** The Labrynth archetype is built around setting and resolving Normal Traps, with their monster lineup supporting this by either finding more Traps to set or even letting you activate them in the same turn, and their best effects triggering if your Normal Traps cause monsters to leave the field. The archetype's theming is about their leading lady, Lovely Labrynth, managing a mansion full of traps to challenge visitors (especially her archnemesis Ms. Knight.)

People that fall for the traps are usually TooDumbToLive and/or a {{Determinator}} and don't know when to quit during their pursuit of whatever they are trying to achieve. It is not unusual for the Trap Master role to be given to TheEngineer or TheSmartGuy of a group. A character that is CrazyPrepared will inevitably expose that they have at least dipped their toes into this trope's pool at some point or another.

* Vauban of ''VideoGame/{{Warframe}}'' is a master trapper after his rework. His playstyle is highly defensive, allowing him to control whole swaths of the map--throw down a few small grenade-like spheres, and some kind of horrible proximity event happens to enemies. Examples include electroshock drones (which can roll after enemies), tether trap mines to hold down enemies, nail grenades that cover a twenty-meter radius in high-velocity metal spikes, accelerator pads to fling enemies into walls and off cliffs, and a special gravity device that either lifts enemies off their feet and keeps them from advancing or becomes a tiny black hole to suck enemies into its event horizon. Vauban players must be creative to string together the best trap configurations to eliminate enemies... or the best trap configurations to humiliate enemies, [[TheJoysOfTorturingMooks for the more sadistic]].

This, combined with being underestimated by everyone (even her own district partner) after pretending to be weak, lets her win her Games.
