Especially relevant in the case of Malon, in which there was no explicit statement of romantic intention, just pure chemistry (and one cute nickname), "Fairy boy". [[HaveAGayOldTime Ouch.]]

Sometimes this is referenced as happening in the past, when (usually the woman) says she she started chasing the man back when they were six (or eight or whatever), and "it took me [X] years to catch him- but it was worth it." * ''AmeliaRules'', despite being great in most other respects, abuses this trope and seems to have built later parts around it. Although occasionally averted or Lampshaded, this trope is mostly played straight; the eponymous character (who is nine years old) has two love interests (also nine).

* A rare same-sex version; many see something between Damian/Robin V and Colin/Abuse in the Batman comics.

* Lian Harper and Ceridian (Tempest's little boy) in ''{{DCNation}}''.

* The ''KaBlam'' story ''TroperWorks/GoodbyeJune''. The fact that Henry and June (also listed under Western Animation) like each other was mostly hinted at on the show, but this story has them separated and heartbroken because they miss each other so much. [[spoiler: It ends with them reuniting, at which point they declare their love for each other (Henry's only recently started crushing on her, but June's crushed on him since preschool!) and kiss. They even propose marriage to each other in advance, although Henry does mention that [[LampshadeHanging it's a ways off and they're way too young to be having this conversation]]. Though if the characters aged in real time, they would probably be in their early teens around the time this story is set.]]

* It's fairly common in HarryPotter fanfics for an original character to start crushing on, if not outright dating one of the main characters (usually Harry or Draco), despite the fact that they've just started school and are therefore only eleven. Admittedly, this is not limited to relationships. In fics that fall into this trap, the eleven year old children tend to act more like eighteen.

It seemed that once you surpassed the eleven years old mark you could engage in your first LoveTriangle.

The most notorious ones are [[DoggedNiceGuy Cirilo]]'s onesided crish on [[{{Tsundere}} Maria Joaquina]] as well as [[NiceGuy David]] and [[{{Meganekko}} Valeria]] (and the brief love triangle with [[NewTransferStudent Margarita]].

* ''SonicTheHedgehog'': Tails is sometimes paired with Cream, Amy or Marine.

* ''PacMan'' Junior fell for a ghost named Yum-Yum in one game. It's also a case of StarcrossedLovers, since the two species hate each other (and ghosts apparently eat Pac-people).

Trixie and Tootie are the two most likely to get Timmy, and they've both had their moments with him. According to WordOfGod, both are likely candidates.
** At the end of one of the movies, there is a TimeSkip that showed Timmy's kids. They were meant to have features of [[strike:both Trixie and Tootie in order to keep fans guessing]] definitely Tootie.
*** If we take the LiveAction TimeSkip TV movie "Grow Up Timmy Turner" as canon, then [[spoiler: they're most likely Tootie's kids.]]

* ''[[{{ptitle17u4r74z}} Histeria!]]'' has Loud×Charity, Froggo×Aka, Pule×Susanna, Lucky Bob×Cho-Cho, and Toast×Pepper. Only the last two were actually revealed to be {{Official Couple}}s on the show, though. (And anyway, Toast and Pepper are already teenagers, and therefore would already have the necessary hormones that would result in attraction to each other.)

Slider (13) tends to be paired up with Jackie (11) in fanfiction.

* ''{{Dollhouse}}'' As the blank-state Dolls are essentially like children, Victor/Sierra could be considered a Toy Ship.
** In fact, Topher is once explaining (to Boyd, I believe) that the Actives in their blank state are even less than children, because they don't display the curiosity, and therefore development, of actual children.

* ''{{Coraline}}'' In the movie version, the eponymous character has an adorable friendship with her neighbor (and Other neighbor) Wybie; fandom's given them a PortmanteauCoupleName.

* Inverted in ''BlackLagoon'' with [[CreepyTwins Hansel and Gretel]]. While they are two young kids in a pretty loving relationship it is played purely for squick value, and it's possibly the most disturbing thing this troper has ever seen in anime.
** YMMV: This Troper thinks that, the more explicit aspects of their relationship aside, the two have a very heartwarming relationship and likely would've ended up much worse if they didn't have each other. It is highly suggested that they turned to each other for love because noone else ever gave them the feeling they were loved.

* In BlinkyBill, there's Blinky X Nutsy but this troper personally prefers Nutsy X Shifty Dingo (ADORABLE hurt/comfort ToyShip) and Blinky X Marcia.

*** Although they apparently met again, without any of them being aware of it, due to the fact that that there are a lot of hints in canon that [[spoiler: HRE is actually Germany]].

** Another such from those books would be Bran and Meera. She's younger than Gendry, and he's ''nine''.

* ''[[{{ptitle5qka8jn6}} Love Is...]]'' is ostensibly cutesy expressions of love illustrated by cherubim. However, it also fits [[TheSimpsons Homer Simpson's]] description: "It's about two naked eight-year-olds who are married."

* ''{{Cyberchase}}'' Matt/Inez (11 and 9, respectively) is very, ''very'' popular in fanfiction and is occasionally played with lightly in the series (but more in the form of BelligerentSexualTension). Slider (13) tends to be paired up with Jackie (11) in fanfiction.

** There's also a number of people who pair Cream and Charmy Bee, despite that they don't really interact often.

* The ''Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing'' series, the main character's little brother Fudge (never [[BerserkButton call him Farley]]) and a girl named Mitzi, in the book Fudge-A-Mania. They're about five. And toothachingly cute whenever on the same page.

* Al and May in ''FullmetalAlchemist''. May is understandable since she looks to be about eight and girls usually have crushes by that age, but the somewhat uncomfortable part is that Al seems to like her back. He's fourteen. Of course, he's never technically gone through puberty and all its associated hormones due to not having had his body since he was a child, so the relative mental ages may still count.

* ''AreYouThereGodItsMeMargaret'' is loaded with this, seeing as it's a book about puberty.
