** In the case of the former, Star Saber easily thrashes Leozack (flashback would show Star Saber already being an accomplished warrior 100 000 years earlier), while in the case of the latter Super Megatron is fully justified in his boast: as leader of the Decepticons he's got [[UpToEleven several million years]] worth of combat experience over a comparative youngster like Sixliner (in-universe Sixliner was only active since the 1980s). He easily dispatches Sixliner, and it's only the arrival of Star Convoy that saves the rookie.

Most commonly used [[TrashTalk before a fight]]. A character will often say "You're 100 years too early to be facing me." Or any number of years they choose. 100 is most common. In works involving characters that live significantly longer than humans, 1000 or more years might be substituted. The English equivalent would be to call someone "too green" or, less literally, "out of their league."

A [[UsefulNotes/JapaneseStockPhrases stock insult]] used by the Japanese to show the confidence of a certain character in a one-on-one match, or just to say that a character is out of their league.

* Subverted in ''Manga/{{Bastard}}'', when the main character is fighting a demon who keeps bragging about how he is 400 years old... with no idea that the protagonist is '''[[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld much older than that]]'''. (The dub even [[{{Woolseyism}} adds a line]] to this effect after the demon's inevitable [[CurbStompBattle facepwning]].)

* In the first ''VideoGame/AdvanceWars'' game, Kanbei says, "Come back when you've matured some! Say, in ten years!" the first time he uses his [[LimitBreak CO Power]] in the mission "Kanbei's Error?".
