To even know where to find the legendary seed and pot needed to create the leaf, the participant must [[spoiler:decipher a riddle only known by the animals in the festival. Not only would it be impossible for most demons to know the riddle's existence because they can't understand animals, but it's also counter-intuitive for the tournament since the participants need to beat and collect animals to gain points. Then, to get the seed and the pot, the participant must enter two different caves and face a powerful entity in each (thankfully, there is a solution other than direct fighting for both). On their way, the participant must also help a trapped student who seems to be another participant but is secretly in cahoots with the school staff since said student holds the watering can needed to make the leaf bloom. Even with all these secret conditions fulfilled, the participant needs plenty of mana to make the leaf bloom]]. According to [[spoiler:the Legendary Leaf]], the solution was intentionally overly complicated so it could only be done by a demon who thinks differently than other demons, which is why [[spoiler:Iruma could do it since he's secretly a human and his unusual compassion was one key to win the leaf. Teaming up with other students also allowed him to win, since having Lied as his teammate divided the research time for the seed and the pot and most of Iruma's classmates helped him and Lied in some way, which is quite notable since demons tend to be selfish, but all of Iruma's classmates were influenced by Iruma's unique good nature]].
