* In ''Saga Frontier'' during Red's quest he attempts to investigate a fighting tournament dressed in his superhero outfit. When asked his name at the sign-up counter he stammers part of his real name a few times, and winds up entered in as "Rerere".

* In ''PhoenixWrightAceAttorney: Trials and Tribulations'', [[spoiler:Misty Fey]] is introduced as "Elise ''Deauxnim''", french for "two names". In her defense, it's at least far different from her real name.

* ''DoctorWho'': The Doctor's pseudonym "John Smith" is a LineOfSightName, but that he's ''Doctor'' John Smith fits the trope. Also, the Master's various "disguised" names, which are almost always anagrams, synonyms or translations of the name Master. In the new series, Mister Saxon was even an (unintended) anagram of Master No. Six - which he was.
** No, he was at least the seventh onscreen. Roger Delgado, Peter Pratt, Geoffrey Beevers, Anthony Ainley, Eric Roberts, Derek Jacobi, John Simm. To be really exhaustive, Gordon Tipple played "The Old Master" in the opening scenes of the 1996 movie, and William Hughes played the Master as a child in the Simm episodes.

* In ''BuffyTheVampireSlayer'', when Buffy is investigating her mother's new boyfriend, one of his co-workers ask who she is. She says "Bu...Linda. Belinda"

* A variation occurs in the ''The Nutty Professor'' (both the 1963 and 1996 versions), wherein another character refers to the titular character as "buddy" while he is under the influence of his transformation drug, prompting him to adopt "Buddy Love" as the name of his alternate personality.
* When asked for her name [[SweetPollyOliver while posing as a man]], ''{{Mulan}}'' first tries Ah Chu (to which Mushu says "gesundheit!"), then Mushu (after mishearing her talking to Mushu), then finally settles to Ping.

* In [[LeapYear Leap Year]], when Anna and Declan have to pretend to be married and are asked about their surname, they both blurt out their own surnames (Brady and O'Callaghan, respectively), before finally settling on O'Bradycallaghan.

* In MaximumRide, when Fang is taken to the hospital Max begins to say his name but quickly ends with "Nick". Iggy later calls Fang "Fnick".

* Several episodes of {{Scrubs}} have the Janitor pretending to be a doctor. Every time he dons the name "Dr. Ján Ĩtor." This is but one of almost countless [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome CrowningMomentsOfAwesome]] Neil Flynn dished out over the series long run.

* Inverted in FamilyGuy. Peter is trying to come up with a LineOfSightName, and through sheer coincidence of seeing a green vegetable, a person crying and a mythical flying chimera, comes up with the alias "Peter Griffin".

* Usui in ''{{Kaichou Wa Maid-sama}}'' likes to trick ThoseTwoGuys with a foreign accent and the name "Usui Janai" - literally "Not Usui." [[HilarityEnsues It works.]]
