Later he also has to deal with Anya, Shiori, and [[EvenTheGuysWantHim Fate]]. And these are just the ones who can be described as having a ''serious'' crush. For the non-serious: Konoka mentioned that Negi would be attractive when he got older in an early volume, Setsuna had a pretty [[ShipTease shipteasy]] moment that Chamo noted sounded 'like a love confession' during the TournamentArc (though it turned into a [[SchoolgirlLesbians KonoSetsu]] moment pretty quickly), and Misa proposed the [[WifeHusbandry Reverse Hikaru Genji plan]], noting that if they waited five years it would be much more normal for the girls to go out with him and later also got a crush on his older counterpart. Overall, that's ''11 or 12'' that have a definite interest in him, and 3 more that have expressed at least a small attraction.

* ''Fanfic/TheUnexpectedLoveLifeOfDuskShine'' tries to impart the harem manga genre on ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' by retelling the episodes with Dusk Shine (Twilight Sparkle's opposite-gender counterpart as established by fanon) as the main character while leaving the other characters gender-intact and ''mostly'' unchanged. So far Pinkie Pie wants to become OTP to get extra screentime (and suffering a breakdown after being friendzoned by mistake, resulting in Pinkamena taking over), Rarity wants him to be her prince, Applejack is convinced he's flirting with her, Fluttershy is strongly repressing her burning desire for him, and Rainbow Dash doesn't even seem capable of considering that he might not want to be her boytoy. Add to the mixture having Trixie as a live-in student trying to seduce him with a maid outfit and Luna referring to him as "the royal boyfriend", and he has the plate full. (Even Nightmare Moon had romantic designs for him.) Zecora even suggested that he try the [[MarryThemAll Tenchi Solution]], but he realized that would be even worse. * Part of the premise of ''Fanfic/TheFledglingYear'' is that Archenland’s crown prince must travel the country to find girls suitable as potential brides, eventually bringing them back to Anvard to be reviewed by the royal advisory council. Naturally you get the impression that while Spike wanted to be appreciated he didn't want women (and even a few men) throwing themselves at him.

Tsunade's son, Naruto has the misfortune of having a fan club in Konoha who want to continue the Senju clan and other girls who are [[InLoveWithYourCarnage have seen him fight and think he's a badass]] who always have him in a LoverTugOfWar much to his dismay. Naruto is oblivious to the harem of girls he might actually consider dating (Shion, Rurichiyo, Hinata).

* Deconstructed in ''Fanfic/TheLostKing''. King Garon is surrounded by many, many women who lust over him and desire to be with him...to the extent they [[DecadentCourt have begun blackmailing, sabotaging, bullying and outright murdering]] each other to remove the competition. He is understandably horrified by and tired of this, but no matter what he does can't get rid of them for [[SlaveToPR political reasons]]. Gradually the infighting extends to start claiming people he genuinely loves, such as his wife and children, and he's helpless to do anything but watch.
* John temporarily acquires one of these (and the harem includes men) in ''Fanfic/TheKeysStandAlone: The Soft World'', when he takes his cloak off at the Border Crossroads Inn. Once upon a time he would have wanted them (well, the women), but [[WingedHumanoid not after his transformation]], since he is [[BlessedWithSuck now no longer attracted to human women]].

* Parodied in ''Fanfic/HarryPotterAndTheSomethingSomething''. Due to Harry having four different marriage contracts[[note]]One that was signed by Sirius, one by his father, one by his mother, and a fourth by Dumbledore. The first three were drunk at the time. The fourth is doing it for the Greater Good or something[[/note]], he ends up with four wives; Alicia Spinnett of Gryffindor, Marietta Edgecomb of Ravenclaw, Su Li of Hufflepuff, and Blaise Zabini of Slytherin, who Dumbledore keeps insisting is a girl despite his protests and all evidence to the contrary. Robb hates it because A) he can only marry one of them, B) many of them don't care about ''him'' so much as being the next Lady of Winterfell, and C) [[NoGuyWantsToBeChased many are so aggressive in their pursuit of him that they're willing to violate his privacy and/or borderline terrorize him]]. She doesn't seem to really like the attention.

* In ''Webcomic/{{Rain}}'', it appears that every kid in the school with a compatible sexual orientation gets a crush on the titular character. The attention terrifies her especially since she's {{transgender}}.

* ''Manga/SeitokaiYakuindomo'' - Takatoshi is just attending the only-just-recently co-ed school because it's closest to his home, yet the girls are convinced he's there to get a harem. A [[MarryThemAll Tenchi Solution]] is ruled right out, due to the harem's tendency to spontaneously break out into superpowered free-for-alls both over and ''against'' him during bouts of jealousy, though the loli witch ''does'' repeatedly ask for a threesome [[LesYay with the vampire]]. Even harem aside, their unique... quirks... would make a relationship with any rather hazardous (though Ruby is a pretty safe option, if you WhipItGood like Tsukune). Don't forget when a guy comes in to recruit Tsukune for the monster mafia. He suggests he can just bring all the girls with him, [[MarryThemAll using polygamy to solve the problem]]. The OfficialCouple disagrees...but everyone else thinks its a great idea. Then the vampire half of the OfficialCouple [[TalkToTheFist disagrees again, by knocking everyone else unconcious]]. Notable in that Tsukune's already [[OfficialCouple clearly picked his favorite]], which the others notice.

** Some later issues deconstruct the trope by showing emotional effects on the girls who know they have [[FirstGirlWins already lost out to Moka]] but are still hopelessly in love with Tsukune, in more realistic, non-comedic, non-IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy ways rather than a typical use of the trope. Kurumu in particular has had a few heartbreaking scenes of unrequited love [[spoiler: and it's been all but stated that, [[HornyDevils being a succubus]], not being loved back can potentially have ''[[DeathByDespair fatal]]'' [[DeathByDespair consequences for her]].]] To make things more complicated, initially Tsukune is in love with ''one'' of the heroine's [[SplitPersonality split personalities]] -- the other one just kind of scares him. Even worse, the girl he loves [[spoiler:isn't even real, but an artificial persona based on the heroine's ''mother'' created by her rosary to protect the "real" girl]]. Tsukune later confesses to loving '''both''' Mokas, each in their own way, possibly due to the prolonged amount of time he spent with the "Inner" Moka in the second season. And "Outer" Moka approves of this (reluctantly in the anime), encouraging "Inner" Moka to accept her feelings for Tsukune. [[spoiler:In the end, the "Outer" Moka seemingly dies, but the epilogue reveals that she was actually [[SplitPersonalityMerge absorbed into "Inner" Moka]] who gradually started to show some of "Outer's" traits...which is less obvious than might be expected since it overlapped with "Inner's" own [[DefrostingIceQueen defrosting]].]]

* Sahashi Minato of ''Manga/{{Sekirei}}'' unknowingly/unwillingly becomes an Ashikabi and starts what can only be described as a BattleHarem after one act of kindness, and proceedes to add two more girls to his harem, largely unwillingly (they surprised him with a kiss). Then it is subverted, as he actively pursues his next member, at his Sekirei's encouragement, directly asks if the next one wants to join (she does) [[spoiler: and then finally chases down another.]]

** As of ''Darkness'', roughly 10 girls all have varying degrees of interest in him and there are even a few who could potentially become part of the harem. [[spoiler: In the end of the series, the unwanted part is played straight; Rito claims that Haruna is his number 1 and he rejects the idea of an harem (so does Haruna). However, because the finale is ambiguous, the girls are still vying for his affection and it is unknown if he will change his mind.]]

* Mostly subverted in ''Manga/TonaGura''. Only three main characters (Kazuki, Chihaya and Nina) have even directly stated an interest in Yuuji. One is resistant to openly stating it, one is mainly teasing her best friend, and one is underaged to the point Yuuji does not consider her even a remote possibility. Marie may have an arguable brother complex. Hatsune seems to think of him more as a brother, and possible future brother-in-law. A new character in the manga is [[spoiler: Haya, a bespectacled photography assistant to the Kagura siblings' absent father. She is a bag of nerves and backhanded comments that usually deflate Yuuji to the point even Kazuki defends him. At work, she is a ridiculously stern taskmaster.]] She is, despite being hard on him, deeply grateful to Yuuji for his assistance.

It's a good thing most of them are willing to double up.

About the only one who isn't completely against it is Alicia, who's on the fence due to Harry being hot. And maybe Su Li. * John, protagonist russian fanfic by ''Literature/{{Worm}}'' which is called, ''[[http://samlib.ru/s/sejtimbetow_samat_ajdosowich/worm_fic6.shtml/ Be a hero]]'', due to the fact that his abilities are focused on the almost zombie subordination of women with superpower, turning them at the same time in yander, who want to protect the protagonist from the world at almost any cost, and they are fighting hard for a place in his harem. The situation is aggravated by the fact that submission cannot be removed, because of which the hero suffers from such a harem in moral terms.

** Princess Daenerys Targaryen has one of these, though it's mostly by the power vested in her by [[spoiler: her dragons]]. Of course, being [[HeadTurningBeauty preternaturally gorgeous]] makes for a long conga line of pretenders who are certainly not charmers (she is usually proposed for sex, marriage, for ships/slaves/money, though she always declines). It includes Khal Drogo, her brother Viserys[[note]]*as it's a Targ custom to marry within one's immediate family[[/note]], Jorah Mormont, Pyat Pree[[note]]*who is more interested in the dragons[[/note]], Xaro Xhoan Daxos, Daario Naharis, Hizdahr Zo Loraq, [[spoiler:Quentyn Martell, Euron Greyjoy and a recently empowered and ultra-violent Victarion Greyjoy.]] It's worth mentioning that the last two haven't even laid their eyes in Daenerys before, which shows just how delectable she is.
** Prince Rhaeghar Targaryen, brother to Daenerys, was not short in lady pretenders before his marriage, [[spoiler: but his eloping with the Lady he shouldn't have eloped with led to a huge civil war, the near-destruction of his family and the end of the Targaryen kings.]]

** [[spoiler: Rand eventually confesses and ''simultaneously'' marries all three of his fangirls, who are luckily the best of friends/surrogate sisters to each other anyway.]]

* ''Literature/TheDresdenFiles'' tend to lampshade the fact that Harry has a ton of attractive (and often supernaturally hot) women angling to get into his pants from time to time. These range from [[TeacherStudentRomance his apprentice]] to [[DivineDate Faerie]] [[DidYouJustRomanceCthulhu Queens]] to his [[ShipTease Police]] [[FairCop officer]] best friend and attractive reporter girlfriend. Being a semi-quasi-ChasteHero with abandonment issues who doesn't want to get involved without emotion backing it up, much of this attention (apart from that from said reporter girlfriend) is unwanted. A lot of the rest is unwanted because the lady in question is trying to bed him in order to enslave/devour/corrupt him or those close to him. Then there's the demons, the succubi (plural), and his [[spoiler: mind controlled]] boss. And that's the women. Yeah... he has a complicated love life. [[spoiler:The reporter girlfriend gets turned into a vampire in book three, and Harry eventually is forced to kill her as a HumanSacrifice to turn a blood curse against her Court of vampires and destroy it in ''Literature/{{Changes}}''. He and the cop, Karin Murphy, have a RelationshipUpgrade two books later.]]

* Dorian Ursuul of Literature/TheNightAngelTrilogy, at first. [[spoiler: When he first becomes Godking, he only wants one woman, Jenine, but by the middle of the book, he's got a harem of round 80+ women, and he uses it regularly.]]

* In ''VisualNovel/Lucid9'', Yama's harem consists of Rui (childhood friend who he's insure of whether he has feelings for), Misaki (other childhood friend he's just happy to have around again), Elizabeth (snarky classmate he barely tries to be civil towards for most of the game, and only ends up in his harem because he once blackmailed her to help him), Akira (quirky friend of Rui, who Yama is friendly with, but shows little beyond that [[spoiler: - in fact, it is hinted that she had feelings for Yama but did not tell anyone]] ), and Airi (strange girl who rarely speaks and is shockingly good at a number of things, and seems to be tied to the events of the game in some unseen way). It can be assumed that this harem is very unwanted, especially since Yama would rather keep the status quo for just about everything.

* Mye of ''Webcomic/CharbyTheVampirate'' appears to have admirers wherever she goes, although she describes herself as not all that pretty. Eventually [[spoiler: this is revealed to be, unknown to her, the effect of a spell that draws men to her.]]

** He gets home, goes out to watch a rock gig where he flirts with [=DiDi=] and Yuki and admires Zii on stage, and then gets home to find Amber on his doorstep, asking for a bed for the night.[[spoiler: His bed.]]

* Yuri from ''VideoGame/InfiniteSpace''. Let's see, there's his [[spoiler:[[NotBloodSiblings unrelated]]]] [[BrotherSisterIncest sister]] [[TheChick Kira]], TheLancer [[TeacherStudentRomance Nia]], [[DistressedDamsel Kat]][[SpoiledBrat ida]], [[WrenchWench Franny]], [[Gratuitous Princess]] [[ActiveRoyalty Glorinda]], [[FoeYay Ci]][[WorthyOpponent co]], and [[HoYay Dietrich]]. On the minor characters' side, there's Melania, and possibly Soneto and Mariana have a crush on him as well.

Each of his conquests was entirely accidental:
