* AntiHero: Oga, when he can be considered a hero at all.
* ArrangedMarriage: Attributing to his immense wealth, [[spoiler:Himekawa]] had been betrothed to marry [[spoiler:Kugayama]] since birth. They were childhood friends and were close, at least until [[spoiler:Kugayama outwitted Himekawa and took the Demon's Portrait]], and was further strained when [[spoiler:Himekawa ditched his old fancy academy to go to Ishiyama]]. Despite all this, she was apparently still in love with him all along.
** It gets even more complicated. [[spoiler:Kugayama]] fell in love with him during childhood, and in response her grandfather arranged the marriage. However she didn't want to reveal the fact that they were engaged to him, fearing that it would ruin the relationship they already had. [[spoiler:Himekawa]], who didn't know the identity of his fiancee (and possibly didn't know about her being a {{Bifauxnen}}), grew to value her as his OnlyFriend and thus felt betrayed when the truth came out. This is probably the reason he left the academy in the first place.

* BandagedFace: Pillar Odonel, made even more poignant by the fact that the bandages are tattooed, cover his entire head and his arms are chained to his sides.
* BareYourMidriff: Aoi at first, more than a few of the Red Tails women, and demons Satura, Agiel, Pamiel, Ananta and Lunana.
* BattleButler: Himekawa's enigmatic, hyper-competent butler Hasui, who seems to be a JackOfAllTrades.
