* Eyes that are almond shaped are referred to as "Phoenix Eyes" in China. Essentially, the "highest" part of the eye is the outer corner and the "lowest" part is the tear duct.
* Many humans whose eyes aren't especially [[TaremeEyes tareme]] have tear ducts that are slightly lower than their eye's outer corners.
* Cats. Probably one of the biggest inspirations for this trope and the personality traits that come with it. Ironically, most cats in anime have TaremeEyes.
** In RealLife, many cats, housecat or otherwise, have eyes that are actually between [[TaremeEyes tareme]] and [[TsurimeEyes tsurime]].
* Wolves have TsurimeEyes, unlike most domestic dogs.
