** The prequel, ''Fanfic/GodzillaNewEra'' has the [[BigBad Millennian]] note that all of humanity's arms and technology combined is not as big of a threat to them as the current Godzilla, referring to the kaiju as the apex Terran lifeform and the most powerful creature on the planet. [[BigGood G-Force Commander Aso]] comes to agree with that assessment.

* ''Franchise/KungFuPanda'' has Master Oogway AKA the founder of Kung Fu. His century worth of experience is practically acknowledged and revered by almost everyone while his enemies fear him. Most of the villains that Po and the other Furious Five and Shifu struggles to defeat in the show were at some point in the past curbstomped by him. The only times he's almost lost was when he fought the Demon King Ke-Pa after the Demon King avoided fighting him until he was worn out taking down the other Demons, someone who [[spoiler:''killed'' Po for a short time]] and his former friend Kai who were evenly matched in the past before Oogway banished him to the Spirit Realm. While Kai beat Oogway in the present quite easily, it should be noted that Kai had already stolen the chi of every other kung fu master in the spirit world. In fact, Po only got the upper hand against Kai with [[spoiler:[[CombinedEnergyAttack the combined Chi of every panda in the village along with Tigress and Mr. Ping]]]] to even the odds.

* Ricky Flame from from ''Series/{{iCarly}}'' gets this treatment ''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8532906/1/iFightCrimeWithVictorious iFight Crime With Victorious]]'', ironic since he tried to wrestle fifth-graders in the show and was pinned by a 14 to 16-year-old girl seconds after.

** Then there is [[GodOfChaos Baelz Hakos]], the so-called "strongest Primordial" by [[AllThereInTheManual IRyS' diary log]]. With her Authority of Chaos combined with the Calamity Trait: Chaotic Order, she is capable of controlling the laws of reality, which includes applying a rather potent {{Nerf}} to her opponents that ''itself'' includes (with the exceptions of [=IRyS=] and Mumei) complete negation of their traits. It's saying something when [=IRyS=] claims Bae can take on an Elder God (a being ''above'' the Primordials in the divine ranking system) and ''win''.

* ''WebAnimation/HoloChronicles'' makes [[WebAnimation/{{Hololive}} Sora Tokino]] out to be this, being compared to Satoru Gojo above [[WordOfGod by Kugeki himself]]. Each of her [[SummonMagic 13 knights]] are ''individually'' capable of destroying small countries, and her "Purity Trait" allows her to erase any attacks backed by negative intent... which pretty much makes for any attacks period most of the time. There is all of ''one'' weakness to her ridiculous defense, that being that an attack with either positive intent or no real intent at all can't be deleted, but that isn't something that most people aside from [[RobotGirl Roboco]] can make use of. All in all, she rightfully deserves her position at the top of the [[EliteFour Seven Divas]].

** Film/{{Thor}} Odinson is likely the strongest male humanoid in the MCU. His strength alone exceeds everyone on Asgard save for his father Odin (and Odin even admitted he has more potential). In ''The Avengers'', he easily destroyed the massive alien Leviathans and was able to fight for much longer than ''everybody'' else despite getting stabbed by Loki earlier. While Thor's WorldsBestWarrior status is also solid, he's still overshadowed by the Hulk despite touting himself as "Strongest Avenger" (though their battle in ''The Avengers'' does see Thor generally have the upper hand over Hulk despite not trying to hurt Banner, including a PunchCatch that startles Hulk). [[spoiler:However, Thor's claim is given credence when he fully realizes his [[ShockAndAwe lightning powers]] (without his hammer) and wrecks the Hulk. If that wasn't enough, Thor gains a massive power boost with [[AnAxeToGrind Stormbreaker]], a weapon forged by [[UltimateBlacksmith Eitri]] with the express purpose of killing Thanos. With it, Thor becomes the strongest hero in ''[[Film/AvengersInfinityWar Infinity War]]'', overpowering Thanos while wielding all six Infinity Stones and mortally wounding him, though it was due to Thanos being caught off-guard. In ''[[Film/AvengersEndgame Endgame]]'', however, Thor has [[FormerlyFit let himself go]] and [[WorfHadTheFlu isn't quite as strong]] as he was in ''Infinity War'' but even then he can still [[{{Acrofatic}} effectively]] fight Thanos and {{dual wield|ing}} both Stormbreaker and Mjölnir simultaneously]]. ''WesternAnimation/WhatIf'' confirms Thor is indeed capable of equaling Captain Marvel in a fight, largely thanks to his centuries of combat experience countering Carol's raw power.

* ''Webcomic/HeroKiller'' has the Elders, the eight strongest Gift users who's power and age allows them to basically ignore the laws of the goverment and do as they please. The main character Ihwa's and [[Deuteragonist]] Engen attempts to surpassing them is a big plot point as there's no chance to change the rotten Hero Clan goverment without their fall.

* ''WesternAnimation/Ninjago'': The First Spinjitzu Master, the creator of Ninjago, is pretty much hailed as the strongest being in all of the realm he created and most likely all the 16 Realms. Being born of both dragon and oni, the two most powerful species in all of the Realms, he wields both the powers of destruction and creation at the highest level, along with having all the elemental powers except water and wind. He's created the strongest weapons in the world, such as the Four Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu, (which only he could wield to it's fullest extent, even Garmadon can't wield it's true power for long without collapsing), the Golden Mech, and the Realm Crystal. While we never see him in action, the feats he achieves is already enough to put him on an entirely different level than any of the heroes and villains, long after his death. He was able to defeat the Overlord, the embodiment of the darkness of Ninjago, by ''splitting the entire content in half'', whereas in comparison, Lloyd, the Green Ninja, could barely hold his own when the Overlord wasn't at full power and it was his power harnessed by Lloyd that later defeated him again. It was also revealed that his power is what keeps the Oni from invading Ninjago, so much so that even after his death, just fragments of it was enough to hold them at bay for centuries, whereas it took all the Ninja working together to defeat the Oni, with even Garmadon at his full potential being hardly able to match the Oni's leader, the Omega. The one time he's lost is when he was far from reaching his full potential and against Wojira.
** In [[WesternAnimation/HeManAndTheMastersOfTheUniverse2002 the 2002 remake]], naturally it's still He-Man. The most obvious example is when he disposes of [[ArtifactOfDoom a several hundred ton tower that turns everyone around it into evil Snakemen]] [[HurlItIntoTheSun by picking it up and tossing into the sun]]. A flashback episode reveals that in a previous generation, the title was held by [[HeroicLineage his ancestor, King Greyskull]]. As in, "ByThePowerOfGreyskull"

** ''Series/KamenRiderZiO'' presents [[EvilOverlord Oma Zi-O]], [[FutureBadass the future self]] of [[TheProtagonist Sougo Tokiwa]]. Besides the total jackpot he hits in the SuperPowerLottery and being without question the greatest TimeMaster in a whole series full of them, Oma Zi-O has obtained the power of ''EVERY SINGLE'' Heisei Kamen Rider that existed in that era (including the previous contenders for this title) and obtained a level of nigh-omnipotence unrivaled by any other previous Rider or otherwise in the whole franchise. [[spoiler: This is proven without a shadow of a doubt in the final episode where, having ''just'' gotten the power of Oma Zi-O, Sougo [[OneHitKill One-Hit Kills]] some of the most prominent {{Final Boss}}es from previous Kamen Rider series, which includes other candidates for this trope, with little effort.]]

* ''Franchise/KungFuPanda'' has Master Oogway. Most of the villains that Po struggles to defeat in the show were at some point in the past curbstomped by him. The only two enemies that have ever actually been shown to match him or come close to defeating him is the Demon King Ke-Pa (who almost did it at Oogway's prime too), someone who [[spoiler:''killed'' Po for a short time]] and his former friend Kai who were evenly matched in the past before Oogway banished him to the Spirit Realm. While Kai beat Oogway in the present quite easily, it should be noted that Kai had already stolen the chi of every other kung fu master in the spirit world. In fact, Po only got the upper hand against Kai with [[spoiler:[[CombinedEnergyAttack the combined Chi of every panda in the village along with Tigress and Mr. Ping]]]] to even the odds.

** During the reign of Jahad, Enryu appeared on the 43rd Floor and [[KillTheGod slaughtered its Guardian]], a feat impossible for even Jahad. During that battle, the 43rd Floor was reduced to a wasteland and many of Jahad's followers perished. After that incident, Enryu vanished and currently his whereabouts are unknown. He overtook Zahard as the strongest person in the Tower until the arrival of Phantaminum.

** This is demonstrated in the ''WesternAnimation/FantasticFour'' 90s cartoon where Galactus arrives on Earth and is naturally wrecking shop like one would expect of a borderline PhysicalGod... until Daniel Ketch (the second Ghost Rider) rocks up on his bike and gives ol' purple helmet the Penance Stare which takes Galactus down ''as simple as that''.

* ''Machinima/Supermarioglitchy4sSuperMario64Bloopers'': The creators of the series have gone on to create a tiering list for their various characters, with [[BigBad Zero]] placed at the front of the S-Tier, the highest possible level. And a good deal of evidence supports this position; not only does fellow S-Tier Mellony struggle against him battle, but Zero is [[spoiler:later revealed to be the fusion of two Meme Guardians. As two Meme Guardians need to work together to harness the power of memes, which enables one to do almost ''anything'', this means Zero has a massive advantage over pretty much everyone, on top of his corruption, life draining and physical abilities]].

* [[ComicBook/TheMighty Thor]] has frequently come close to this title in the Marvel Universe and taken it a few times.

* ComicBook/TheFlash. The Flashes' [[SuperSpeed speed powers]] are [[StoryBreakerPower ridic]][[JustForFun/HolyShitQuotient ulous]], even by comic book standards, for their destructive potential. Beyond the simple potential for near/actually infinite speed, they can imitate SuperStrength up to Superman tier, become [[{{Intangibility}} intangible]], [[ShockAndAwe generate and manipulate lightning]] etc. Their [[TimeMaster ability]] to TimeTravel allows them to [[RealityWarper warp reality]], whether intentionally or by accident, they can destabilize Green Lantern constructs and if they generate enough energy they can disrupt the various other elements of the universe including magic. Like the Hulk, writers wisely put in a clause that their powers are partially mental so they don't always have access to the full gamut, but in terms of just the humans, the Flashes are considered among the, if not the, strongest men.

* [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk The Hulk's]] ''potential'' strength is theoretically unlimited, making him the Franchise/MarvelUniverse's strongest character. [[ComicBook/PlanetHulk Green]] [[ComicBook/WorldWarHulk Scar]] in particular is the strongest version of the Hulk. WordOfGod is that the Green Scar Hulk is "stronger than any mortal and most immortals in the Marvel Universe." So he is literally the strongest man; anyone stronger than him is at least a PhysicalGod, and he's stronger than most of those as the only heroes who were able to challenge the Hulk in Green Scar form were the Sentry (see below), ComicBook/TheMightyThor (in a "ComicBook/WhatIf" when he beat the Sentry to New York) and ComicBook/GhostRider (who only came to reason with the Hulk and never attacked since Hulk was not guilty). Devil Hulk (the Hulk incarnation who stars in ''ComicBook/ImmortalHulk'') is on the cusp of this trope now, [[spoiler:given he [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu defeated]] [[TheAntiGod The One Below All]] (the counterpart to [[{{God}} The One Above All]]) ''with one ShockwaveClap'', though he admitted it only bought the protagonists a minute's breathing space to escape it. The last issue in the run outright confirms Hulk as the strongest character in Marvel as it turns out he's actually a direct creation/"child" of The One Above All meant the serve as the "counterweight" to creation by being [[DestroyerDeity the embodiment of destruction]]. Likewise, the reveal that The One Below All is actually the SuperPoweredEvilSide to The One Above All makes Hulk's aforementioned thunderclapping of the deity even more impressive given he essentially blow away the creator of everything.]]

* The world record for deadlift at 1,122 pounds is held by Brian Shaw, who has won the World's Strongest Man and Arnold's Classic competitions multiple times.

* In ''Fanfic/TheBridge'', there are several depending on which world is brought up. Princess Celestia and Luna are the physically and magically most powerful Equestrians without factoring in group spells like the Elements of Harmony or items like the Crystal Heart. Some conditions could allow the likes of Tirek, Queen Chrysalis, or King Sombra to go hoof-to-hoof with them.

He also dramatically won the January 2015 "World's Strongest Viking" contest in Norway by carrying a 650kg (1,433 pound) 9.8m (32 foot) "monster log" on his shoulders and carrying it for thre steps. This was based on the feat recorded in ''Literature/TheIcelandicSagas'' of Orm Storulfsson [[RedBaron the Strong]] carrying the mast of a viking longship (said to be that same length and weight) for three steps before [[GameBreakingInjury breaking his back]]. Storulfsson's record had stood for ''a thousand years'' until Björnsson broke it (and notably ''didn't'' break his back).

** Speaking of the Mad Titan, [[HeroKiller Thanos]] wielding the Infinity Gauntlet was the strongest character in the MCU. According to Bruce Banner, just possessing the Power and Space Stones automatically made Thanos the most powerful being in the universe... and with the rest of the Stones, Doctor Strange says that Thanos "could destroy life on a scale hitherto undreamt of". [[spoiler:Thanos lives up to his reputation throughout the movie because not a single hero can overpower him in a straight-up one on one fight (as the Hulk, Doctor Strange, and Iron Man can attest); it takes a CombinationAttack from the Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy just to briefly incapacitate him, and [[HopeSpot even this ultimately fails]]. In ''Endgame'', even [[BroughtDownToBadass without the Gauntlet]], Thanos -- a younger one who traveled to the present from 2014 -- still overpowers Iron Man, Thor with Stormbreaker and Captain America ''wielding Mjolnir!'' In a three on one fight, it takes Tony using the Infinity Gauntlet himself to put Thanos down for good.]]

** [[Characters/ScarletWitch Wanda Maximoff]]. By Phase 4, she becomes the most powerful Earth-based heroine. While her lack of training and emotional volatility often limit her effectiveness, she is capable of vast-scale destruction with a little bit of focus. [[spoiler:In ''Endgame'', she crushes Thanos, breaking his double-bladed sword, and comes seconds away from killing him when Thanos orders an indiscriminate bombardment to get her away from him. The closest match to her in the film is Carol Danvers, whose powers come from the Space Stone. But unlike Carol, who has fully mastered her abilities for as long as Wanda has been alive, Wanda still has a lot of room to learn and fears some of her abilities. And by ''Series/WandaVision'', she is a full-blown RealityWarper whose powers rival those of an Infinity Gauntlet. And the terrifying part is that it's mostly subconscious. Agatha mentions that, according to the [[TomeOfEldritchLore Darkhold]], the Scarlet Witch is more powerful than even the [[Characters/MCUDoctorStrange Sorcerer Supreme]]. To confirm this ''Film/DoctorStrangeInMultiverseOfMadness'' sees Wanda personally decimate Kamar-Taj and all the sorcerers defending it before overpowering both Strange and Wong. Then upon entering Universe 838 through possesing her AlternateSelf Wanda [[CurbStompBattle annihilates]] [[Characters/MarvelComicsTheIlluminati The Illuminati]], a team consisting of: Mr Fantastic, Black Bolt, Captain Marvel (Maria Rambeu), Captain Carter and even Charles freaking Xaiver whom together killed Thanos in their universe. In the end it takes Strange tapping into the Darkhold himself and America Chavez's efforts to overpower Wanda and even then, she only really "loses" due to having a HeelRealization and accepting defeat.]]

** Bruce Banner aka the Incredible Hulk is undoubtedly the strongest being from Earth with the only other mortal with comparable SuperStrength being [[Film/CaptainMarvel2019 Carol Danvers]], Abomination and Thor. [[Film/TheIncredibleHulk2008 In Hulk's first cinematic outing]], the army armed with weapons specifically designed to hurt/capture Banner couldn't even faze him, nor could the SuperSoldier turning himself into a Hulk-like [[PsychoSerum Abomination]] succeed in defeating the Jolly Green Giant. By the time of ''Film/{{The Avengers|2012}}'', Hulk almost singlehandedly stops an alien army, punches a PhysicalGod like Thor around, and then [[CurbStompBattle literally wipes the floor with]] Odin's ''other'' son and [[FaceHeelRevolvingDoor this installment's]] BigBad, Loki, who made the mistake of being in the same room as Hulk (ditto for [[Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron Ultron]]). On the flip side, being so strong and nearly uncontrollable makes Banner [[PersonOfMassDestruction a risk]] to society and his fellow Avengers, leading to Hulk leaving Earth after an [[MindRape incident with Scarlet Witch]] that caused the destruction of an entire city. This is {{subverted|Trope}} from ''Film/ThorRagnarok'' onward; while Hulk is much more at home on Skaar with his unmatched strength quickly making him the Grandmaster's [[GladiatorGames Gladiator Champion]], he is matched by Hela's undead wolf Fenris and even briefly overpowered by Thor [[spoiler:before being beaten utterly by Thanos in ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar'']].

*** In ''Film/TheRiseOfSkywalker'' [[spoiler:Palpatine's sheer level of strength is displayed by how he's been able to keep a telepathic connection with Ben Solo for ''decades'', which is stated to be able to kill a person as powerful as Rey (even though she had yet to unlock her full strength at the time) and is shown to kill Leia in a matter of seconds (though Leia was already SecretDying from the damage she sustained in the previous film while in the vacuum of space despite using the Force to save herself). Palpatine's power is such that his clones can't bear it, being left decrepit and withering, and despite being in such a state, he still easily subdues Ben and Rey and [[LifeDrain drains their lifeforce]], afterward becoming powerful enough to [[PersonOfMassDestruction disable an entire battle fleet by generating a Force Storm of lightning]]. Rey does manage to overcome him, but only via [[spoiler:harnessing power from all the dead Jedi, and the act of doing so immediately causes her own death]].

** New Sun makes the likes of Exodus, Stryfe and most Omega-Level Mutants look like a walk in the park if you consider the capacity of power New Sun dishes out. In his universe (Earth-9921), New Sun straight-up ''[[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu killed]]'' his universe's [[Characters/MarvelComicsJeanGrey Phoenix]], who's given Galactus a hard time, and if that isn't enough to convince you New Sun is [[https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ryxKGvFi6UI/VkxlM7cbDyI/AAAAAAAAPEM/yAp4hLr9y8Q/s1600-Ic42/RCO007.jpg implied]] to have also killed Apocalypse as well. New Sun was so powerful that he couldn't control his powers and [[PersonOfMassDestruction scorched the Earth to a crisp]]; [[spoiler:the great irony is New Sun is actually an evil AlternateSelf of [[Characters/MarvelComicsGambit Gambit]]]], who's considered one of the weaker X-Men members. As it turns out, if Gambit didn't go to Mister Sinister to have some of his brain tissue removed in order to better control his powers, his ability to manipulate kinetic energy would've eventually evolved into "Total Kinetic Control", allowing him to do so at the molecular level and on a ''far'' greater destructive scale.]]

** Characters/{{Juggernaut}} is a hypothetical example. He draws functionally limitless power from the magical Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, but as a result his exact power is dependent on the whims of the deity he draws it from. At his absolute peak, he can punch holes ''through dimensions'', overwhelm the Green Scar Hulk head-on, overpower Thor, and manages to be ''completely'' invulnerable and unkillable, full stop. More often than not, though, he is used as a garden variety heavy hitter or is there for TheWorfEffect. Even then, it still takes an entire team of X-Men to remove his helmet so Professor X can exploit his AchillesHeel.

When he activates the Azure Grimoire, however, only the absolute strongest characters in the entire series can hope to match him. This, combined with him [[spoiler: staying strong while others are getting weaker due to the Embryo's effects and a DangerousForbiddenTechnique]] is the reason why, in the end, he's the only character that's in the same ball park as [[spoiler:Susano'o, a PhysicalGod]].
** Hakumen is by far, ''the'' most powerful character in the cast (well until the introduction of [[spoiler:Susano'o, who uses [[AnimatedArmor the exact same body]] as him]]). Even at ''[[WorfHadTheFlu a quarter]]'' [[WorfHadTheFlu of his full power]], he can defeat most of the cast. The only other beings considered in the same league as him at full power are other prime Six Heroes like [[BigGood Jubei]] (the "strongest living creature in existence" at his prime during Dark War and still sufficiently powerful in the present), Terumi, Relius, Izanami, Onlookers, Ragna with [[LetsGetDangerous the Idea Engine's limiter on the Azure Grimoire removed]], and Azrael (likely at full power).
** Azrael is the strongest fighter of the entire cast in terms of physical strength, especially since his powers aren't the result of magic or technology ''and'' he appears to have limitless stamina. To put it simply, even Hakumen found fleeing to be a preferable alternative than continuing his battle with Azrael.
** Jūbei, a cat who is word for word described as the world's strongest living being. His powers, or at least the full extent of them, have never been shown within the series thus far. However, being one of the Six Heroes, he is likely exceptionally powerful, and several powerful figures in the ''BB'' cast, amongst them Hakumen and Terumi, agree with the claim that Jūbei is the strongest creature alive. Hakumen stated during the Dark War, where he was at full power, that even if he were to go all-out, even he may not be able to defeat Jūbei. It is implied that Jūbei is nigh-undefeatable in combat as none have dared to engage in battle against him. This is furthered by the fact that when he catches Hazama off guard in Hazama's gag scenario, Hazama seems to just accept the fact that Jūbei will kill him and does not even try to put up a fight, as well as the fact that Jūbei casually [[PunchCatch intercepts a punch]] thrown by the game's resident MightyGlacier, Iron Tager. In Taokaka's ''[[VideoGame/BlazBlue Continuum Shift]]'' Story Mode, [[MadScientist Relius]] admits that he would be no match for Jubei. [[spoiler:Prior to receiving [[WoundThatWillNotHeal his injuries]], anyway.]]
** [[spoiler:Susano'o -- Terumi's true idenity once he forcibly reclaims the Susano'o Unit from Hakumen -- is the strongest character of the entire series. Considering Terumi and Hakumen were already two of the most powerful characters in the series, you can imagine how ridiculously strong the combination of the two is. Case in point, he was able to [[CurbStompBattle effortlessly defeat Ragna, Jin, Noel, Izayoi and Jubei]] at the same time. Ragna says he's even stronger than Azrael. He's so powerful that it takes Ragna overloading the Idea Engine and activating the full power of the Azure Grimoire (nearly destroying his body in the process) to even come close to matching Susano'o. If not for [[AchillesHeel Terumi not being fully fused with the Susano'o Unit, giving Ragna the chance to rip him out of it]], he would be completely unstoppable.]]
* ''Franchise/{{Castlevania}}'':
** {{Dracula}} is the strongest, most powerful character in the whole series as well as being an InvincibleVillain to boot... Dracula is so omnipotent that even '''[[TheGrimReaper Death]]''' is just [[TheDragon his henchman]]. Being immortal Dracula will return every 100 years once he's been "killed" which has led to the [[BadassFamily Belmonts]] fighting him for millennia as their ArchEnemy. It took Julius Belmont, Dracula's {{Dhampyr}} son Alucard, and several others to permanently put the Count down (by trapping his castle in a solar eclipse and cutting off the Dark Lord from his source of power)... [[spoiler:but then he just reincarnates as [[VideoGame/CastlevaniaChroniclesOfSorrow Soma Cruz]] a few decades later]].
** As for strongest VampireHunter it probably comes down to either Richter Belmont from ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaRondoOfBlood'', whose power Alucard admits are "supreme among vampire hunters" to the point that no else can beat him... ''or'' Juilus Belmont from ''Aria of Sorrow'', who is dubbed "the most powerful Vampire Hunter" and technically the only Belmont who truly killed Dracula in 1999.
** The strongest female character (not including she-vamps like Carmilla) is undoubtedly Shanoa from ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaOrderOfEcclesia''. Her [[VoluntaryShapeshifting shapeshifting powers]] make her more versatile than [[VideoGame/CastlevaniaLegends Sonia Belmont]] (previous female protagonist) and Shanoa is strong enough for Dracula to compare her directly to the Belmont clan in terms of power.
** In the ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaLordsOfShadow'' games, Gabriel Belmont, the Founder of the entire clan in the AlternateContinuity, was already the strongest man alive, with it specifically being said that he was the most powerful warrior in the entire Brotherhood of Light, which is composed of thousands of well-trained individuals, even compared to his later descendants. He can casually defeat and kill even powerful monsters, including even taking down an actual god and killing two of three of the Lords of Shadow, essentially the MonsterProgenitor of the Vampires and Werewolves, with the third and strongest Lord of Shadows being afraid of Gabriel's strength and using the underhanded means of placing in his arm the Dark Gauntlet that could allow him to control Gabriel and thus make him the only person Gabriel can't defeat. After that, Gabriel defeats Satan himself, albeit granted Satan was in a weakened state, physically overpowering him and magically besting him before sealing him back. He is also able to battle the Forgotten One, the sovereign of the elemental plane of darkness, even more powerful than Satan himself, although the demon was just at a fraction of his strength and he couldn't possibly fight him at his height.
*** By the time he's absorbed the Forgotten One's strength and kills him with a swipe of his hand, Gabriel becomes the Dracula of the Lords of Shadow and is effectively the most powerful being the world has ever seen, if not the single strongest entity in ''all'' of Castlevania, apart from God, though he doesn't count. Just his feelings alone could create weapons of great magical power, and he was in command of all the hordes of dark creatures, actually using his reign of terror ''for'' some measure of goodness in that he isn't as evil as Satan and Zobek, but his strength has exceeded them a long time ago to where they wouldn't dare fight him, effectively meaning he's the BarrierMaiden to the dark forces who are even worse than him in terms of sheer evil but inferior in terms of raw strength. The single time he is defeated, it's obvious that Gabriel threw the fight because it was against his son and grandson, with it specifically being indicated he could have killed them several times over. ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaLordsOfShadow2'' displays just how overwhelmingly mighty Gabriel as Dracula is as he casually fights the entire Brotherhood of Light, with even the Paladin Roland De Ronceval being only a moderate challenge, before overpowering a holy spell cast by Roland and turning it against him to create a devastating explosion that all but utterly destroyed the entire organization. Even with his power fractured, he is still able to casually hand CurbStompBattle to the dark creatures who turned against him and defeat Satan's Acolyte. He's only ever defeated by the second acolyte due to him having the HomeFieldAdvantage, and as soon as it is gone, he instantly recovers from the pummeling and quickly kills him. At the final stage of his quest for redemption, which marks the end of his long journey against evil and starts his new life with his restored family, Dracula defeats Zobek while hardly even breaking a sweat and he overpowers Satan at his full strength, even despite Satan using his son's body warranting him to hold back, before killing the Devil once and for all, clarifying his status as the single mightiest creature alive in the world.
* ''VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}}'':
** [[HornyDevils Morrigan Aensland]] is likeliest contender for strongest female character and strongest Darkstalker in general, being a [[PhysicalGod S]]-[[PowerLevels Class]] succubus. Although Demitri, Pyron and DarkMessiah Jedah have all given Morrigan a run for her money at multiple points, Morrigan's potential exceeds them all as she's so powerful her father Belial Aensland had to split her soul apart, concluding that she would [[SuperpowerMeltdown destroy herself]] [[PowerIncontinence otherwise]]. Judging by Morrigan's ending in ''Darkstalkers 3'', [[spoiler:where she [[FusionDance fuses with]] Lillth ([[SplitAtBirth the remaining third of Morrigan's soul given shape by Jedah]])]], this doesn't seem to be the case.
** [[BadassAdorable Anita]] is likely more powerful than even Morrigan. Even Jedah just about craps himself in her presence and it's strongly hinted that she's the true "ruler" of Makai that Jedah speaks of.
** The aforementioned Belial bears mention, being not only the strongest of the Three High Nobles of Makai (which also included Jedah) but a Class ''[[RankInflation S+]]'' Darkstalker. When Demitri (a Class A) [[SuicidalOverconfidence had the gall to challenge him for the throne]], Belial responded by flinging Demitri and his castle out of reality, exiling him to the human world in the process -- a drubbing that Demitri [[WorfHadTheFlu hadn't fully recovered from]] by the time the first game rolled around. Jedah considers Belial's death prior to the events of the third game [[FisherKing a major factor in the collapse of Makai]] (hence his AssimilationPlot), and the fact that Belial sees Morrigan as having the potential to [[SuperiorSuccessor surpass him]] speaks volumes about her power.
** [[{{Dhampyr}} Donovan]] [[HunterOfHisOwnKind Baine]] is this, at least in the [[Anime/NightWarriorsDarkstalkersRevenge the OVA]]. In the climax, after getting a HeroicSecondWind by accepting his demonic blood, Donovan singlehandedly defeats super alien Pyron, the BigBad who ran roughshod over every other Darkstalker up until that point, albeit with help from the aforementioned Anita.
** As far as mortals go, FakeCutie Baby Bonnie Hood (or Bulleta in Japan) is the strongest human being, able go toe to toe with the A and S Class demons with [[BadassNormal nothing but]] her own strength, [[CombatPragmatist tricks]], bombs, and MoreDakka. This is especially notable considering that Class B demons are at OneManArmy levels of power, able to solo an entire platoon of trained marines, and most of the cast is B+ or higher.
* ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'':
** Sparda the Legendary Dark Knight was the strongest demon who ever lived in addition to being the WorldsBestWarrior (until his sons came along). In his time, Sparda "[[DefectorFromDecadence woke up to justice]]" and [[OneManArmy singlehandedly]] defeated [[SatanicArchetype Mundus, the "Prince of Darkness"]] along with [[TheLegionsOfHell his army]] before closing the gate to Demon World. After his death, Sparda was worshiped as a [[MessianicArchetype a deity]] and two of the major villains of the series seek to gain Sparda's great power, [[EvilCannotComprehendGood not understanding]] that Sparda's [[ThePowerOfLove humane side]] was the true source of his strength.
** Vergil, Sparda's first son, seeks to become the world strongest man/demon by gaining [[CoolSword the power]] of his father ''through any means necessary'', but already begins high up on the food chain. At the start of ''[[VideoGame/DevilMayCry3DantesAwakening DMC3]]'' he [[EstablishingCharacterMoment proves his strength]] by effortlessly killing the mini-boss [[WakeUpCallBoss that was giving Dante a challenge in Mission 2]] and then [[CurbStompBattle wrecks]] his younger brother in a duel. However, when Dante unlocks his [[SuperMode Devil Trigger]], he manages to fight Vergil to a stalemate in their rematch and outright defeat him in the FinalBattle, though by then Vergil had acknowledged his bro as a WorthyOpponent. Afterward, Vergil proceeds to bite off more than he can chew by challenging Mundus following his entrapment in Demon World, figuring he can replicate his father's feat. He ends up [[ReforgedIntoAMinion serving Mundus]] as [[BrainwashedAndCrazy Nelo Angelo]] for his troubles, with his next set of encounters with Dante more or less echoing the events of ''3'' (clear advantage in their first duel, only to be soundly defeated the next two times). [[spoiler:In ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry5'', he [[LiteralSplitPersonality splits into two beings representing his demon and human sides]] that each gain power that, when they recombine near the end of the game, is enough to let him break even with Dante despite his brother having taken ''many'' [[TookALevelBadass levels in badass]] since their battle in the original ''DMC'' that ended with his death.]]
** [[TheAce Dante]] doesn't take long to establish himself as the strongest warrior in the ''DMC'' verse bar none. In his first outing, he avenges his mother and finishes where his father left off by [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu wrecking Mundus]] (who beat Vergil) and [[SealedEvilInACan sealing him away]] (though he requires the power of Sparda for the first two phases of the battle and delivers the finishing blow [[CombinedEnergyAttack with Trish's help]]). ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry2'' sees Dante plowing through Arius and his demon horde like it's nothing, culminating in the devil hunter killing a recently revived demon king once fought by Sparda (Argosax) without ever once [[SuperMode activating his Devil Trigger]]. By the time of ''[[VideoGame/DevilMayCry4 DMC4]]'' (where Dante is noted in the instruction manual and in-game gallery to have [[SuperiorSuccessor surpassed his father]]), not even [[PhysicalGod the Savior]], [[AttackOfThe50FootWhatever a colossal statue in Sparda's likeness]], is a credible threat: Dante is seen easily [[PunchCatch catching]] its gigantic fist with [[SuperStrength his demonic strength]] and that's after slicing the Savior up with ImplausibleFencingPowers. [[spoiler:It's suggested Dante could've defeated the Savior on his own, and without much difficulty at that; the only reason he didn't was because [[CoolUncle he wanted to give his nephew]] Nero a chance to shine.]] ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry5'' [[spoiler:then subverts this when Dante finds himself on the wrong end of a CurbStompBattle from Urizen (who is actually Vergil's demon half, now separated from his human morality and [[TheUnfettered completely unrestrained]]) in the beginning of the game, one that ends with his Devil Trigger overpowered and his [[CoolSword Rebellion]] [[WreckedWeapon shattered]]. Dante then fuses with both Rebellion's remains and the devil sword Sparda [[NextTierPowerUp to unlock a new Devil Trigger and gain a new personal Devil Arm (the Devil Sword Dante)]], allowing him to defeat Urizen (who further powered up by eating the fruit of the Qliphoth Tree, the source of Mundus's own {{Physical God}}hood), though he's only able to break even with the [[CameBackStrong newly resurrected and far stronger]] Vergil]].
** In a triple twist, the final mission of ''[=DMC5=]'' possibly suggests [[spoiler:Nero with his new Devil Trigger]] [[AlwaysSomeoneBetter may]] be the strongest now, as [[spoiler:he manages to hold back Vergil and Dante, both in their Sin Devil Trigger forms, simultaneously. However, it should be noted Nero dropped into the fight after Dante and Vergil [[WorfHadTheFlu had been worn out somewhat]] from their attempted DuelToTheDeath and Vergil, having just learned from Dante that [[LukeIAmYourFather Nero is his son]] and lacking [[ItsPersonal the]] [[SiblingRivalry motivation]] to make a serious attempt on Nero's life, pulls his punches in the ensuing battle; how Nero would fare against them at full strength is still questionable. Considering a combined [[OffhandBackhand backhand]] from Dante and Vergil could incapacitate Nero, Nero likely falls behind his father and uncle, though to be fair it ''was'' a surprise attack.]]
* ''VideoGame/{{Extrapower}}'': Hero Zophy is a normal human who has built himself up to physical perfection through a lifetime of training. ''[[VideoGame/ExtrapowerGiantFist Giant Fist]]'' gets to show this off by giving Zophy the opportunity to casually lift bears or elephants, break [[DurableDeathtrap DurableDeathtraps]] with his hands and feet, and avoid an IndyEscape by just lifting the boulder and throwing it back at his attackers!
* ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'':
** In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI'', Sabin Rene Figaro easily takes the World's Strongest Man title. While other members of the cast like Terra and Celes are more "magically powerful" than him, Sabin -- with just his KiManipulation and pure BareFistedMonk physical strength -- is able to beat the piss out of the likes of Typhon (who is able to flip the Planet upside-down with its power), Gilgamesh, and Shinryu. In-story, he clobbered BigBad Kefka so hard in Doma, the MonsterClown literally flees from his onslaught. Of course, even when Kefka has become a literal god, he still isn't safe from Sabin's fists. On a comparatively mundane but memorable level, Sabin also bears the memetic distinction of being able to {{suplex|Finisher}} a GhostTrain so hard he destroys it.
** In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII'', Ultimecia is stated to be the most powerful sorceress in history. As such, she added all of the sorceress power in existence to her already tremendous magic power, gaining god-like abilities. Ultimecia even has complete control over Space-Time magic and can warp reality to deceive her enemies, culminating in her ultimate goal of "time compression", [[TimeCrash a singularity where all of time and space is condensed into a single moment]]. This is isn't even counting her OneWingedAngel forms in the final battle; in her final form, her powers have skyrocketed to PhysicalGoddess levels, becoming the single greatest threat in existence that must be stopped.
** ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII'' and [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII2 its]] [[VideoGame/LightningReturnsFinalFantasyXIII sequels]] have Lightning. While not necessarily the strongest member of her party in the first game (as all of the party members are l'Cie and [[spoiler:Fang and Vanille additionally are two halves of Ragnarok, the legendary beast destined to destroy Cocoon]]), but she officially becomes this after becoming the champion of Etro, Goddess of Death, in ''XIII-2''. This allows her to fight on par with Caius Ballad, who has the Heart of Chaos -- Etro's very own heart -- that makes him immortal and gives him control over the power of chaos, allowing him to travel through time and transform into Chaos Bahamut. As the Savior in the third game, Lightning becomes so strong she manages to [[spoiler:kill/seal Bhunivelze, a PhysicalGod within the ''Franchise/{{Fabula Nova Crystallis|FinalFantasy}}'' mythology]]. This feat alone arguably makes her the strongest protagonist in the entire ''Final Fantasy'' franchise, a title that Motomu Toriyama, director of the ''XIII'' series, agrees with.
* ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII'' and the subsequent ''Franchise/CompilationOfFinalFantasyVII'' deserve their own separate mention.
** Sephiroth is the biggest example of the strongest being in the ''Compilation'', which even extends to crossovers.
*** He's called both the strongest being and [[WorldsBestWarrior the greatest warrior]] on the Planet by pretty much everyone: Being the most powerful fighter of the NGOSuperpower of the game and responsible singlehandedly for many of its victories, Sephiroth's might was said to be so great that the tall tales of his abilities actually ''understate'' him rather than the opposite. The creators themselves have stated that there's nothing stronger than him in the world. True, Cloud and company do defeat him (three times counting ''[[Anime/FinalFantasyVIIAdventChildren Advent Children]]'') but according to Hironobu Sakaguchi (''Franchise/FinalFantasy''[='s=] creator), Sephiroth was still [[IAmNotLeftHanded holding back]] against [[TheTeam AVALANCHE]]. The developers also confirmed his defeats at Cloud's hands that didn't have Sephiroth being taken by surprise or weakened previously were only possible due to Sephiroth's hatred of Cloud and hubris making him hold back from killing Cloud as quickly as possible and instead toy with him, and even then is Sephiroth still shown to be easily more than a match for Cloud until Cloud gets the HeroicSecondWind needed to put him down. This is really driven in by ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIIRemake'', where he takes on the entire party five-on-one in his human form. Although he was being pressured, his overall demeanor makes it evident he still wasn't going all-out, apparently as he still needs the party or at least Cloud for his new plans, and Sephiroth subjects Cloud to a CurbStompBattle, easily disarming him in the process. Just to hammer the point home, [[spoiler:the penultimate boss is a {{Kaiju}}-sized embodiment of fate that's implied to be fighting the party because trying to stop Sephiroth would be outside its abilities]].
*** In the ''VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy'' series, where Sephiroth and various other powerful main villains from across the ''Final Fantasy'' series are subservient to the PhysicalGod that is Chaos and the heroic side is comprised of the best heroes of their own games, Sephiroth is feared and respected by ally and foe alike. In fact, it's suggested Sephiroth is the strongest fighter on Chaos's side, possibly surpassed only by the gods and Shinryu themselves. He's the only one who has ever defeated a Warrior of Cosmos on his own (Firion and Tifa), and he has even taken on three of them at the same time (Tidus, Cecil, and Firion) and walked away. Even the Warrior of Light, [[TheChampion Cosmos's second-in-command]], can't truly beat him, with Sephiroth being casual about it and the Warrior being shocked by just how powerful and different he is from the others, while Lightning, who is indicated to be on par with the Warrior and has [[spoiler:defeated her world's PhysicalGod]], is nearly beaten by him as well. Cloud may have defeated him, but it's specifically made clear that he has only ever beaten him because Sephiroth allowed him to win. When Sephiroth finally lets loose in ''[[VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy2015 NT]]'', Cloud ends up being the loser.
*** In ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'', Sephiroth is portrayed as [[EnemyWithout Cloud's darkness]] and while he's weaker than his main counterpart, he's still a strong fighter, even serving as a tougher-than-the-FinalBoss [[BonusBoss superboss]] in ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsI'' and ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII''. When defeated by Sora, he calmly states that only Cloud can defeat him, implying that he wasn't taking his fight with Sora seriously. Cloud himself struggles to keep pace with Sephiroth until he's rallied on by Tifa (implied to be Cloud's inner light in this continuity) in his time of need, and the final outcome of their battle isn't shown.
*** In ''VideoGame/MobiusFinalFantasy'', he not only repeatedly stomps Cloud, very nearly killing him, but he also beats the main hero ''and'' Cloud. Cloud specifically makes it clear that Sephiroth is the strongest fighter in his universe.
*** In ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'', he's described as having "boss-level strength" as a character and is considered to be one of the best characters playable. Perhaps most of all, while his true might is only seen in his reveal trailer, said trailer shows Sephiroth effortlessly slicing down Galeem, the FinalBoss of World of Light and a PhysicalGod capable of ''wiping nearly out all existence in the universe'', and plowing through a majority of the ''Smash Bros.'' cast (including characters who'd qualify for this trope or StoryBreakerPower in their own games, such as VideoGame/{{Bayonetta}}), even recovering from Cloud's Omnislash Version 5 and activating his strongest form, Safer Sephiroth, in response (though the trailer ends before we see the outcome).
** Although usually not quite near Sephiroth's own level of strength, Cloud Strife can also claim this title after he defeated Sephiroth three times, albeit with Sephiroth either taken by surprise or holding back. Before being injected with Mako energy and Jenova cells, he was strong enough to lift and throw a weakened Sephiroth while being impaled using sheer willpower. After being experimented on, he was powerful enough to help defeat Sephiroth who became stronger after entering and merging with the Lifestream and was ultimately the one who dealt the finishing blow. By the time of ''[[Anime/FinalFantasyVIIAdventChildren Advent Children]]'' two years later, Cloud has grown even stronger and was able to contend with the three remnants of Sephiroth [[WorfHadTheFlu despite being ill with Geostigma]], and [[HesBack once he's cured]], Cloud completely dominates Kadaj in a [=1v1=] duel. He's able to slice Bahamut SIN, which was stated to be the second strongest form of Bahamut in the ''FFVII'' series, in half with [[FastballSpecial some help from his friends]]. While he is once again overpowered by Sephiroth in terms of overall might, he still ends up winning by using all his power in an emotion-driven attack that one-shots him. He can be considered the strongest man alive and active until Genesis's return to activity in ''VideoGame/DirgeOfCerberus'' (who as a SOLDIER 1ST Class able to fight even Sephiroth would plausably be above Cloud, or at least equal given the latter's own feats). The aforementioned Sephiroth trailer for ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'' depicts Cloud as literally the only member of the roster able to go toe to toe with the One-Winged Angel, even briefly overwhelming Sephiroth with Omnislash Ver. 5 exactly like he did in ''Advent Children''.
** Arguably an even stronger candidate for the title of the strongest man would be Zack Fair, particularly if one goes by ''VideoGame/CrisisCore'' and its version of events. Already an exceptional SOLDIER with the might to casually take out entire groups of enemies and defeat Summons, Zack steadily grew stronger to the point of defeating Angeal and Genesis, who are two of the three best SOLDIER First Class -- made even more impressive by [[spoiler:how they are revealed to have been the Jenova Project's second greatest under only Sephiroth himself and were powered up into giant monsters at the time]]. While Cloud needed support from his friends to kill Bahamut SIN, Zack was able to defeat the even stronger Bahamut Fury by himself, suggesting he is even stronger than Cloud's peak and the entire party in their diminished state. The only character whose strength definitely surpasses his is Sephiroth, and even he had to put in a significant amount of his strength to beat Zack, who managed to last quite a while and, according to ''Crisis Core'', wore Sephiroth down enough for Cloud to be able to defeat him in the first place. His last act was to take out hundreds of Shinra's goons, leaving only three, and [[spoiler:in ''Remake'' he even defeats them all and survives!]] Overall, with Sephiroth hardly even able to be considered a human anymore, Zack is possibly the mightiest human in the series, both enhanced and unenhanced.
** Tifa Lockhart likely takes the title of strongest unempowered (or not) character and female character in ''FFVII''. Her world-traveled mentor Zangan considers her his top student out of over a hundred and her [[SuperStrength massive physical strength]] has Tifa able to pick up and [[WrestlerInAllOfUs piledrive]] the humongous Ancient Weapons of the Planet like they're toys. During the FastballSpecial against in Bahamut SIN in ''Advent Children'', her contributing throw for Cloud is shown to be far more effective than any others. In the fight with Sephiroth himself in ''[[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIIRemake Remake]]'', her response is to straight-up somersault kick the guy, sending him flying and giving the others pivotal time to get up. The ''Remake'' continuity additionally shows that Tifa has impressive KiManipulation, making her powerful enough to be directly comparable to the Lifestream- and Mako-empowered Sephiroth and Cloud in terms of strength and power.
* ''VideoGame/GodOfWar'' has Kratos as the strongest being in both the Greek and Norse Era's.
** If there was anything or anyone else stronger than him in Greece, it's because he wasn't there to kill it. He starts off a powerhouse, and then powers up exponentially throughout the series, reaching levels to where he can overpower and kill members of the Greek Pantheon and Titans, at times even with his bare hands. He has even been able to defeat Thanatos himself, the Primordial God of Death! Granted, Thanatos did nearly win, and he ended up killing Deimos, who previously defeated him only because Kratos allowed him to, but when Kratos unleashed all his power, he ends up being the victor.
** After moving to Midgard in [[VideoGame/GodOfWarPS4 the PS4 installment]], it's clear he's still one of the strongest, if not ''the'' strongest being there. The developers confirmed that they had to restrain his abilities here because he is taking care of his son, placing the burden of having to hide his powers as he doesn't want Atreus to know he is a god, and if he were to be allowed to use [[StoryBreakerPower his full power during regular gameplay]], the game would be too easy. Even with such restrictions, he can still casually kill off normal creatures and remains able to kill gods, as displayed by his victories over Baldur and Magni. While he does struggle against them because of such reasons, his final struggle against Baldur is so difficult primarily because even with the fact that Atreus knowing he is a god has removed his restraints, he is still burdened with protecting his child as Atreus is hardly prepared to fight such a high-level opponent. When they fight solo, Kratos repeatedly ''murders'' Baldur and it's only his invulnerability that keeps him from dying for real. Even the TopGod of the Aesir, Odin, is afraid of him by the end where he is confirmed to be a participant of Ragnarok.
* Magnus from ''VideoGame/KidIcarusUprising'' is a very muscular human with a sword almost as large as his body (when Pit uses it, the game classifies it as a club) and able to easily hold his own against The Underworld Army [[spoiler:and Palutena's Army]] on his own when almost every other human gets slaughtered [[spoiler:or in the case of his friend Gaol, uses a suit of [[ClothesMakeTheSuperman magical armor]] to level the playing field]]. When Pit first meets Magnus, he questions whether he's even human.
* In ''VideoGame/KillerInstinct'', Tyler-Johnson "T.J Combo" Garrett is considered by Ultratech to be the greatest human fighter in the world. You ''could'' make the argument that Black Orchid is better due to the fact she has ''[[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu killed a God]]'' before, but she has magic powers; T.J fights in a tournament with an alien, a cybernetic killing machine, a genetically engineered dinosaur, a skeletal warrior, and a man who is made of fire ''[[BadassNormal with only his fists]]''.
* ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'':
** Mickey Mouse is all but confirmed to be the strongest Keyblade Master on the side of the light. WordOfGod specifically notes that he was the strongest character in [[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsI the first game]], Yen Sid outright states Mickey is stronger than Sora and Riku, and later installments show he is still stronger than any other hero, being generally held in high regard by all of them and even [[VillainRespect earning the respect of Xehanort himself]]. He is the primary OneManArmy and TheWorfEffect comparisons among the heroes, with an uncanny work style that has him primarily act alone and handle himself well whereas Sora and the others would need teamwork, being able to one-shot powerful Heartlesses and Nobodies that give many other characters trouble and storm entire castles of such enemies without a scratch. ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'' even turns this status into [[BigDamnHeroes a gameplay mechanic]], with Mickey having the potential to mow down some of the strongest bosses and make it easy for Sora to finish the fight, along with being among the strongest allies who can aid Sora in battle. In ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsCoded'', Mickey proves able to easily weaken the data of Sora's Heartless that had been beating down Data Sora. Even in ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsIII'', Mickey's superior strength is still evident: [[spoiler:He is able to force the Demon Tide to flee by himself after it had knocked out Riku; is able to fight Xemnas, Larxene, Marluxia, and Luxord by himself for quite some time; and after he, Sora, and Riku defeated Ansem, Xemnas, and Young Xehanort, he is the only one who is strong enough to push back Master Xehanort a bit using his Ultima spell before Xehanort's Stopza spell overpowers it.]] Taken further in the ''Re:Mind'' DLC, where when pushed and left alone against [[spoiler:13 Replica Xehanorts]], Mickey displays what he is fully capable of and singlehandedly defeats all of them!
** Master Xehanort is stated to have been the most powerful Keyblade Wielder of them all according to his character file in ''[[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsIII III]]'', and even in his old age he can still give powerful Keyblade Master-level opponents a good run for their money, thanks to combination of immense strength and a nearly unrivaled command of magic. In ''[[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsBirthBySleep Birth by Sleep]]'', he leaves the World of Departure in complete ruins with a single spell, can overpower Terra (the physically strongest member of the Wayfinder Trio) in direct battle, and was able to grab and lift Ventus with one hand, crushing his armored helmet and then freezing Ventus solid with an ice spell. In ''III'', [[spoiler:Xehanort casts a Stopza spell to repel and overpower Mickey's Ultima spell during the climax of the second Keyblade War (though Mickey wasn't at his full strength as he was worn out after repeated battles). He later absorbs his Replicas into himself and is able to manipulate the structure of Scala ad Caelum at will, then wields both the legendary χ-blade and the power of Kingdom Hearts in his final battle against Sora, resulting in a NearVillainVictory that's only thwarted when Donald and Goofy bring Sora back from the brink and [[ThePowerOfFriendship help him triumph over Xehanort]].]]
** Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, is the most powerful Heartless in the series. He has the power to control other Heartless and he's one of the rare Heartless that has retained both his form and his intelligence. Ansem can manipulate darkness into different weapons and use his {{Guardian|Entity}} to help him in combat, as well as transform into two different OneWingedAngel forms in ''[[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsI I]]'' and ''[[VideoGame/KingdomHearts3DDreamDropDistance Dream Drop Distance]]'' to become stronger. Even without his Guardian can he still give Keyblade Wielders a tough fight.
** Xemnas is the original and most powerful of all the Nobodies as well as the strongest member of the original Organization XIII. He has the PowerOfTheVoid, most commonly manifested in the form of his personal weapons called Ethereal Blades, nothingness molded into the form of {{Laser Blade}}s that can also be fired as projectiles. He can even use this power to turn members of the Organization into Dusks if he so wishes. It's telling that Marluxia, the second strongest member of the Organization with his own slew of powerful abilities, wanted to bring Roxas (Sora's Nobody and the third strongest member at full power) into the fold before openly rebelling against Xemnas. After merging with his damaged artificial Kingdom Hearts, Xemnas' powers increased to the point where he could [[RealityWarper manipulate]] The World That Never Was, and in his final form, he could easily hold his own against [[BashBrothers Sora and Riku]] before he was finally taken down, nearly extracting Sora's heart from his body at one point and then damaging Riku's leg when he intercepted another attempted deathblow on Sora. According to Creator/TetsuyaNomura, Xemnas was the strongest being in the setting after his merger with Kingdom Hearts.
** A meta example: Donald Duck of all characters ended up becoming perhaps the most powerful mage in the series through his ability to [[spoiler:cast Zettaflare unassisted]], a feat only matched by godlike entities in other Creator/SquareEnix titles. While the move does exhaust him considerably, and it's ambiguous ''if he is even alive'' after that, it's still a shockingly impressive feat from the least likely of characters, with the implication that he's done this at least once before.
** The real strongest Keyblade Master and character would most certainly be the Master of Masters. Though little is known about him and he hasn't been seen fighting yet, [[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsX the Foretellers and Luxu]], extremely strong Keyblade Masters in their own right, all acknowledge he is on another level and that he has the power to forcibly stop all of them.
* Starting with his "first" appearance in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime'', Ganondorf has been fairly consistently portrayed as this in the world of ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda''. A brutal MagicKnight as a thief, he has become the destined bearer of the Triforce of Power, which literally imbues him with inexhaustible strength and magical power. The most prominent portrayal of this aspect is his first appearance in ''VideoGame/HyruleWarriors'': Ganondorf appears in the newly conquered Temple of Souls on his own with a fairly small army of stalkids at his back. Facing him is the united army of Hyrule; a huge army of Hylian soldiers led by Zelda, Impa, Darunia, Ruto, Midna, Agitha, Fi, ''and'' Link with the unleashed Master Sword. The Hylian reaction? A massive OhCrap followed by ''every single one of them fleeing for their lives''! In the following chapter, Ganondorf amasses an army to defeat Hyrule by marching into the Gerudo Desert and beating down every single monster there, defeating three giant beasts in order to further intimidate them into swearing loyalty to him.
* ''VideoGame/{{LISA}}: The Painful RPG'':
** Buzzo. You can ''try'' to fight him to avoid giving up an arm or a party member, but he is completely invincible and will "wreck"[[note]]This is the terminology that the game itself uses[[/note]] your entire party in one turn. It is possible to use poison to beat him through a {{Good Bad Bug|s}}, but that will just cause a NonStandardGameOver -- canonically, he can't be touched. It speaks volumes that Brad is able to fight against a man who could take a motorcycle to the back without flinching, yet Buzzo is a HopelessBossFight.
** PlayedForLaughs with Demon X, who at first seems like a joke. Fighting him reveals that he's invincible like Buzzo, instantly chopping your entire party, and giving you a NonstandardGameOver if you exploit poison to kill him. In spite of this, he's outsmarted when the Salvation Rangers go in to a door that the horns in his costume can't fit through. He later figures out how to get around the door by turning himself. [[spoiler:Namely, by tilting his head so that his horns go straight up and down.]]
* Dekar in ''VideoGame/LufiaIIRiseOfTheSinistrals'' boasts himself to be the world's strongest warrior [[MightyGlacier (which he actually is)]]. [[VideoGame/LufiaCurseOfTheSinistrals The remake]] makes him a JackOfAllStats MultiMeleeMaster, but he's still awesome and possesses the attack with the highest multi-target damage potential in the game.
* ''VideoGame/MassEffectAndromeda'': Humanity has only had [[MagicByAnyOtherName biotics]] for a generation and some spare change, so not only are human biotics exceptionally rare, but they're pretty weak compared to the other species that have them. Cora Harper is the most powerful human biotic in existence, to the point that she was able to toss cars around even without [[AmplifierArtifact a biotic amplifier]]. She ended up being not-quite thrown out of the human military because she was simply too powerful for them to deal with, and was sent to join the asari huntresses. The huntresses are the greatest biotics in the galaxy (''every'' asari is a biotic, and the huntresses are their elite units), but Cora was able to keep up with them, and graduated from their training with honors.
* ''Franchise/MegaMan'':
** From [[VideoGame/MegaManClassic the classic timeline]], there's Duo, an intergalactic police officer of nearly [[PlanetDestroyer planet-busting]] levels of power whose presence trivializes pretty much every threat in ''VideoGame/MegaMan8'', complete with an opening scene where he's halfway responsible for vaporizing part of Saturn. [[DeusExitMachina Naturally, the game continually finds ways to write him out of the plot so that he doesn't wrap up the conflict in minutes.]] If that wasn't enough, Duo himself may very well be a NormalFishInATinyPond; no other members of his organization are seen (with Duo's position in its hierarchy unknown), and [[EvilCounterpart the evil robot]] he clashes with at the start of the game is just about his equal, able to both visibly injure Duo (a feat only matched by that game's Wily Machine courtesy of a WaveMotionGun powered by an energy source originating from said robot) and deal enough damage to him that it takes half the game for Dr. Light to finish repairing Duo after he crash-lands on Earth.
** As far as [[VideoGame/MegaManX 20XX]] is concerned...
*** It's always been a toss-up between X and Zero, the former being the SuperPrototype of all Reploids and ultimate creation of Dr. Light, the latter being the ultimate creation of Dr. Wily. Even as X has continuously grown into using his power and surpassed all expectations to become a warrior capable of taking on and defeating planet-destroying threats, Zero has repeatedly shown himself to be the only one capable of equaling and even surpassing each benchmark X set. Notably, their fated battle in ''VideoGame/MegaManX5'' ends in a DoubleKnockout regardless of the circumstances (which, in one non-canon scenario, involves [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Zero being reawakened to his true nature]] by TheVirus).
*** [[BigBad Sigma]] was this briefly, being ''the'' most powerful and advanced Reploid of his time as expected of his position as [[AuthorityEqualsAsskicking leader of the Maverick Hunters]] at a time when X was still in his ReluctantWarrior phase unwilling to reach his full potential. He was even strong enough to fight evenly with an AxCrazy Zero, though he made the mistake of not taking Zero seriously until the latter got the edge and beat him to near-death and only won via well-timed distraction. After that and his [[DeathOfPersonality infection/merging with the Maverick Virus]], Sigma would go on to constantly have new battle bodies made and tested that would repeatedly prove themselves a match for X and Zero even at their best, though as his mind and sanity degraded from repeated failures and resurrections [[VillainDecay he lost this status and became more feared solely for his raw power than the fearsome intellect he paired with it]].
*** [[VideoGame/MegaManX6 High Max]] was a definite attempt to be this, designed by Gate with on-paper superior specs to both X ''and'' Zero which he [[SmugSuper proudly boasts about]]. While the first fight with X [[HopelessBossFight lends credence to it]], by the end of the game both X and Zero ''decisively'' prove him wrong when they destroy him.
** By the time of ''VideoGame/MegaManZero'', the most powerful Reploid on the planet is [[BeastOfTheApocalypse Omega]], a destroyer who caused a planet-wide war and disaster that the world hadn't fully recovered from even a century later, and who it took X ''and'' Zero [[spoiler:who despite being in an inferior copy body still had all his skills and experience]] post-''X'' series to just defeat, not kill him. [[spoiler:The irony, of course, being Omega is Zero's original body upgraded to its full potential as a pure killing machine, so it seems Zero was always the true World's Strongest Man between himself and X--though the power X wields as a Cyber-elf despite only being 1/5 of his original existence (the other four parts of his soul being used to the create the Guardians mentioned below, while his body served as the seal on the Dark Elf until the end of ''Z2'') calls this into question.]] When he reappears in the present, he defeats two of the Four Guardians (Reploids made with X's DNA who are at least near the same level as him) on his own at his weakest, and at his full power it takes Zero and the surviving three Guardians just to whittle him down, [[spoiler:and he still would have pulled through were it not for the Dark Elf overcoming its own brainwashing to turn back into the Mother Elf and negate Omega's HealingFactor]].
** By the time of ''VideoGame/MegaManZX'', it's basically the goal of TheChosenMany in the [[ThereCanBeOnlyOne Game of Destiny]] to solidify themselves as this in order to become the Mega Man King and receive the power of [[ArtifactOfDoom Model W]], but for specifics...
*** By the end of ''ZX'', Vent/Aile have in their possession Biometal Models [[PrecursorHeroes X, Z]], [[BlowYouAway H]], [[AnIcePerson L]], [[PlayingWithFire F]], and [[CastingAShadow P]] and the ability to switch between them on the fly. Due to how these Biometals were made by [[TeenGenius Ciel]], who created a physically perfect copy of X in her teens, this means they possess the powers of X, Zero, and the Four Guardians at their beck and call. Their feats back this up, as they defeat [[BrotherSisterTeam Prometheus and Pandora]] (who have centuries of battle experience under their belt), Serpent (who has his own Biometal Model W and further merges with a Model W Core that [[YourSoulIsMine absorbed hundreds if not thousands of Cyber Elves]] to power up), and Omega [[spoiler:Zero]] (albeit in [[BonusBoss a questionably canonical scenario]]). In ''Advent'', [[BroughtDownToBadass despite only using Model ZX]], they fight the Model A Mega Man (who possessed five Pseudoroid and four Mega Man forms on top of their normal Mega Man transformation) rather evenly and [[YouShallNotPass take on all four enemy Mega Men]] (who were using the stolen Four Guardian Biometals) to a standstill during the endgame, going strong the whole time.
*** [[BigBad Master Albert]] sought to become this in order to fulfill his plan to RestartTheWorld, merging all the Model W Cores into the ultimate Biometal {{Ouroboros}} and Megamerging with it at the end of ''Advent''. According to Albert, as the Mega Man King he's both the UltimateLifeForm and [[AGodAmI a god]], possessing the power to assimilate all life on the planet and [[PowerParasite wielding their powers]] at his beck and call in order to remake it as he sees fit.
*** The biggest contenders of all would be the Model A Mega Man Grey/Ashe in ''Advent'', who thanks to their [[PowerCopying A-Trans]] letting them gain the powers of their foes manage to defeat the enemy Four Guardian Mega Men, Model ZX Aile/Vent, Prometheus and Pandora, and ultimately even Albert himself despite him possessing [[spoiler:the superior A-Trans of Model W and {{Ouroboros}} with its world-rending power, along with Model A being just a pale imitation of Model W's full strength by Albert's own design]].

This reaches [[PhysicalGod its]] [[StoryBreakerPower zenith]] in [[VideoGame/MegaManBattleNetwork5TeamColonelAndTeamProtoMan the fifth game]]: [[spoiler:When faced with [[MadeOfEvil Nebula Gray]], [[TheHeartless the embodiment of the darkness lurking within mankind's souls]], [=MegaMan=] briefly accesses his full power and erases it ''with a wave of his hand''.]] The only reason [=MegaMan=] doesn't do this with any regularity is because not even Lan's custom-made, frequently upgraded PET can handle the sheer volume of data required for more than a few seconds without risking ExplosiveOverclocking. *** Bass is this [[UltimateLifeForm in theory]] and widely considered the strongest Navi in-story, designed to be able to operate solo and equipped with a Get Ability program that mimics the original series' PowerCopying. Not only does this draw parallels to X's infinite potential (as he can steal data from ''any'' digital lifeform or program), but Bass [[TheAssimilator uses it]] to obtain the powers of no less than '''three''' of the {{Digital Abomination}}s [=MegaMan=] beat down ([[VideoGame/MegaManBattleNetwork1 the Life Virus]], [[VideoGame/MegaManBattleNetwork2 Gospel]], and [[OneGameForThePriceOfTwo either]] [[VideoGame/MegaManBattleNetwork6CybeastGregarAndCybeastFalzar Cybeast Gregar or Cybeast Falzar]]). [[PersonOfMassDestruction To wit]], the idea of someone cloning him in the second game ''[[TheDreaded terrifies]]'' [[TheAce Chaud]], the player's first encounter with Bass in ''[[VideoGame/MegaManBattleNetwork3WhiteAndBlue Battle Network 3]]'' is a HopelessBossFight, he ([[CameBackWrong mostly]]) survives [[spoiler:being assimilated by a prototype version of the internet in the same game]], and Bass is a BonusBoss in all six games, almost always providing the toughest fight in the game aside of the TrueFinalBoss.
*** Serenade is the ruler of [[WretchedHive the Undernet]], [[AsskickingEqualsAuthority a position that is obtained by show of force]], and one of the few characters to have canonically defeated Bass (though the battle is said to have taken days to reach its conclusion and this was prior to Bass's FusionDance with Gospel). [[spoiler:The Jetstream DLC shows that Jetstream Sam's [[CoolSword Muramasa]], an exquisite [[OlderIsBetter 16th century]] {{katana|sAreJustBetter}} repurposed as a top-grade [[{{Vibroweapon}} HF Blade]], is capable of slicing through the {{nanomachines}} that make Armstrong nigh-unkillable. After inheriting the weapon from Bladewolf, Raiden manages to defeat Armstrong at end of ''Revengeance'', possibly making him the newest title bearer in ''Metal Gear'' (or the WorldsBestWarrior at the very least).]]

Though despite the HeroicBuild, Wesker is still just ''too strong'' to beat in a straight fight, leading to Chris and Sheva having to [[WorfHadTheFlu weaken Wesker]] with an injection just to stand a chance in the FinalBattle. At this point in the story, Wesker wasn't classified as human anymore, [[spoiler:and it took dumping Wesker [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill into a volcano and then shooting him with two RPGs]] to actually finish him off for good]].

Leon, for his part, went all OneManArmy on TheIlluminati in ''[[VideoGame/ResidentEvil4 RE4]]'', killed multiple [[MonstrousHumanoid Tyrants]], held open the jaws of a mutated shark, and was able to stagger the mutated BigBad of ''Anime/ResidentEvilVendetta'' with a single kick. When Chris and Leon fight in ''[[VideoGame/ResidentEvil6 RE6]]'', ''they're completely equal'' in close quarters combat, forcing them to draw guns on each other. Debates as to who's actually stronger still continue to this day.
** Jake Muller (Wesker's son) in ''[[VideoGame/ResidentEvil6 RE6]]'' is similarly superhuman and ''may'' be even stronger than Chris and Leon given he was able to [[MegatonPunch punch out]] the [[ImplacableMan Ustanak]] in the FinalBattle, though Jake still wasn't quite strong enough to finish off Ustanak without Sherry [[AttackItsWeakPoint helping him out]]. Comparatively, Chris and Leon have achieved similar or greater feats without any assistance at all.
** The strongest woman in ''Resident Evil'' is (somewhat) easier to answer. Despite almost all the main females characters knowing SheFu, it's [[ActionGirl Jill Valentine]] in particular who rises to the top with the amount she's accomplished. In ''[[VideoGame/ResidentEvil3Nemesis RE3]]'', she single handedly defeats the eponymous Nemesis, who is one of the strongest and near [[ImplacableMan unkillable]] monsters in the franchise. (In fact, [[VideoGame/ResidentEvil3Remake the remake]] has Jill lug around the incredibly heavy railgun used to kill Nemesis and ''personally ram it'' into the B.O.W. in what WordOfGod states is Jill's equivalent to the aforementioned "Boulder Punch" scene.) In ''[=RE5=]'' Jill becomes BrainwashedAndCrazy, being able to do similar moves to Wesker (i.e. easily overpower Chris), and it takes the combined efforts of both Chris and Sheva just to incapacitate her. What's more, Jill's body developed antibodies to TheVirus thanks to the previous games making Jill one of the few characters (alongside [[VideoGame/ResidentEvil2 Sherry Birkin]], [[VideoGame/ResidentEvilTheDarksideChronicles Manuela Hidalgo]] and initially Wesker) who becomes a bio-weapon [[PowerUpgradingDeformation without becoming monstrous as well]].
* ''VideoGame/StarWarsKnightsOfTheOldRepublic'' has Revan, who is both the strongest Jedi and Sith of his era. He studied both the light and dark sides of the Force and was able to channel them simultaneously, easily able to defeat his opponents with little effort.

Besides, you'd pretty much have to be the strongest to even qualify to make Grand Master. Eventually she loses this distinction to the Jedi Knight or Consular, who become more powerful than her towards the end of their class quests.
** Emperor Vitiate is the most powerful Force user of his time and one of the most powerful of all time, possibly only surpassed by ''ComicBook/DarkEmpire'' [[PhysicalGod Palpatine]] who was born over 3,000 years after his death (a source of debate among fans).

** [[BloodKnight Akuma]] is the strongest contender for the title.
*** In terms of scale, [[BigBad M. Bison]] possesses so much power he's considered a threat to the world and Akuma killed him effortlessly. Other notable feats include [[PersonOfMassDestruction sinking an entire island by PUNCHING IT]], walking around on the ocean floor [[BatmanCanBreatheInSpace without need of oxygen or protection from the crushing pressure]] and punching a submarine from there to the surface, splitting Ayers Rock in half (also by punching it), and raising ''a sunken ship out of the ocean'' using his Demon Armageddon/Tenshou Kaireki Jin. And if you want more, in his ''VideoGame/CapcomFightingEvolution'' ending, as Shin Akuma, he '''[[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome SHORYUKENS AN ASTEROID]]'''. This is to say nothing of the numerous cast members he has demolished in his quest to find someone who could [[WorthyOpponent match him]], with very few managing to battle him to a draw while he's holding back. In light of all this, his alternate outfit from ''[[VideoGame/StreetFighterIV Super Street Fighter IV]]'' is very befitting, looking like some kind of dark warlord.

** The strongest man (in terms of pure strength) is [[VideoGame/StreetFighterII Zangief]], who wrestles grizzly bears in the Siberian wilderness in his spare time. In ''VideoGame/StreetFighterV'', Zangief is able to NoSell a Psycho Power-infused attack from Satsuki, breaking her Masamune katana (folded over a 1000) like a stick... all by [[PecFlex flexing his pectoral muscles]].
** According to Ryu in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterV'', [[VideoGame/FinalFight Abigail]] (who is ''the'' largest character in the series) has more physical strength than any another character in the series. Luckily, he's also [[UnskilledButStrong completely devoid of technique]].
** [[VideoGame/StreetFighterI Ryu]] himself is a another contender for this title, having been taught by both Gouken and the aforementioned Oro, and succeeding in defeating M. Bison (three times), as well as [[VideoGame/StreetFighterIV Seth]] and [[VideoGame/StreetFighterV Necalli]]. In the ''Ryu Final'' manga (which is a DistantFinale), Ryu manages to kill Akuma by making peace within himself. In the (non-canon) comics and other media, Ryu has also overpowered Oni (essentially Akuma's OneWingedAngel form) with his own SuperpoweredEvilSide and even defeated DarkMessiah Gill.

As a GuestFighter in ''[[VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosForNintendo3DSAndWiiU Super Smash Bros. 4]]'', Ryu in his trailer is shown to able to beat up Mewtwo (one of the most powerful Pokémon ever) and even Ganondorf, who's an outright GodOfEvil at his best.
** Another top contender for World's Strongest Man is, surprisingly, [[VideoGame/FinalFight Cody Travers]]. While he was always a OneManArmy in his own series, defeating an entire criminal organization, his [[CanonImmigrant immigration]] into ''SF'' canon has portrayed him as so ridiculously strong that he [[WillfullyWeak handicaps himself on purpose]] by [[WithMyHandsTied wearing handcuffs]]. Even then, he's strong enough to [[CardboardPrison break out of prison on a regular basis]], voluntarily returning when he's bored of his time fighting in the outside world. If that weren't enough, Cody's win quote against Oni in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterIV'' has him ''proclaiming his excitement'' over getting a decent challenge at last. In the comics, when Cody removes his handcuffs, he knocks Ryu unconscious [[OneHitKill with a single uppercut]].
** [[VideoGame/StreetFighterII Chun-Li]] is the self-proclaimed "Strongest Woman in the World": [[BadassBoast "No Man Can Compare!"]] In addition to being trained by Gen, one of the few people who has given Akuma a genuine fight, she has some [[AmazonianBeauty incredibly sculpted]] [[ShesGotLegs legs]] [[KickChick that are put to good use in-battle]].
*** Though non-canon, UDON's ''ComicBook/StreetFighterVsDarkstalkers'', notably has Chun-Li, currently trapped within a PocketDimension in Makai, receive a NextTierPowerUp from the spirit of Gen via a DangerousForbiddenTechnique, using this power to find a weakness in the demon dimension '''[[DimensionalCutter and break a hole through it]]'''. After that, Chunners happily beats the daylights out of Morrigan, who as mentioned above is a S-Class demon powerful enough to defeat [[DarkMessiah Jedah]].
** [[VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha R. Mika]] is likely the strongest woman in terms of physical strength, given she's Zangief's pupil and knows "Muscle Power/Muscle Spirit". While she doesn't have Chun-Li's fabled thunder thighs, she ''does'' [[MusclesAreMeaningful have an overall bulkier physique compared to most of the female fighters]] (particularly in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterV'') and uses many power-based moves one would come to expect from a pro wrestler, including the [[HumanHammerThrow Giant Swing]]. Yes, she can perform all of them on the likes of Sagat, Zangief, and Abigail no problem.
* Duke in ''VideoGame/TalesOfVesperia'' was heralded as a hero in the war against the Entelexeia, beings that could wipe out entire towns single-handed.
* ''Franchise/{{Tekken}}'':
** The title probably goes to Craig Marduk. In his (non-canon) ending in ''VideoGame/Tekken5'', he's shown performing feats of strength such as grabbing all the ropes on a side of a boxing ring and simultaneously pulling them until they snap and punching one of the corner posts so hard it bends around his fist. One of his intros in ''[[VideoGame/Tekken7 7]]'', on the other hand, has him lifting up and ''tossing'' a SUV. The only characters in the series shown to exceed these feats were either supernatural beings or combat robots built for extreme strength, while Craig is a [[BadassNormal normal]] [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower human]].
** Another contender for the title of strongest mortal man in ''Tekken'' is Heihachi, who lacks the demonic powers and/or supernatural sensitivity of the other Mishima family members. Yet Heihachi can [[Anime/TekkenTheMotionPicture catch a hatchet/bullet with his teeth]], survive humongous explosions at point-blank range (as well as being flung ''miles'' away and crash-landing into rubble), and even overpower his Devil-powered son and grandson [[spoiler:and wife]]. [[spoiler:True, he was ultimately killed by his son Kazuya but only after he had beat his son '''out''' of his OneWingedAngel form and forced Kazuya to fight normally. He also survived Akuma's Raging Demon, which usually spells certain death for its victims, possibly implying Heihachi [[WorfHadTheFlu was already weakened]] during his final battle with Kazuya.]]

** Yuugi Hoshiguma. Oni are already feared and respected by everyone, from youkai to celestials, for the freakish strength they have that allows them to tear the sky and mountains apart with barely any effort. Among the oni, The Big Four of the Mountain are particularly infamous for their power, and among the four, [[RedBaron Yuugi the Strong]] is known for her physical strength.
** The two strongest contenders for the Strongest Woman of Gensokyo title, however, are the Youkai of Boundaries, Yukari Yakumo, who's borderline omnipotent within the realm, and Yuuka Kazami, the Youkai of Flowers, who despite not having a fancy special ability like Yukari does, compensates with pure, raw power. Youkai get StrongerWithAge. Yukari's age is undetermined, and all that's known of Yuuka is that she might as well be a TimeAbyss.
** Cirno proudly boasts of being "the strongest," sometimes adding "fairy." The problem is that ''Touhou'' fairies are idiot {{Mooks}}; while Cirno is indubitably the strongest and probably one of the smartest amongst them, she's still mentally an eight-year-old at most, and while she can be ''very'' dangerous, as seen in ''Fairy Wars'', she's too easily distracted to ever act on her true power.
** Even then there's the [[Myth/ClassicalMythology Lampad]]/Hell fairy, [[VillainousHarlequin Clownpiece]], who is, frankly speaking, ''[[ThatOneBoss strong]]'', so Cirno is just the strongest fairy in Gensokyo, anyway... and even that might not hold water any longer seeing as Clownpiece recently [[Manga/TouhouSangetsusei moved to Gensokyo]].
* ''VideoGame/TrailsSeries'':
** While many characters could apply, few can compare to [[PlayingWithFire McBurn]], an Enforcer of [[NebulousEvilOrganization Ouroboros]] and one of the strongest characters in the setting, to the point that most of the time the protagonists fight him, it's either a HeadsIWinTailsYouLose situation, or they actually manage to put up a fight, and in that case... he actually gets [[SuperMode serious]]. In gameplay terms, she's a PurposelyOverpowered GameBreaker that is generally considered the best playable Blade in the game (although this isn't the case after the DLC due to some of the Blades you get through the DLC Challenge Battle Pack, as well as Poppi QT Pi).
** [[spoiler:Jin is the strongest Blade in Torna and has the power to manipulate Elementary Particles]], meaning he can go faster than the speed of light which makes all of Mythra's powers completely worthless including Foresight and [[KamehameHadoken Siren's Particle Cannon]]. Rex gets absolutely destroyed by him in a matter of minutes and he's able to break Mythra's sword! [[spoiler:It's only when Rex gets a new power-up (Pneuma, which is the combined power of Mythra and Pyra) that Jin is able to be defeated.]]
** Malos, who is second-in-command of Torna, is an Aegis like Pyra/Mythra, thus making him equal in power to them (and by extension Pneuma) and far more powerful than Jin, he can manipulate [[DarkIsEvil the power of darkness]] as that is his element, wields an Aegis sword that resembles the Monado and he’s also powerful enough to destroy matter itself. As the FinalBoss of the game he controls the most powerful artifice Aion, which has the power to destroy all of Alrest.
** Zenobia is a PhysicalGoddess and as such is very strong indeed. In story terms she's so strong that every Unique Monster falls to her easily, [[VictoryIsBoring leaving her completely bored]]. When she finally has a WorthyOpponent to fight, she reveals that [[WillfullyWeak she was never taking the fight seriously until the very end]]. She admits, however, that she would never be able to defeat Mythra due to [[StrongAndSkilled Mythra being more skilled]].

** The most prominent and dominant contender for the title of the strongest in the entire series would be Kazuma Kiryu, the legendary Dragon of Dojima, which is only further augmented by the fact that he is also the most skilled fighter. The infamously deadly Amon Clan specifically consider him to be the "ultimate lifeform" after he repeatedly proves too strong despite their usage of many deadly technology and being extremely strong fighters in their own right, not only casually besting the Amon siblings, but also being particularly despised yet also acknowledged by Jo Amon, the leader of the clan. Be it strength, resilience, and speed, Kiryu easily displays the greatest amount of physical power: He is capable of curb-stomping dozens of enemies, going as far as to take out buildings and 100 Tojo Clan members while hardly breaking a sweat, can readily handle dangerous real beasts without much effort, and being bitten and attacked by them doesn't do much. Bullets are also of little threat to him, as he can easily react to them with his body and even if he does get shot, he can shrug off explosions caused by missiles and has survived repeated lethal shots to the end. He is also able to overpower some of the most formidable fighters of the underworld, including legendary individuals and strong fighters in charge, most prominent examples including the likes of Ryuji Goda, who happens to also have the nickname of the Dragon of Kansai, meaning Kiryu, after having also handily defeated Keiji Shibusawa, is the "true dragon", Akira Nishikiyama and Masato Aizawa, despite fighting the latter two Koi tattooed Yakuza in a weakened state and their dedication to acquiring the strength to defeat him having made them rigorously train themselves, Daigo Dojima and Masaru Watase, the reigning heads of Tojo and Omi, with the former straight up admitting he was no match for him, and regularly defeats Goro Majima, a fellow yakuza legend with the title of the Mad Dog of Shimano. [[VideoGame/YakuzaLikeADragon Even after his time has passed and he's in his 50s]], Kiryu's strength is still prominent and overwhelming, as displayed when he quite casually handles Kasuga Ichiban, a rising dragon in his own right, and his group, imagined to be so powerful that he was like a real dragon, and when he is summoned as an ally, his strength can create a large dragon and slam it at the target to be among the most powerful attacks available.
** The other candidate is Taiga Saejima. He has no legendary title unlike Kiryu or his sworn brother Majima and his "legendary act" was done by surprise and using a gun rather than physical prowess... But even so, he quickly establishes himself as the most physically powerful character, with all his moves capitalizing on his insanely overwhelming strength and physical resilience, along with having the sufficient speed, even if he isn't particularly reliant on acrobatics or agility. Saejima's abilities as a playable character have him accomplishing feats that not only rival Kiryu, but also at times even exceed his, such as picking up vehicles and slamming them on others, stopping a speeding car to move out of the way, ripping off extremely thick objects and swinging and using them against enemies with ease, and even slamming the ground with enough force to cause a shockwave as well as being able to grab heavyset sumo enemies that can push aside even Kiryu. Story-wise, he is the only fighter thus far who is capable of reaching an actual stalemate with Kiryu in a fair, all-out battle, keeping up with him pretty well in their first fight despite being injured, and reaching a DoubleKnockout in their second fight. The only time where Kiryu can defeat him is the Victory Road Tournament Finals, which is of dubious canonicity. Overall, while who is truly more powerful cannot be accurately estimated, Saejima can still reliably be considered the only person who can contest Kiryu's spot as the strongest character in the series. Likewise to Kiryu, he's defeated an Amon Clan member and does it without breaking much of a sweat, and he's won against Majima in all their fights as well. During a fight against Kasuga Ichiban and his group, with him and Majima working together, while both were holding back, Saejima is shown to be visibly less affected by the fight and even confidently states he'll get serious, indicating like Kiryu, he could have wiped the floor with them without much effort either. As a poundmate, Saejima, like Kiryu, can actually induce a disaster-like attack with sheer power alone, causing a huge cyclone just by spinning a metal object.

Madelyn Stillwell states "there isn't a weapon on Earth they haven't thrown at him that's worked". Whether this includes nuclear weapons or any kind of WMD isn't outright mentioned. If Homelander has any kind of physical weakness, it is as of yet unknown.
