This is usually done to show how blasé and {{Badass}} a character is; they're so bored and nonchalant that they aren't even bothering with conventional posture and look insanely cool in the process. This has the down side of making them less able to react if someone attacks, but that's not a problem if they are {{Badass}} enough. Moreso, if their levels of {{Badass}} are good, they don't even have to get up during the FinalBattle. Of course, this could very well be a calculated effort to look insanely cool in the first place, but are you going to say that to the MagnificentBastard's face?

** Cooler has a similar chair. He also sits on a thrown of a planet he just devasted. Then he crushes it with his tail.
** Maoh Piccolo sits on a thrown which is made of the same bone-like looking material of Namekian houses and spaceships.

* During the UsefulNotes/AmericanCivilWar, depictions of UsefulNotes/AbrahamLincoln by artists from the South tended to show him slouching in his chair.

* On ''Series/{{Heroes}}'', Sylar takes the opportunity to slouch around on couches and chairs as he taunts and torments Parkman's sanity at home and at work.

** In ''Film/StarTrekInsurrection'', BigBad Ru'afo practices his SlouchOfVillainy... from the depths of a plush red sofa. [[{{Narm}} It doesn't really work]].

* ''Series/StarTrekEnterprise'': Captain Archer of the MirrorUniverse does this in the command chair of the ''Defiant'' as he asks for Starfleet's surrender. As does Mirror!T'Pol when we first see her -- [[BareYourMidriff thanks to her outfit]], she looks a good deal hotter doing so.

* In an early ''Series/{{Stargate SG-1}}'' episode, "Emancipation", Turghan does this when [[spoiler: Abu comes to sell Carter]]

* Gendo Ikari's slouch of villainy in his [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic symbolic]] office in Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion. It's noted that the office is set up specifically to intimidate visitors.

** His [[BeastWars Predacon successor]] also gets his slouch on, but has been known to occasionally take it to the next level by giving orders while relaxing in a hot tub.

* The lawyer for the prosecution in the movie of ''ToKillAMockingbird'' slouches with one leg over the arm of his chair.

* [[Franchise/TheChroniclesOfRiddick Riddick]] slouches on the slain Lord Marshal's throne due to sheer exhaustion. It becomes a SlouchOfVillainy when he notices the other Necromongers ''bowing'' down to him since [[YouKillItYouBoughtIt "You keep what you kill."]]
