* JRRTolkien's ''{{The Lord of the Rings}}'': "Instead of a Dark Lord, you would have a Queen! Beautiful yet terrible as the dawn. Treacherous as the sea! All would love me and despair!" This scene is almost LargeHam levels of {{Narm}} in the movie.

* The Vizards from ''{{Bleach}}'' talk like this when using their Hollow mask. Ichigo's own [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Inner Hollow]] talks like this regularly as well.

* Viktoria of ''ThiefTheDarkProject'' and ''Metal Age'', played by SHODAN's voice actress, also drifted in and out of VoiceOfTheLegion when revealing her true form.

*** Not to mention that the female voice that The Many uses sounds like Carolyn Semour...

* Soulcatcher from TheBlackCompany speaks in the voices of all those whose souls she's caught.
* Mab does this in the later Harry Dresden novels. She speaks through someone else when talking to Harry, and when Harry asks why she proceeds to show him. It hurts. A lot. Later when Harry asks her why this is so, when he'd spoken directly to her before without this effect, she reveals she's very angry with him.

* Used by the Raggedy Man in Stephen King's ''{{Cell}}''. The Raggedy Man himself is [[spoiler: the psuedopod of a massive HiveMind]], and can only speak through other characters for some unknown reason.

* Used a lot in Black, Gothic and Death Metal. The precursor off the top of my head is King Diamond.
** Behemoth's album Demigod was both lauded and criticized for extensive use of this technique. The backwards Sumerian at the beginning of the single, Slaves Shall Serve, stands out, but the vocals for the majority of the album are heavily layered for this effect.

* The Master from ''{{Fallout}}'' has three voices that he alternates between. The dominant one is of an old man, another of a small boy and the third of a sultry woman. Creepy.

* In Dennis L. McKiernan's ''Mithgar'' series, all necromancers must deal with this when trying to find out information. Nothing is hidden from the dead, but whenever a corpse is raised hundreds of spirits try to speak through it, and only a necromancer's intimidating power can force the voice he wants to speak just ever so much more loudly. [[NightmareFuel Considering]] [[BodyHorror what most]] [[CompleteMonster necromancers]] [[ColdBloodedTorture are like]], this is hardly a surprise.

** [[spoiler: Nyx Avatar]] from [[{{Persona3}} Persona 3]] has it too. It sounds pretty cool, which is a [[SequentialBoss very]] [[MarathonBoss good]] [[ThatOneBoss thing]].

* In GodOfWar 2, Lahkesis speaks like this at first, [[spoiler: because Atropos is inside her body.]]
* The titular Darkness from TheDarkness video game speaks in a form like this. Sometimes guttural, a dry whisper or demonic screeching, often changing in between words in a sentence. Extra super creepy points go to MikePatton for voicing the part and not using any post-processing to achieve the effects, just his own voice.
* In NeverwinterNights, [[spoiler:Aribeth de Tylmarande gets a VoiceOfTheLegion when she [[FaceHeelTurn goes over]] to the DarkSide.]]

* Phobos talks like this in the first season finale of {{WITCH}} after getting a power-up by stealing some of Elyon's magic. Later on, Cornelia briefly has this kind of voice when wielding the powers of all five Guardians, as does anyone who uses the Seal of Nerissa [[spoiler: and Cedric, after eating Phobos and absorbing both his powers ''and'' those of the Seal]].

* Buufo in AdventureTime. Justified, because he's actually a group of poliwogs, and it's hard to understand them if they talk out of sync.

* [[TransformersGenerationOne Devastator]] (and the other G1 combiners, at least on the Decepticon side, OrSoIHeard) has/have a very effective version of this, to represent a gestalt entity speaking. Some non-gestalt examples would be the giant Omega Supreme, both G1 and Animated, and Astrotrain. The Insecticons have one, but Shrapnel really is repeating the end of his sentences, ''sentences''. [[BigGood Primus]] [[TransformersCybertron gets this too]], and [[PlanetEater Unicron]] in TransformersTheMovie. Of course, what did you expect from {{Physical God}} TransformingMecha with planets as their altmodes? It's really something else with Unicron, because in addition he's such a LargeHam he should have a curly tail.
