Note that all these accusations are based on 1 minute or so trailers.

Fortunately, it's comparatively easy for anything falling under this trope to be RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap - all it has to do is be better than people expected (and given how low the expectations are in many cases...).

*** Also, ''{{Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds}}'' was accused of being even more of a merchandise driven series than its [[YuGiOh two]] [[YuGiOhGX predecessors]], and ridiculous for having '''[[YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries card games on motorcycles]]''', among other complains. After released, the reception wasn't really ''that'' negative.

** Make that George Lazenby, Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, ''and'' Dainel Craig as JamesBond. Each time they first appeared they tried to introduce them in a clever way, but it was pretty much spoiled if you didn't live under a rock between each film.

** The trailer for ''{{The Princess and the Frog}}'' was no exception, as it highlights all of the fart jokes.
** A Disney film about Rapunzel has recently had its name changed to ''Tangled'', with its beautiful, living-oil painting animation replaced with generic CGI. To make matters worse, a trailer was released that played the above comments painfully straight. The fandom did not rejoice.
* Disney's upcoming ''{{The Princess and the Frog}}'' was subject to tons of debate ''even before'' trailers arrived, primarily because it is the first DisneyAnimatedCanon film with a black protagonist. The ''New York Times'' examines the dilemma [[http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/31/fashion/31disney.html?_r=1&hp=&pagewanted=all here]].

* Disney's ''Rapunzel'' is already receiving backlash after it was announced that the title was changed to ''Tangled'', which people are saying doesn't fit Disney and is more like a title Dreamworks would use. The animation and jokes also look pretty Dreamworks-esque from the leaked preview.
* ''TheLoveGuru''. It was decided that Mike Myers (the actor) would promote this film in character during the season 7 finale of AmericanIdol. It was a long segment, it probably gave away too much about the character, it was dealing with subject matter some AI viewers would be ''extremely'' uncomfortable with, and it was not funny enough. Oh, and it was a long segment on a season finale that ran so long that many people using [=DVRs=] had the last name of the winner cut off -- which was bad because the finalists had the same first name. It is likely that this segment helped sink TheLoveGuru at the box office.
* ''Devil'' seems to be your typical psychological horror film. Why were people laughing? The words [[http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/2010/07/20/2010-07-20_m_night_shyamalans_devil_trailer_gets_big_laughs_at_inception_screenings.html "From the Mind of M. Night Shyamalan"]]. He isn't [[FallenCreator directing it]], but seeing [[LadyInTheWater his]] [[TheHappening track]] [[Film/TheLastAirbender record]].

* The announcement of MichaelJackson-themed CirqueDuSoleil shows has not been warmly received by much of Cirque's vocal fanbase; for starters, they would represent their third JukeboxMusical variant in five years after ''TheBeatles' LOVE'' and ''Viva [[Main/ElvisPresley Elvis]]''. Since the fanbase hasn't been too happy with the majority of new Cirque shows from ''Wintuk'' onwards, this just adds more fuel to the RuinedFOREVER claims that the company no longer cares about art, but money. And then there are the legitimate issues of whether this is TooSoon after Jackson's death for both Cirque and his estate and how big an audience for a show about a performer with ''a lot'' of XPacHeat can be. Note, however, that to ''Jackson'' fans the reaction to this announcement was more AndTheFandomRejoiced.

* ''{{X-Com}}'' is coming back! As an FirstPersonShooter (a ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-COM:_Alliance second]]'' attempt at that. Let's not even mention how {{Genre Shift}}s in the series [[{{Discontinuity}} have never ended well]]). [[CompletelyMissingThePoint In which you take control of a FBI agent instead of the eponymous anti-alien unit itself]]. Multiplatform. By [[{{Bioshock}} 2k Marin]]. Ladies and gentlemen, this may be the {{Fallout}} 3 of this decade.
