* This was presented as a significant social problem in the world of ''{{Eve no Jikan}}''. Amusingly enough, [[spoiler:Koji and Rina end up in a relationship, each believing the other is human.]]

** ** In the manga, at least. This plot point does seem to be virtually absent from the anime: [[spoiler:Dragonfly did touch Chi there when he activated her after he abducted her, and when Chii (or was it Freya?) awoke, she didn't lose her memory at all (except of this particular specific event itself), she just went homicidally berzerk, stating that only her Special Someone could touch her, but since Dragonfly wasn't that person, he never should have even tried. She then proceeded to beat him with a suprise-set of hidden tentacles appendages that suddenly appeared from her back, ''seriously'', and she would most likely have killed him if Hideki hadn't arrived in time]].

* Played with in ''TheAlchemyOfStone'': The [[ClockPunk clockwork]] RobotGirl protagonist, Mattie, is ''not'' physically capable of having sex, but certain aspects of her mechanism that have no direct connection to sex eventually take on symbolically sexual meanings for her. Eventually some of this peculiar sexuality is made quite explicit in her interactions with other characters.

added Wild Cards' Mod Man

to:

* George Martin's ''Wild Cards'' feature Modular Man, a RidiculouslyHumanRobot built by a hyperinventive Ace scientist, and considered an actual Ace by others. Modular Man is shaped like a male supermodel, fully functional in regards of this trope, and pretty popular with the ladies. His creator then uses the memory cache [[PowerPerversionPotential for porn]], to Mod' Man's grief.

Oh dear lord the only-vaguely-related wall of text...

* Played with at various times in the ''{{Transformers}}'' franchise; the [[TransformersGenerationOne G1]] continuity had a few instances of humans falling for members of the Autobots, but with little reciprocation. Once {{Fembot}}s were introduced, more overt showings of affection from the Robots In Disguise developed, to the point where ''BeastWars'' [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar got a]] ''[[GettingCrapPastTheRadar lot]]'' [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar of crap past the radar]], in terms of InnocentInnuendo (and not so innocent...robot topless bars, anyone?). ''TransformersRobotsInDisguise'' made a RunningGag of one of the Autobots becoming obsessed with an [[ButtMonkey unfortunate human woman's]] red sports car. The Unicron Trilogy had various ''male'' members of the Decepticons make googly eyes toward ''Megatron''. Film/Transformers Bayverse [[FridgeLogic inexplicably had both factions use sexual humor]]. And ''TransformersAnimated'' had [[{{Squick}} Optimus become traumatized after being told how humans procreate]]. Interestingly, whenever Transformer procreation is mentioned, it is described as "build a chassis from whatever's convenient, get the [[OurSoulsAreDifferent Spark]] from a MacGuffin". Some series (the movies, TransformersAnimated) have the plot driven by the loss of the MacGuffin, with it stated outright that their species is effectively unable to reproduce without it, and G1 has something similar as the driving plot of a few episodes and a comics storyline or two. The implication, of course, is that either the writers aren't thinking things through, RuleOfFunny is overriding logic in many cases, or we are misunderstanding things based on our sexual human perspective.
** Do I have to say ''KissPlayers''? Gah, now I'm nauseous.
