** Mio has them, despite being actually a rather shy character- although she also seems to be the one always cracking the whip about the need for practice. She also has shown a tsuntsun side. {{Tsundere}} type Dere? Probably done as a subversion to the Tsurime stereotype. At first, Mio appears to be the mature adult of the group, fitting her tsurime eyes. Yet as the series goes on, it becomes abundantly clear that her traditionally lady-like appearance hides a very timid, sensitive soul.
** When tareme Yui does an impression of Mio in the manga, she pushes her eyes to the tsurime position for one panel.
** Normally tareme [[SenseiChan Sawako]] develops tsurime when she enters Catherine mode.

* In ''VisualNovel/{{Kanon}}'', EmotionlessGirl Mai is drawn in this style, while the other characters are drawn with TaremeEyes.

* Most of the women who could be counted as adults in ''VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry'' seem to have gotten this treatment.
* Silica and her mother Garlude of ''Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa''. .
* Rei Hino/Sailor Mars and Haruka Tenou/Sailor Uranus from ''Anime/SailorMoon''. Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter is occasionally drawn with this type of eyes when her badassery is being emphasized.
* In ''Anime/YuGiOh'' one of the ways you can tell Yami Yugi has taken control is that Yugi's eyes go from Tareme to Tsurime. Ditto Bakura and his dark counterpart. Kaiba is the only modern teenaged character who ''always'' has this going on.
** Yugi has shifted over to this eye type too in the Dark Side of Dimensions anniversary movie.

* Shana of ''LightNovel/ShakuganNoShana'' has these eyes, being a {{Tsundere}}.
* Hideko Hasuki, Yurika's maid from ''Manga/ChocottoSister'', has them.
* Iroha in ''Manga/SumomomoMomomo''. Her tsurime distinguishes her as the most Badass of the series' [[ActionGirl Action Girls]].
* In ''VisualNovel/{{Utawarerumono}}'', male characters, like Dorihouri, are drawn this way. Females, even {{Cute Bruiser}}s like his sister Karura are drawn with TaremeEyes. The effect is an interesting combination of {{moe}} and badass.
* Hinata from ''Manga/{{Kanamemo}}'' has these for some reason.
* Yakumo, Eri and Itoko from ''Manga/SchoolRumble''. In Yakumo's case the meaning behind the trope is zigzagged: her childhood personality is much more in line with the typical personality type for this trope which may imply that she intentionally shifted her personality to one more in line tareme eyes.
* Tachibana from ''Manga/{{Mahoraba}}''

* ''Manga/SayonaraZetsubouSensei'':
** The title character has these kinda eyes, possibly to indicate his jaded, stern cynicism.
** [[DevilInPlainSight Mayo Mitama]] also has these, because she's a sadist with the FaceOfAThug... But she always gets away with what she does because no-one wants to be accused of judging her for her appearance.
** Miko Nedu, a girl who uses pyramid marketing to scam people, has Tsurime, too. In contrast, her partner-in-crime, Shouko Maruuchi, has TaremeEyes. This is possibly because Miko sells serious overpriced wares, making her appear greedy, while Shouko sells underpriced wares, making her appear more generous... However, it's still a scam, and they will, without fail, trick their costumers into buying Miko's wares, too.
* ''Manga/PandoraHearts'' has a lot of characters with these eyes, but Alice and Elliot are notable for being {{Tsundere}}s with these kinds of eyes..
* Yuuki from ''Manga/GameXRush'', particularly noticeable in his childhood.

* Narumi Ayumu in ''Manga/{{Spiral}}'', most noticeable in the manga. Interestingly, though he acts pretty cocky and arrogant, his weak will is an issue for him and part of his character development.

* Rika, Yura's perky and slutty younger sister, in ''Manga/FutariEcchi'', which is in contrast with Yura's (and their mother's) TaremeEyes.
* The tomboyish and focused Miki from ''Anime/FutureGPXCyberFormula'', in contrast to the more girly and energetic Asuka's TaremeEyes.
* In ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'', Tsurime eyes seem to be the standard eye shape. It's easier listing those with TaremeEyes than those with Tsurime eyes.
* In ''Anime/{{Noir}}'' Kirika's eye shape is normally standard, but her eyes go [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scarykirika_8311.JPG distinctly tsurime]] when she embraces her dark side.
* A majority of ''Manga/WanderingSon'' characters have TaremeEyes however Anna and Riku have Tsurime. Anna has a SugarAndIcePersonality. Anna and most often Riku sometimes pair this with HellishPupils for cartoony effect, which makes them look like cats.

When Ginji loses himself to his SuperPoweredEvilSide, his eyes become noticeably Tsurime.
* [[DarkMagicalGirl Kyouko]] from ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' is the one person who actually has some shape to her eyes in a series otherwise full of people with TaremeEyes. [[spoiler:Also, [[AdrenalineMakeover Homura,]] when [[TookALevelInBadass she starts powerleveling in badassery.]]]]

* Seraphim from ''Manga/KoreWaZombieDesuKa''.
* A simplified version appears in ''{{Franchise/Anpanman}}''. While most of the donburi characters have simple round eyes with pupils, Unadonman's eyes are almond shaped and point upwards. Even though nearly all of the donburi characters regard their donburi as number one, Unadonman takes it one step higher. He won't accept ''any'' food as being better than unadon, and looks down upon other characters. It's very common for episodes featuring him to [[BreakTheHaughty knock him down a peg]] for thinking this.
* In ''Manga/KiniroMosaic'', Karen specifically uses this term to mention that her eyes are slanted like this, in contrast with Shino's more gentle and approachable look.
* In ''Manga/MagicKnightRayearth'', HotBlooded Hikaru and RichBitch Umi both have sharply-drawn eyes, while excessively-polite Fuu has TaremeEyes.
* Hayami from ''Manga/AssassinationClassroom'' has these, combined with her serious personality and her marksmanship, which earns her the nickname "Tsundere Sniper".
* Rei of ''Manga/HighSchoolOfTheDead'', both manga and anime, shows tarime if she's being gentle or emotional and tsurime if she's in ActionGirl mode. Saiko? Tsurime 24/7.
* Ryuko and Satsuki from ''Anime/KillLaKill''. However, Satsuki's are rather subtle and can be mistaken for {{Tareme}} eyes in some shots.
* A lot of feline ''Franchise/{{Jewelpet}}s'' have this. Usually it's because CatsAreMean, but in some cases it's to give the character a cool/mysterious feeling (as in the case of Lapis and Granite). Diana is a special case; in ''Anime/{{Jewelpet 2009}}'' she was a major villain (AND a cat), and thus had this eye shape. Following seasons have made her either a sympathetic AntiVillain or a generically heroic character, thus, she has had TaremeEyes ever since the 2nd season.
* Eponine from ''LesMiserablesShojoCosette''. Used to emphasize the contrast between her and Cosette.
* Chihaya Kisaragi, Miki Hoshii and Takane Shijou of ''Anime/TheIdolmaster''.
* Rin Shibuya, Ranko Kanzaki, and Anastasia of ''Anime/TheIdolmasterCinderellaGirls''.
* The girls of ''Franchise/LoveLive'' are usually drawn with tareme eyes, but exceptions to this exist:
** In [[Anime/LoveLive the original anime]], Maki Nishikino, Tsubasa Kira and Erena Toudou have these. Maki has them for good reason: she's a {{Tsundere}}, has a SugarAndIcePersonality, is highly confident to the point of arrogance, and has a [[DeadpanSnarker deadpan, snarky wit]]. Tsubasa and Erena also have these to highlight their very competitive nature, as two of the three members of {{the rival}} school idol group A-RISE.
** In ''Anime/LoveLiveSunshine'', Riko Sakurauchi, Yoshiko Tsushima, Dia Kurosawa and Leah Kazuno have these. Riko's personality actually fits more the tareme route, but piss her off and [[https://love-live.fandom.com/wiki/File:LLSS_S2Ep2_039.png she'll show these]]. Yoshiko has these to complement her "little demon" look and {{chuunibyou}} personality. Leah has these to highlight her competitive nature, as a member of {{the rival}} school idol duo, Saint Snow. Dia, however, has the most noticeable of the four; as a perfectionist, classic tsundere with a HairTriggerTemper and the tendency to ChewTheScenery and MilkingTheGiantCow.
* Rin Tohsaka in ''Anime/FateStayNight''.
* Maika of ''Manga/BlendS'' has these, which is part of the reason why she has FaceOfAThug.
* Katarina in ''LightNovel/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom'' dislikes her upward turned eyes because she thinks they literally make her look like an AlphaBitch villain character from an otome game, but everyone else thinks they're quite pretty, if perhaps a little intense looking. She inherited them from her mother who seems to have been equally self conscious about them.
* Played with in ''Manga/KomiCantCommunicate'', where the titular Komi has tsurime eyes, which add to her aloof, unapproachable appearance. In reality, however, this appearance also comes from the fact that she has NoSocialSkills, and she's drawn in a simpler style with huge TaremeEyes when things are shown from Komi's perspective.
* In ''Manga/NininGaShinobuden'', the [[TokenMiniMoe little]] {{Tsundere}} Miyabi have tsurime . her naïve GenkiGirl big sister Shinobu have [[TaremEyes tareme]].
* [[ArrogantKungFuGuy Chang Wufei]] of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing'' is the only member of the main five whose eyes end in a distinct point. Depending on the angle, even the point is upturned, making him a [[ExaggeratedTrope somewhat extreme example]].

* ''Manga/SakuraNoIchiban'': The snarky and bookish, Misao, has these eyes which contrasts with with her friend, GenkiGirl Asami's TaremeEyes.
* ''Manga/AsteroidInLove'':
** Mikage Sakurai is the straightest example of this trope, as a girl with these eyes and being the {{Tsundere}} OnlySaneMan of the cast.
** Ao Manaka is an unusual {{zigzagged}} case. While she's always drawn with eyes like that, she's introduced as the [[ShyBlueHairedGirl most introverted member of the cast]], which means she isn't this trope...until she GrewASpine in the second volume, where she starts to bear the headstrongedness--and acting on it--that is the personality hallmark of this feature.
* ''LightNovel/{{Oresuki}}'': [[ManipulativeBastard Joro]] switches between this and TaremeEyes, depending on whether he's being honest or in "nice guy" mode. Very apparent in episode 3 when Pansy asks him to switch to his "[[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Hyde]]" persona.
* Sawako from ''Manga/KimiNiTodoke'' has these, which doesn't help people's perception of her appearance.

* Captain Varrot of VideoGame/ValkyriaChronicles is animated like this and quite a few of the recruits, too.
* Laharl's eyes from ''VideoGame/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness'' are drawn like this, and he is indeed a {{Tsundere}}.
** As are [[VideoGame/Disgaea3AbsenceOfJustice Mao]]'s, [[VideoGame/Disgaea4APromiseUnforgotten Valvatorez]]'s, and [[VideoGame/Disgaea2CursedMemories Rozalin]]'s. The fact that most of them are royal {{Tsundere}}s is probably not inconsequential.

* The highly aggressive {{tsundere}} Lily is the most prominent character with these kinds of eyes in ''VideoGame/DuelSaviorDestiny''.

* In ''VideoGame/ApeEscape'', monkeys with red pants (the aggressive, violent ones) have these eyes.
* Tawna applies as a Western-type case in the modern Crash games, but this is especially obvious in ''VideoGame/CrashTeamRacingNitroFueled''; she has squintier, attractive eyes as the cool, level-headed, straight-laced and most serious member of the Nitro Squad, which tends to have rounder eyes (especially in their former designs, which is referenced by the anime-styled art on Slide Coliseum's banners) and quirky personalities.
** [[VideoGame/CrashTagTeamRacing Pasadena O'Possum]] is an even stronger case of having such eyes, especially since she's a tough-as-nails, boisterous and exuberant racer. She does act softer when being dorky or around Crash though.

* ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses'': Lysithea and Felix have these, showcasing their more serious personalities, especially next to Hilda and Sylvain respectively, who have TaremeEyes.
