* ''Film/AGuyThing'' starts with a bachelor party for Paul. Things get a little too wild for him, so he gives his "groom" hat to the best man and ends up chatting up an attractive dancer. The next morning, he wakes up and is shocked to find her in his bed. His fiancée Karen is on her way, so he kicks the girl out without even learning her name. She can't find her underwear. Paul later finds it and hides it in the toilet tank... only for Karen to find it and confront him. He makes up a terrible-sounding lie about buying the underwear for her in a bin at a local mart. She points out the underwear has clearly been used and calls the mart to check out the story. Luckily for Paul, the clerk immediately figures out what's going on (quoting the movie title to a customer) and backs up Paul's story, apologizing to Karen for the dirty underwear and offering to replace it at no charge. Things get complicated when he learns that the dancer is Karen's cousin Becky and that they didn't actually have sex (he passed out before his pants came off). Then Becky's obsessive cop ex-boyfriend finds out and starts harassing Paul (Paul ends up helping the [[InternalAffairs IA]] get him). Eventually, Paul realizes that Karen isn't really for him (luckily, his brother has been in love with her for years and jumps at the chance) and Becky's more his type.

Ted attempts to arrange a more sedate affair, seeing a boxing match and having a steak dinner, for Marshall's bachelor party and even lies to Barney about their actual destination to keep him from meddling. Despite his efforts Barney is still able to hijack the weekend and arranges for a stripper to meet them at the hotel. The stripper breaks her ankle just after starting her act but, after a trip to the hospital, she and Barney insist on finishing. We don't see the performance but by the time she's done nobody wants their steak dinner anymore. Recently, it's been increasingly popular in comedy to show the guys trying to have a wild stag party, only to have it fall apart in a disappointing fashion. The stripper is over the hill, or a guy. The [[StripperCopConfusion stripper dressed up as a police officer is an actual policewoman]]. The car breaks down. Etc. Often, while the guys expect that the women are having something akin to a bridal shower or a Tupperware party, or that his fiancee is at home watching TV in her sweatpants by herself, they're having a bachelorette party as wild as what the men were hoping for.
