** After Nana humiliates Seri and Moe by breaking their canoe, they increase their bullying of Yaya so much that Yaya starts skipping school by PlayingSick.
** As the Del Rey manga notes in the last volume, Dissociative Identity Disorder is not something that can easily go away with CharacterDevelopment. Yaya has to deal with waking up in strange places, in clothes she doesn't remember wearing, and not knowing why bullies hate her.
** It's revealed that Megumi [[spoiler:coerces her classmates into signing up as potential "idols" for her dad's company, only for them to be tricked into "escorting" men and prostituting themselves. The only way to get out of it is to pay the exorbitant fees and steal back the contract. The Del Rey manga notes in volume one that the idol industry by itself is fairly exploitative]].
