Ends up being Realism levels may vary. As the real life examples below show, this trick ''can'' in fact work in a sufficiently dense liquid medium such as water over at least short distances. In most of the more cartoonish depictions, though, the suction is created by drawing in ''air''...which would "realistically" require a rather unrealistic in most cases due to the sheer phenomenal lung capacity that would be required to exercise any significant force at range, let alone keep it the effect going for long, any length of time (things like vacuum cleaners and jet engines only work because they let alone produce the strength air pass straight ''through'' them instead of the suction that would be needed in order trying to draw in anything other then very nearby lightweight objects.

Wrote a more detailed trope description.

There isn't really much to tell about this one. A character who is possibly a {{Big Eater}} or an {{Extreme Omnivore}} will come up with unusual and creative ways to eat any kind of food. A popular way for him to do this is to have his mouth acquire the shape of a vacuum to suck up the food that is in front of him. Bonus points if the sound of a vacuum cleaner is used while said character is sucking up the food.

In other forms of media, it can not only be used for eating food, but can also be used as a super power. Similar to {{Breath Weapon}}, but in reverse.

This is primarily an [[{{Animation Tropes}} Animation Trope]] that is very often played for {{Rule Of Funny}}.
