General clarification on work content

* Gillian Taylor from ''Film/StarTrekIVTheVoyageHome'' chooses to follow Captain Kirk and his crew into the future where they're taking two whales [[ItMakesSenseInContext to stop an alien probe threatening the Earth]]. Downplayed because she's only being taken into the future by a human crew (with a half-alien man among these), but the aspect of her entering an alien ship and abandoning her mundane life still checks the main marks of this trope.

* ''Dramatic Mission'', a story in ''Literature/TheShipWho Sang'', involves human actors [[MyselfMyAvatar transferring themselves into "envelopes"]] aka [[RemoteBody local available bodies]] on a world with a methane-ammonia atmosphere, in order to trade [[KlingonsLoveShakespeare performances]] for alien technology. TheMindIsAPlaythingOfTheBody and even when back in their human forms the actors find it hard not to think in alien terms, and they do enjoy the experience. When it's time to wrap up, three actors decide to stay, two because they're older and enjoy the sense of youth and power, one out of love. A fourth tried to sabotage their equipment, and another of the troupe decided to trap her in her envelope before the ship left, stranding her with the others.

* ''Film/CloseEncountersOfTheThirdKind'': At the climax, Roy Neary enters the alien ship, disappears into the light and the ship departs Earth...which is kind of awkward for his wife and kids. [[note]]Looking back, WordOfGod agrees it's a rough move. Spielberg: "I would never have made Close Encounters the way I made it in '77 because I have a family that I would never leave," he said in a 1997 making-of documentary. "That was just the privilege of youth." However, the film does establish that Ronnie deserted him and took the kids, refusing to talk to him or work things out, so it's not like he had anything to stick around for.[[/note]]
