictions of them in the cartoon showing that they are not as god-like as the fandom thought they were.[[/labelnote]]

* "Trixie is Trans" [[labelnote:explanation]]A reoccurring, if not [[Administrivia/RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgement polarizing]] meme/headcanon (started off by brony trans musician Vylet Pony) that argues that Trixie is actually a trans female due to some factors (the most known "fact" being the original WhatCouldHaveBeen of Trixie being put as a male character before) despite never being confirmed by anybody in the show's staff or Hasbro itself. As stated, the meme became polarizing due to some bronies (especially Vylet Pony herself) enforcing that the theory ''is'' "canon" despite no actual proof of it, leading to some drama regarding it as a result.[[/labelnote]]
