* In ''Film/HowardTheDuck'', Howard is assigned a job at a local bathhouse where its manager has the main character unplug a clogged nozzle in one of the baths, a task that nearly drowns Howard had he not pulled out the towel that was clogging it in time. He gets even with his boss by knocking him into a mud bath that he examines for the mess that was made in it, telling him his boss that he quits.

While giving a tour of his commune to a reporter from the New York Times, Gandhi talks about sharing the labor of all duties equally with all members of the commune, to impart the message that one person's labor is just as important as another's. This includes cleaning the latrines, and Gandhi jokes that in fact, while you are doing it, cleaning a toilet seems far more important than his legal work.

* ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDad'': Taken UpToEleven in the episode "[[Recap/AmericanDadS8E13DrKlaustus Dr. Klaustus]]", where Roger is falsely deployed to Iraq under the alias of [[Music/SgtPeppersLonelyHeartsClubBand Sgt. Pepper]] to clean toilets, all with the framing of an actual war movie. Especially emphasized when he's inside a toilet hole in an outhouse before a man comes in.

* ''Film/LettersFromIwoJima'' has private Saigo chosen by his commander to dump out the "poop pail" that his squad has been using while hunkered in their bunkers on the island. The commander urges Saigo not to lose the pail, "or you will carry out our poop with your hands." As Saigo emerges from the bunker, he sees the enormous American fleet poised to invade and drops the pail in astonishment.
