Pochita however, gives Denji a second chance to live by fusing himself with Denji and as a result, Denji then transforms into becoming a humanoid chainsaw demon and brutally kills said Yakuza.

After the battle, a mysterious girl named Makima appears before Denji and gives him two options: To die as a demon or live as her pet. Denji's lifelong dream being to eat bread and hug a woman, he choses the latter option and joins Makima's Devil Hunter Organization. His thrilling adventures begin from there.

* ChivalrousPervert: Denji's main goal is wanting to fondle a woman's breasts. However, he willingly tries to help others in need However, he willingly tries to help others in need. At one point, he won't try to hurt a child and the devil due to their strong relationship reminding him of his relationship with Pochita. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, said relationship is just a facade because said devil is manipulating the girl.]]
* CuteMonsterGirl: Power is a demon humanoid girl who has a charming devil-like attitude and a soft spot for cats.
* DarkerAndEdgier: This manga is considered to be one of the most darkest manga in Jump's history due to the brutal and bloody first chapter, with its seemingly out of place violence. The DownerBeginning of the series starts with Denji's father committing suicide due to the huge debt that he has to pay and Denji ending up getting betrayed by the Yakuza who gave Denji said debt to begin with by chopping off all of his body parts.
