* LimitedSocialCircle: Lampshaded in chapter 132 where all the 4 characters notice they don't seem to hang out with anyone else besides each other. It turns out Moriya and the Library's Chairman have a FriendlessBackground. Koga knows Tanaka but doesn't really about him and Orikawa friend's Ecchan goes to another school.

* BrilliantButLazy: One omake reveals that Koga would commonly make it into 3rd place in previous exams during high school but always cheating. Once he decided not to cheat in his current exam [[DickDastardlyStopsToCheat he still make it into the 20th place.]]

Added DiffLines:

* DickDastardlyStopsToCheat : A non-villanous example. Koga actually has fairly good grades on his own but always prefer to take the easy way out and cheat in his exams
* EvenNerdsHaveStandards: ''[[Manga/NoMatterHowILookAtItItsYouGuysFaultImNotPopular Tomoko Kuroki]]'' out of all the possible characters finds Orikawa's CuteBookworm facade to be painfully embarrassing.

Added DiffLines:

* MinimalistCast: Pretty much the whole series involves mostly focused no one else besides the titular trio and later on, the [[SixthRanger Library's Comitee Chairman]]. Any other character is a RecurringExtra that with a bit of luck would have one or two dialogues.

Added DiffLines:

* SixthRanger: The Library's Comitee Chairman joins the original trio after being introduced in Chapter 96.

* FeigningIntelligence: It hardly counts as a spoiler (as even the title of the manga alludes to this) that Orikawa is not actually a bookworm and only pretends to be one in order to look smart. She does, however, become very excited after finishing a book for the first time in her life and looks for someone she could discuss the book with, so this might change.

An OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent Koga falls in LoveAtFirstSight with a(n apparent) CuteBookworm Iori Orikawa. The only problem is that he only reads gag manga and erotic comedies, and thus can't hope to impress her in a discussion about books. After his attempt to get into a library committee with Orikawa (to spend more time with her) backfires on him, he turns to his classmate, a loner {{Bookworm}} Moriya, for some book recommendations in order to have something to talk about with Orikawa.

The manga is serialized on [[http://sai-zen-sen.jp/comics/twi4/bungakushoujo/ Sai-Zen-Sen's website]].

!! This work provides examples of the following:
* AchievementsInIgnorance: Orikawa manages to gain some respect from Moriya by picking one of lesser known books written by Natsuhiko Kyogoku and claiming it to be his best work. [[spoiler:In reality she had no idea what the book was about and only picked it because it was shorter that other books written by the author.]]
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Invoked in-universe. While looking for a book he could recommend to Koga, Moriya runs across a book of dating tips, which subscribes to this viewpoint. Moriya himself seems to be sceptical, though.
* BromanticFoil: Koga's classmate Taoka, a somewhat perverted guy who wants to be friends with Koga (much to the latter's chagrin) and apparently spends his spare time gathering information on his schoolmates and making a list of the school's hottest girls, which he offers to share with Koga. Invoked by Koga, who wonders whether Taoka is like a protagonist's friend from the dating sim.
* ChewbaccaDefence: Orikawa's response when Moriya corrects her after she claims that Creator/FyodorDostoevsky was an American.
* CovertPervert: Koga might be creeped out by Taoka's offers to help him find a girlfriend, but at the same he does peep on Orikawa at any chance he gets. On one occasion he also blurted out that he would like to "train" Orikawa, unsettling Moriya.
* CuteClumsyGirl and TheDitz: How everyone saw Orikawa before she entered high school, which caused them to make fun of her. She got sick of it and decided to cultivate an image of a CuteBookworm instead.
* GeniusBookClub: Invoked by Orikawa, who only picked ''Literature/CrimeAndPunishment'' because it had a pretentious-looking cover. In general, she wants to be seen reading books by her schoolmates in order to cultivate her image as a bookworm. In reality, she didn't even finish a book in her entire life before chapter 38.
* LoveAtFirstSight: Bordering on a parody of the trope. On the very day he sees Orikawa for the first name, and knowing almost nothing about her, Koga already images himself marrying Orikawa and the visiting their grandchildren with her.
* LoveTriangle: Invoked in-universe, as Koga suspects Moriya of being interested in Orikawa, whom Koga himself has a crush on.
* NotWhatItLooksLike: In chapter 43 Orikawa sees Koga and Moriya from a huge distance while the two are sharing a bike, [[spoiler:which gives her the impression that [[MistakenForGay the two are kissing]]]].
* RockPaperScissors: How Koga, Orikawa and Moriya resolve who gets to be on the library committee, as all of them volunteered, but only two members were needed. [[spoiler:The game has a less than satisfying conclusion for Koga, as he only wanted to join the committee to spend more time with Orikawa, but ends up stuck with Moriya instead.]]
* SeriousBusiness: Moriya takes Koga's request for book recommendations rather more seriously than he needs to. Also, he is very determined about not letting anyone interrupt Koga while reading the book picked by Moriya. [[spoiler:Including Orikawa who wanted to talk about a book she just read]].
* SingleTargetSexuality: Koga shows no romantic interest in anyone other than Orikawa. He gets annoyed when Taoka offers to share his list of hot girls with him.
* StalkerWithACrush: Koga acts like this towards Orikawa sometimes, peeping on her on the way to school and in the library, as well as following her to a train station (while claiming that [[BlatantLies he's just making sure she arrives at the station safely]]). It's PlayedForLaughs, though in-universe Moriya finds this creepy.
* UnwantedAssistance: Koga's opinion on Taoka's offers to help him find a girlfriend.
