It borders on BigDamnHeros as well, due to being a playable character later and a protagonist of the first game, but she's treated as a secondary villain and serious threat to the protagonists' plans at this point in the story, and rightfully so as [[spoiler: She manages to kill, or nearly kill, the fake Zenon in this encounter and]] she is the highest level opponent, at level 1000, the party will face (that isn't a bonus boss) aside from Laharal.

* Maybe he still thinks you're his best bet against the villain he's saving you from - this can be BigBad versus rival BigBad, or TheDragon using you against his master for [[HeelFaceTurn good]] or [[TheStarscream not-so-good]] reasons.

Not to be confused with SaveTheVillain or BigDamnVillains. Overlaps with EnemyMine, as it can be how such a situation ''begins,'' but not all instances of bad guys helping good guys falls into this category. This is basically BigDamnHeroes pulled by a villain; unfortunately, [[RealLifeWritesThePlot the name Big Damn Villains]] [[GrandfatherClause is already taken]].

* A bit of a frying-pan to fire situation appears in the halls of Khazad-dûm, in ''[[TheLordOfTheRings The Fellowship of the Ring]]'' when the heroes are swarmed by goblins as far as the eye can see. Enter ''Balrog''.

** Mal & company may have deliberately aggroed the reavers in advance to set this up, which would make it more like LetsYouAndHimFight.

** And it was absolutely [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome ''awesome'']].

* When Kyon is threatened by an enemy slider in [[{{FanFic/ptitle0028gzjm}} Kyon: Big Damn Hero]], Fujiwara and Suyou, the enemy time traveller, and the enemy EmotionlessGirl come in to save him at the last second. Fujiwara also steals a MorphWeapon, and they reprogram one so that Kyon can use it.

* In Full Metal Alchemist, [[spoiler:Kimblee of all people saves Ed from Pride by weakening him at a critical moment. He did so because Pride had violated his own belief system in order to win, which Kimblee viewed as disgraceful, and proof the the Homunculi deserve to lose the war. Keep in mind that Kimblee was already dead at this point with no hope of revival.]]

* Grimmjaw saving Ichigo from death in Bleach by healing him through Orihime, and fend off Ulquiorra from trying to kill Ichigo again, in order to get the pleasure of killing Ichigo himself.

* In ''ChroniclesOfRiddick'' Tombs shows up with a group of mercs to rescue Riddick from a very nasty squashing by the Necromongers. Of course, the whole reason for the rescue is the bounty on Riddick's [[BaldOfEvil big bald head]].

Imagine if you will, [[ColonelBadass Colonel]] [=McGoodguy=] and TheSquad are in [[{{Understatement}} a slight pinch]]. They're all out of ammo, the RedshirtArmy is knee deep in {{Mooks}} on the other side of town, their MilitaryMashupMachine is a smoldering pile of scrap, and even though TheSmartGuy managed to ReversePolarity and get a second shot out of the AppliedPhlebotinum that [[ItOnlyWorksOnce only works once]], it's not enough. General Shagnasty and his goons have them dead to rights, and they're staring down the barrels of [[OffscreenVillainDarkMatter way more]] {{BFG}}s [[OffscreenVillainDarkMatter than they should have left]] after our heroes blew up their factory two episodes ago. The villains gloat, because [[NothingCanStopUsNow nothing can stop them now]]!
