* In ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'', Kenny's ability to constantly die was revealed to be this via a CerebusRetcon: Due to his parents attending cult meetings while he was in the womb, he was TouchedByVorlons and thus anytime he dies his mother simply births out another Kenny that quickly ages to 10 years old overnight. Since Kenny is the only one able to consistently remember his deaths while his friends never remember, it's left him deeply bitter.

* In the neutral path of ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}'', you yourself are subject to this by [[spoiler:Photoshop Flowey]], as his determination outweighs yours, meaning [[RPGMechanicsVerse he now controls your save file]]. To add insult to injury, in most versions he [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou closes the game each time he kills you]], and skips the title screen when you open the game back up so he can kill you again, not even giving you the chance to erase your data and start over. The only way to escape is to survive long enough for [[spoiler:the human souls he's absorbed to rebel against him]]. And while it is possible to do this without dying at all, he closes the game once before you even fight him and he'll kill you in rapid succession in the cutscene following his defeat, so either way, you get to see the loop in action.

It is, however, defied in the pacifist route's final battle, where the TrueFinalBoss ''says'' he'll do this to you, but your determination is now so great that [[ZeroEffortBoss he simply can't kill you to begin with]].

To add insult to injury, in most versions he [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou closes the game each time he kills you]], and automatically reloads the save file when you open the game back up so he can kill you again. The only way to escape is to survive long enough for [[spoiler:the human souls he's absorbed to rebel against him]]. And while it is possible to do this without dying at all, he'll still kill you in rapid succession after you defeat him, so the effect is apparent either way.
