This also held true for her first work after she left Kyoto Animation, Anime/TheHeikeStory.

* Creator/DonBluth was always followed by Gary Goldman and John Pomeroy, and the three had left Disney at the same time to start Bluth's independent animation studio. Among the actors normally cast, Dom De Luise was a regular (often cast as the second banana and/or comic relief), with Will Ryan not to far behind. CharlesNelsonReilly was also frequently cast as a henchman or lackey to the main antagonist. Judith Barsi also intended on continuing her career as a voice actress until her untimely death; in fact, had she not been murdered, she could have continued to voice Ducky in the ensuing ''WesternAnimation/TheLandBeforeTime'' sequels, as it was her favorite role.

* Many animation studios often had their own stock company of voice actors. Creator/HannaBarbera's productions, for example, usually had Creator/DawsButler, Don Messick, John Stephenson, Creator/JanetWaldo, and Creator/FrankWelker among its regulars.
* 90% of Creator/{{Cinar}} and Creator/CineGroupe's productions usually had Creator/SonjaBall, Creator/RickJones, Creator/TerrenceScammell, Creator/HollyGauthierFrankel, etc. in their cast.
* Creator/{{Filmation}} productions often noticably featured characters voiced by Lou Schiemer, one of the company's co-founders, although he was usually either uncredited, or went by the name "Erik Gunden".[[note]]''WesternAnimation/{{Fat Albert|AndTheCosbyKids}}'' fans will know him as the voice of Dumb Donald; ''WesternAnimation/HeManAndTheMastersOfTheUniverse1983'' fans will know him as King Randor, Orko, and others.[[/note]] Other regulars included Lou's daughter Erika Schiemer, Jane Webb, John Erwin, Melendy Britt, and the late Linda Gary and George [=DiCenzo=][[note]]Perhaps better known as Sam Baines in ''Film/BackToTheFuture''[[/note]].
** Also, most of the time their composers were Ray Ellis and his son Marc, who also performed in the same capacity when Australian game show producer Reg Grundy set up shop in America in the early 80s (composing the music for ''Series/SaleOfTheCentury'', ''Series/{{Scrabble}}'', ''Series/TimeMachine'', ''Series/HotStreak'' and ''Series/{{Scattergories}}'', plus the unsold pilots ''Keynotes'' and ''[[Series/GoingForGold Run for the Money]]''; they also did the music for the non-Grundy ''Series/CatchPhrase'').
* During much of the 1980s, Creator/DiCEntertainment tended to have Bettina (the title character in all of their WesternAnimation/RainbowBrite productions), Scott Menville, Cree Summer, Danny Mann, Danny Wells, Jeannie Elias, character actress Marilyn Lightstone, and various other Canadian talents who also recorded voices for Nelvana. [=DiC=] also had Shuki Levy compose the soundtrack to what may have been 98 percent of their output during TheEighties.
* [[WesternAnimation/{{Recess}} Every]] [[WesternAnimation/LloydInSpace show]] [[WesternAnimation/PoundPuppies2010 created]] by Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere will usually feature most of or all of the actors of one of their previous shows. The most common ones being Creator/KathSoucie, Pamela Adlon, April Winchell, Eddie Deezen, Justin Shenkarow, E.G. Daily, Creator/AshleyJohnson, Anndi [=McAffee=], Creator/TressMacNeille, and many more.
* Creator/CraigMcCracken has created 4 animated shows. In his shows, he tends to use some of the same voice actors, often casting them in roles different from the other shows of his they've appeared on. These actors include Creator/TomKenny, Creator/TaraStrong, Creator/TomKane, and Keith Ferguson. Creator/GreyDeLisle and Creator/PhilLaMarr, while regulars on ''WesternAnimation/FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends'', had also done voices at some point in ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls1998''.
* Creator/GenndyTartakovsky (who co-voice directed the first few seasons of the 1998 ''The Powerpuff Girls'' series with [=McCracken=], as he usually voice directs his shows) tends to use the same voice actors a lot as well. He's worked with some of the above [=VAs=] on [[WesternAnimation/SymBionicTitan shows]] [[WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack of]] [[WesternAnimation/DextersLaboratory his]] [[WesternAnimation/StarWarsCloneWars own]] (such as Strong, [=LaMarr=], Kane, Kenny and [=DeLisle=]). He's also worked with Creator/CoreyBurton, Richard [=McGonagle=], Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson, Creator/JeffBennett, Creator/RobPaulsen and Creator/JamesArnoldTaylor on two or more projects. While he often works with voice actors, he doesn't only cast them, having worked with on-camera actors and comedians (Creator/{{Mako}}, Tim Russ, Brian Posehn) in a few of his projects.
* Along with some of the ''Franchise/StarTrek'' examples mentioned above, Creator/GregWeisman often tends to bring back some of the actors from ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'' in bit or main characters as well as reusing actors he started working with after ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}''. This includes Creator/ThomAdcoxHernandez, Creator/JeffBennett, Creator/EdwardAsner, Creator/DeeBradleyBaker, Creator/CreeSummer, Creator/VanessaMarshall, Creator/BillFagerbakke, Creator/ClancyBrown, Creator/SteveBlum, and Creator/KeithDavid, among others.
* Every series that Creator/TomRuegger and Creator/StevenSpielberg collaborated on in the 90s seemed to have some combination of these voice actors: Creator/TressMacNeille, Creator/RobPaulsen, Creator/MauriceLamarche, Creator/FrankWelker, Creator/PaulRugg, Creator/CreeSummer
** Julie Brown was a guest on one episode of ''WesternAnimation/{{Tiny Toon Adventures}}'', and later became a regular on ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}''. Tom Ruegger also cast his son Nathan in three of his series.
* For the animation company Creator/{{Rankin Bass|Productions}}, writer Maury Laws and composer Romeo Muller were involved some capacity since the company began and right up to the year that it closed its doors.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheBookOfLife'':
** Xibalba is voiced by Creator/RonPerlman, who has worked with Executive Producer Creator/GuillermoDelToro on ''Film/{{Cronos}}'' and both ''Film/{{Hellboy|2004}}'' movies, among others.
** Creator/GreyDelisle, Creator/CarlosAlazraqui, and Creator/EricBauza have minor roles in this film, all of whom had lead roles in director Jorge Guiterrez's previous work ''WesternAnimation/ElTigreTheAdventuresOfMannyRivera'' (Frida, Puma Loco, and White Pantera respectively).
* Many cartoons made by Creator/NerdCorpsEntertainment feature the same production crew, with company founders Asaph Fipke and Chuck Johnson usually either receiving credit for creating the show or developing the concept for TV. Likewise, many of the same voice actors show up time and time again. Creator/ScottMcNeil, Creator/ColinMurdock, Creator/SamuelVincent, Creator/LeeTockar, and Creator/KathleenBarr voice major characters in at least three of them.
* A majority of Mike & Liz Young's productions under Splash Entertainment (formerly Mike Young Productions and [=MoonScoop=]) have involved assistance from Irish production house [=Telegael=].
* Toronto-based Creator/{{Nelvana}} Studio is prone to using the same actors and actresses in its productions, be they live-action or animation. Common talent includes/included Creator/AlysonCourt, Creator/TaraStrong, Sunny Besen-Thrasher, Michael Fantini, Hadley Kay, Jim Henshaw, Billie Richards, and Creator/CreeSummer, among many, many others.
* It's a pretty safe bet that any cartoon Creator/FreshTV (such as ''WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'') produces will have been created by Fresh TV founders Tom [=McGillis=] and Jennifer Pertsch, and Creator/LaurieElliott will probably have written at least one episode. Due to OnlySoManyCanadianActors, they also frequently share talents with Creator/{{Nelvana}}, which Pertsch and [=McGillis=] used to work at before founding Fresh TV.
** And then of course, there's the voice actors. If someone voices a character in a Fresh TV production, odds are they'll show up in at least one more. Creator/KristinFairlie, Creator/ChristianPotenza, Creator/DarrenFrost, Creator/EmilieClaireBarlow, Creator/TerryMcGurrin, Creator/MeganFahlenbock, Creator/StaceyDePass, Lauren Lipson, and Creator/BrynMcAuley show up in at least three.
** ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'''s director for its first two seasons Todd Kauffman seems to have picked up on the trend. Animated series from his own small studio Neptoon Studios (such as ''WesternAnimation/{{Grojband}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Sidekick}}'', co-productions with Fresh TV and Nelvana, respectively) frequently feature voice actors and writers from Fresh TV's works (and Nelvana's as well, due to Kauffman originally working with them too), and also have their share of recurring names, like Creator/LyonSmith and Creator/DeniseOliver.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'':
** The show reunites many people who worked with creator Chris Savino on ''WesternAnimation/DextersLaboratory'', ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls1998'', and ''WesternAnimation/KickButtowskiSuburbanDaredevil'', all shows where he became a producer at some point.
** The show also acts as a reunion for the cast of ''WesternAnimation/DocMcStuffins''. The common cast includes Lara Jill Miller, Grey [=DeLisle=], Cristina Pucelli, Nika Futterman, Caitlin Carmichael, Andre Robinson, Dee Bradley Baker, Jess Harnell, Kimberly Brooks, Rob Paulsen, Kari Wahlgren, and Gary Anthony Williams.

* Aside from his collaborations with Creator/EdgarWright, Creator/SimonPegg is a member of another posse, which includes Creator/MarkHeap, Creator/KevinEldon, Creator/JuliaDavis, Creator/AmeliaBullmore and Creator/RebeccaFront. Creator/ChrisMorris is often leading charge. They've appeared in a number of works including ''Series/BigTrain'', ''Series/{{Jam}}'', ''Series/ImAlanPartridge'', ''Series/LookAroundYou'', ''Series/{{Spaced}}'', ''Series/BrassEye'' and ''Series/NightyNight''. Don't be surprised to see other familiar British comedy faces, such as Creator/CatherineTate and members of ''Series/TheLeagueOfGentlemen'' popping up.
* Practically every Mitchell and Webb production includes Creator/OliviaColman - one of whose key early roles was Sophie from ''Series/PeepShow'', which also stars Creator/{{David Mitchell|Actor}} and Creator/RobertWebb - and James Bachman.
* Creator/MichaelSchur created one when ''Series/ParksAndRecreation'' was around. A great deal of the main cast pops up in his other comedies in cameos; such as Nick Offerman (as himself) showing up in ''Series/TheGoodPlace'' or in ''Series/BrooklynNineNine'' (as Holt's ex-lover).
* There is a lot of osmosis between ''Series/FullHouse'', ''Series/StepByStep'', and ''Series/FamilyMatters''; they had the same producers and the same lead vocalist for their theme songs.
* Creator/BobSaget's comedy projects often include his ''Series/FullHouse'' castmates, especially Dave Coulier, Creator/CandaceCameronBure and Creator/JodieSweetin.
* Creator/DanSchneider in the Series/NickVerse (Nickelodeon shows ''Series/ICarly'', ''Series/{{Victorious}}'', ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'' and ''Series/{{Zoey 101}}'') has certain actors having 3 or 4 different characters in the same shared universe. The main force behind this is that Dan reuses favoured actors as well as finding his future lead stars by casting them in guest or less than starring roles whilst they are younger. For example, Creator/MirandaCosgrove had ''iCarly'' built around her through her work as Megan on ''Drake & Josh'', with Nathan Kress being recruited for the show because of a one-shot guest character named Toplin. Creator/JennetteMcCurdy's character Sam is based on a one episode character she played in ''Zoey 101''. Creator/VictoriaJustice was in ''Zoey 101'' and ''iCarly'' before ''Victorious'', which was built around her when Dan identified her as a future star years earlier when she was on ''Zoey 101''. Also Taran Killam seems to pop up in his works somewhere as well.
* During the 70s Mexican TV producer Roberto Gomez Bolaños (AKA: "Chespirito") used the same pool of actors on all of his shows, usually playing similar characters. This was particularly noticeable on ''Series/ElChapulinColorado'', which only had one regular character (El Chapulin, played by Bolaños himself) since any other characters in the show where played by actors from his other hit show, ''Series/ElChavoDelOcho'' (where they played regular characters.) They consisted of some combination of himself, Carlos Villagrán, Ramón Valdez, Florinda Meza, María Antonieta de las Nieves, Edgar Vivar, Ruben Aguirre, and (occasionally) his younger brother Horacio Gomez Bolaños.
* A Creator/DisneyChannel Original Movie made these days will likely feature one, or more, or several stars from the channel's original series, and maybe similar directors or writers.
** Likewise, many of the Disney Channel's stars from a six or seven year period started as special guests in the period previous to it. Shows premiering around 2010 or 2011 (''Series/ShakeItUp'', ''Series/ANTFarm'', ''Series/GoodLuckCharlie'') largely star actors and actresses who had a guest role on ''Series/HannahMontana'' and/or ''Series/WizardsOfWaverlyPlace'' beforehand.
** Music/SelenaGomez started on ''Series/TheSuiteLifeOfZackAndCody'' and ''Series/HannahMontana'' prior to ''Series/WizardsOfWaverlyPlace''. Before that, she was in a pilot for a ''Series/LizzieMcGuire'' spinoff that never caught on as well as one for ''Series/TheSuiteLifeOfZackAndCody'' starring Arwin titled Arwin!.
** Music/MileyCyrus seems to the exception. Aside from a non-speaking, blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo (as a background dancer!) in ''Film/HighSchoolMusical 2'', she has never appeared in a Disney Channel Original Movie.
** ''Dadnapped'' from 2009 seems to take this UpToEleven. It stars ''[[Series/HannahMontana Hannah Montana's]]'' Creator/EmilyOsment in the starring role, her fellow ''Hannah'' co-stars Moises Arias and [[Series/KickinIt Jason Earles]], and Creator/DavidHenrie and Creator/JenniferStone from ''Series/WizardsOfWaverlyPlace'', Phill Lewis (a/k/a Mr. Moseby) from ''Series/TheSuiteLifeOfZackAndCody'', and Denzel Whitaker, who acted in ''Suite Life'' and Creator/{{Nickelodeon}}'s ''Series/AllThat''. Osment's dad Eugene also had a role.
** The recurring guest star posse used to only really apply to Disney Channel's movies with many actors such as Ryan Merrimaan appearing in multiple ones some of the show actors would as well, but the shows mostly kept to themselves with actors being confirmed to there own shows. Eventually more and more actors from the series started appearing in the movies, and only very recently has this happened with actors appearing on other shows. Creator/SelenaGomez may be one of the first example of this with her appearance on ''Series/TheSuiteLifeOfZackAndCody'' and later ''Series/HannahMontana'', and eventually landing ''Series/WizardsOfWaverlyPlace''.
* Rob Thomas (of ''Series/VeronicaMars'' fame) works with Diane Ruggiero, Dan Etheridge and John Enbom on a regular basis, and actors who appeared in one series tend to pop up in his subsequent shows, even for a one-off appearance, Ryan Hansen being the most obvious one, but Adam Scott, Martin Starr, Kristen Bell, Alona Tal, Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni, Jane Lynch, Steve Guttenberg and many more have appeared in two or more Rob Thomas shows.
* Clive Doig's puzzle-based {{Edutainment}} shows for Creator/TheBBC generally featured one or more of Janet Ellis, Sylvester [=McCoy=], Mark Speight, Julia Binstead, Phillip Fox and Wilf Lunn.
* The main Series/{{Horrible Histories}} cast comprising of [[Series/GavinAndStacey Mathew Baynton]], [[Series/TheThickOfIt Ben Willbond]], [[Series/PeepShow Jim Howick]], Larry Rickard, Simon Farnaby and Martha Howe-Douglas couldn't bear the thought of not working together anymore after that show ended. This led directly to a new TV series, ''Series/{{Yonderland}}'', and a film ''Film/{{Bill}}''.
* With any Creator/{{Syfy}} show, expect to see several guest appearances by actors from ''other'' Syfy shows. ''Series/{{Sanctuary}}'' and ''Series/{{Warehouse 13}}'' are the best examples, with the former featuring several ''Franchise/{{Stargate|Verse}}'' alumni, and the latter featuring guest appearances from almost every other Syfy show that was currently airing at the time.
* To date, Creator/MatthewPerry and Bradley Whitford have shared the screen in three different shows, including their stint as co-leads on ''Series/Studio60OnTheSunsetStrip''.
* ''Series/AmericanHorrorStory'' changes its cast and plot every season, but each one to date (including the forthcoming ''Freak Show'') has had Creator/JessicaLange, Creator/SarahPaulson, Frances Conroy and Evan Peters in common.
* Any show created by Creator/DonaldPBellisario (''Series/MagnumPI'', ''Series/TalesOfTheGoldMonkey'', ''Series/{{Airwolf}}'', ''Series/QuantumLeap'', ''Series/{{JAG}}'', ''Series/FirstMonday'', ''Series/{{NCIS}}'') will inevitably include [[Creator/TroianBellisario members]] of his family both before and behind the camera.
* Many GameShow creators:
** Creator/ChuckBarris always used Johnny Jacobs as an announcer from about the early 1970s onward. After Jacobs' death, he was replaced by Tony [=McClay=].
** Creator/BobStewart: Creator/BillCullen will always be involved in some way, either as a host or celebrity guest; if not him, then either Creator/DickClark, Jack Clark, or Geoff Edwards. Bob Cobert was usually the ThemeTune composer. If there are other celebrities involved, expect Creator/MarkiePost, Joanne Worley, Nipsey Russell, Henry Polic II, Teresa Ganzel, Ilene Graff, Nathan Cook, etc. They were even termed by the [[http://www.usgameshows.net/x.php?show=TheLoveExperts&sort=0 Game Show Pilot Light]] as the ''Bob Stewart Repertory Company''.
** Creator/MarkGoodson: Nearly every show, at least from the 1970s onward, had either Gene Wood or Johnny Olson as an announcer, and either Edd Kalehoff or another member of Score Productions composing the ThemeTune.
** Creator/MerrillHeatter-Bob Quigley: Always announced by Kenny Williams, except ''Temptation'' (no relation to the ''Series/SaleOfTheCentury'' knockoff of the 2000s) and ''Series/TheMagnificentMarbleMachine''. Mort Garson or Stan Worth composes the music, and quite often the host will be Peter Marshall, Wink Martindale, Creator/AlexTrebek, or Art James.
** Creator/JackBarry-Dan Enright: ThemeTune usually composed by Hal Hidey, with either Charlie O'Donnell, Johnny Jacobs, or Jay Stewart announcing. Richard S. Kline always served as director (until he and several other B&E staffers defected to form ''Kline & Friends'', which produced ''Series/WinLoseOrDraw'' and the 1990-91 version of ''Series/TheJokersWild'', among others).
* You'd be hard-pressed to see an improv showcase on television that doesn't include Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Creator/WayneBrady, Creator/GregProops, Brad Sherwood, Jeff Davis, and/or Kathy Kinney. In fact, because of their association with [[Series/WhoseLineIsItAnyway a certain popular improv series]], the public has affectionally dubbed them, "The Whose Crew."
** Drew Carey, in particular, used a lot of these performers in many of his projects, both improv and scripted. In the case of the former, all of the above-mentioned performers (and more) have appeared on ''Improvaganza'' and ''Green Screen Show''; for the latter, Ryan Stiles and Kathy Kinney were co-stars on ''Series/TheDrewCareyShow'', Colin Mochrie was a semi-regular, while Brad Sherwood, Wayne Brady, Greg Proops, and others appeared specifically in the live episodes.
** And a few years after Drew took over on ''Series/ThePriceIsRight'', Drew even tapped Sherwood and Davis as substitute announcers after Rich Fields left the show (the show ultimately went with George Gray). In turn, he also had Fields as announcer on ''Series/DrewCareysImprovAGanza''. And Wayne Brady's announcer on ''Series/LetsMakeADeal'', Jonathan Mangum, has popped up on many of the newer shows, including the new version of ''Whose Line''.
* Kenny Leon has directed some predominantly-African-American TV adaptations of various plays with Craig Zadan and Neil Meron as producers. Music/QueenLatifah often becomes part of the cast, and also appeared in some movies Zadan and Meron produced under different directors.
* Creator/TheCW is basically a network-wide example. Examples include:
** ''Series/{{Arrow}}'', which stars Creator/StephenAmell who previously had minor roles on ''Series/TheVampireDiaries'' and ''Series/NineOhTwoOneOh'' as well as Creator/WillaHolland who had a recurring role on ''Series/GossipGirl'' and Creator/KatieCassidy who also had roles on ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'' and ''Gossip Girl''. Later after recurring Arrow, Janina Gavankar played a memorable recurring role on The Vampire Diaries.
** Stephen Amell's cousin [[Creator/RobbieAmell Robbie]] was previously the main star in the short-lived ''Series/TheTomorrowPeople'' before recurring as Firestorm in ''The Flash''.
** ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow'', which consists of actors playing characters from ''Arrow'' and ''The Flash''. When Season 2 started, they brought in Creator/MaisieRichardsonSellers from ''Series/TheOriginals'' to play Vixen. Season 3 added Creator/CourtneyFord, who actually had to briefly juggle between starring in ''Supernatural'' seasons 13 and 14 (in which she recurred) and ''Legends'' seasons 3 and 4.
** When ''Series/{{Supergirl|2015}}'' moved to the network, they hired Creator/ChrisWood from ''The Vampire Diaries'', ''Series/{{Containment}}'', and ''Series/TheCarrieDiaries'' as a series regular.
** ''Series/{{Frequency|2016}}'' stars Creator/PeytonList who was on ''The Flash'' and ''90210''.
** ''Series/StarCrossed'' stars Creator/MattLanter from ''90210'' and Creator/Malese ow from ''The Vampire Diaries'' as well co-star Creator/SusanWalters in a recurring role. Jow, Walters and regular Greg Finlay would let book roles on ''The Flash''.
** Creator/AlexanderCalvert, who recurs in ''Arrow'' season 4, later appears as a main character in ''Supernatural'' from season 13 onward.
** Before ''Supernatural'' ended its final season, Creator/JaredPadalecki was already tapped to star in ''Series/{{Walker}}'', whose cast includes many of the same actors who had starred in ''Supernatural'', including Padalecki's wife [[Creator/GenevievePadalecki Genevieve]] and Creator/MitchPileggi, and other The CW shows such as Creator/LindseyMorgan (''Series/The100''), Creator/MollyHagan (''Series/JaneTheVirgin'' and ''Series/IZombie''), and Creator/OdetteAnnable (''Supergirl'').
** ''Series/TheBoys2019'': Creator/EricKripke reunited with several ''Supernatural'' actors: Creator/JimBeaver and Creator/JensenAckles among them.
** ''Series/{{One Tree Hill}}'': The cast tends to reunite for various projects (not all at the same time): Creator/HilarieBurton, Creator/DanneelAckles, Creator/BarbaraAlynWoods, Creator/AntwonTanner, Creator/TylerHilton, Creator/BethanyJoyLenz, Creator/JamesLafferty, and Creator/StephenColletti have starred in various Lifetime/Hallmark Christmas movies with each other.
* ''Franchise/UltraSeries'': In the early series (''Series/UltraQ'', ''Series/{{Ultraman}}'', and ''Series/UltraSeven''), Creator/EijiTsuburaya used pretty much the exact same selection of writers, directors, and SFX artists, notably head writer Tetsuo Kinjo, his son Hajime Tsuburaya, and monster artist Toru "Tohl" Narita. A few actors were also transferred between series, like Hiroko Sakurai and Sandayu Dokumamushi. Additionally, many of these people had worked with Tsuburaya on his Creator/{{Toho}} movies.
* Creator/DavidSimon has multiple actors that he uses and reuses over again. The list of actors he's used in two or more shows is too long to list. Even limiting the list to actors appearing in 3 or more shows, it still includes Maria Broom, Reg E. Cathay, Anwan Glover, Michael Kostroff, Clayton LeBouef, Creator/ClarkePeters, Creator/JamesRansone, Corey Parker Robinson, Lee Tergesen, and Jim True-Frost.
* In the eighties-to-nineties, David Croft made three recent-historical sitcoms which all starred Paul Shane, Jeffrey Holland and Sue Pollard: ''Series/HiDeHi'', ''Series/YouRangMLord'' (written with Jimmy Perry) and ''Oh, Dr Beeching!'' (written with Richard Spendlove). ''You Rang, M'Lord?'' also featured Michael Knowles and Donald Hewlitt from ''Series/ItAintHalfHotMum'' and Bill Pertwee from ''Series/DadsArmy'' (both also by Croft and Perry). Several of the actors had previously played one-off characters in Croft and Jeremy Lloyd's ''Series/AreYouBeingServed'', as did Gordon Kaye, who went on to star in Croft and Lloyd's ''Series/AlloAllo''.
* Several actors have not just guested, but starred in more than one of Bambu Producciones' shows. A nonexclusive list includes: [[Series/{{Velvet}} Paula Echevarría]], [[Series/CocaineCoast Javier Rey]], José Sacristán, Manuela Velles, [[Series/AltaMar Eloy Azorín]], Llorenç González, Daniel Lundh, [[Series/CableGirls Yon González]], and [[Series/GranHotel Amaia Salamanca]].
* ''Series/DoctorWho'' and multiple shows from British production company Kudos - ''Series/{{Broadchurch}}'' alone features twenty one (twenty five if you include Creator/BigFinish audio stories based on ''Who'') actors who’ve also appeared in ''Who'' including ''three'' past or future Doctors and one companion.
* There are a number of actors who pop up in multiple Creator/RyanMurphy shows. Creator/SarahPaulson is the most prominent with roles in 5 of his series (albeit one was a one off appearance on ''Series/NipTuck''). Creator/MattBomer, Creator/ConnieBritton, Creator/DarrenCriss, Creator/LeslieGrossman, Creator/JessicaLange, Creator/PattiLuPone, Creator/KateMara, Creator/DylanMcDermott, Creator/EvanPeters, and Creator/FinnWittrock are just a handful of the others with 3 or more appearances in his work.
* Creator/StevenConrad: Across ''Series/{{Patriot}}'', ''Series/PerpetualGraceLTD'' and ''Series/UltraCitySmiths'', Conrad has given multiple roles to Kurtwood Smith, Terry O'Quinn, Jimmi Simpson, Luis Guzman, Chris Conrad, Damon Herriman, and Julian Richings.
* While Creator/ChuckLorre's shows don't tend to cast actors in main roles more than once, several actors have had recurring/guest roles on several of his shows. Among them are Melissa Tang (guest on ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', ''Series/YoungSheldon'', and ''Series/BPositive''; recurring on ''Series/TheKominskyMethod'' and ''Series/{{Mom}}''), Brian Thomas Smith (guest on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'', recurring on ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'' and ''Series/UnitedStatesOfAl''), Creator/SaraRue (recurring on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'', ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', and ''Series/{{Mom}}''; main role on ''Series/BPositive''), Jane Seymour (guest on ''Series/DharmaAndGreg'', recurring on ''Series/TheKominskyMethod'' and ''Series/BPositive''.), John Ross Bowie (recurring on ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'' and ''Series/UnitedStatesOfAl''), D.B. Sweeney (recurring on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'' and ''Series/BPositive''), Jason Kravits (guest on ''Series/YoungSheldon'', ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', and ''Series/TheKominskyMethod''; recurring on ''Series/BPositive''), Creator/MissiPyle (recurring on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'', ''Series/{{Mom}}'' and ''Series/{{Disjointed}}''; guest on ''Series/BobHeartsAbishola''), Elizabeth Sung (guest on ''Series/MikeAndMolly'', ''Series/{{Disjointed}}'', and ''Series/TheKominskyMethod''), and Creator/AllisonJanney (guest on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'' and ''Series/TheKominskyMethod''; main role on ''Series/{{Mom}}'').
** A particularly interesting example of this is Vernee Watson, who had recurring or guest appearances on ''Series/GraceUnderFire'', ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'', ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', ''Series/MikeAndMolly'', and ''Series/YoungSheldon'', as well as a main role on ''Series/BobHeartsAbishola''. Her appearances are particularly notable in that she plays a nurse in nearly all of them.
** Creator/BillyGardell is a rare example of an actor who ''does'' have a main role in multiple Creator/ChuckLorre series, as he starred in both ''Series/MikeAndMolly'' and ''Series/BobHeartsAbishola'' in addition to playing a recurring role on ''Series/YoungSheldon''.

Creator/ChrisMorris is Andy Hamilton's comedies often leading charge. They've appeared share a similar supporting cast, for example both Radio/OldHarrysGame and Radio/RevoltingPeople feature (as well as Hamilton himself) actors Philip Pope and Michael Fenton Stevens (both of whom featured in a number of works other shows including ''Series/BigTrain'', ''Series/{{Jam}}'', ''Series/ImAlanPartridge'', ''Series/LookAroundYou'', ''Series/{{Spaced}}'', ''Series/BrassEye'' and ''Series/NightyNight''. Don't be surprised to see other familiar British comedy faces, such as Creator/CatherineTate and members of ''Series/TheLeagueOfGentlemen'' popping up.
* Practically every Mitchell and Webb production includes Creator/OliviaColman - one of whose key early roles was Sophie from ''Series/PeepShow'', which

* Creator/DanSchneider in the Series/NickVerse (Nickelodeon shows ''Series/ICarly'', ''Series/{{Victorious}}'', ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'' and ''Series/{{Zoey 101}}'') has certain actors
God, having 3 or 4 different characters in the same shared universe.

* While Creator/ChuckLorre's shows don't tend to cast actors in main roles more than once, several actors have had recurring/guest roles on several of his shows. Among them are Melissa Tang (guest on ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', ''Series/YoungSheldon'', and ''Series/BPositive''; recurring on ''Series/TheKominskyMethod'' and ''Series/{{Mom}}''), Brian Thomas Smith (guest on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'', recurring on ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'' and ''Series/UnitedStatesOfAl''), Creator/SaraRue (recurring on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'', ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', and ''Series/{{Mom}}''; main role on ''Series/BPositive''), Jane Seymour (guest on ''Series/DharmaAndGreg'', recurring on ''Series/TheKominskyMethod'' and ''Series/BPositive''.), John Ross Bowie (recurring on ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'' and ''Series/UnitedStatesOfAl''), D.B. Sweeney (recurring on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'' and ''Series/BPositive''), Jason Kravits (guest on ''Series/YoungSheldon'', ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', and ''Series/TheKominskyMethod''; recurring on ''Series/BPositive''), Creator/MissiPyle (recurring on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'', ''Series/{{Mom}}'' and ''Series/{{Disjointed}}'';
guest on ''Series/BobHeartsAbishola''), Elizabeth Sung (guest on ''Series/MikeAndMolly'', ''Series/{{Disjointed}}'', and ''Series/TheKominskyMethod''), and Creator/AllisonJanney (guest on ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'' and ''Series/TheKominskyMethod''; main role on ''Series/{{Mom}}'').
** Creator/BillyGardell is a rare example of an actor who ''does'' have a main role in multiple Creator/ChuckLorre series, as he starred in both ''Series/MikeAndMolly'' and ''Series/BobHeartsAbishola'' in addition to playing a recurring role on ''Series/YoungSheldon''.
role.

* In music, EVERY RAP GROUP, CREW OR LABEL EVER. Every solo album one member does, you can almost guarantee the others won't be far behind. This is particularly prevalent in the somewhat self-insular rap groups the Music/WuTangClan and Music/{{OFWGKTA}}.
** and Young Money. Any album by any member of YMCMB is probably going to have at least another member of the team on it somewhere ([[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters and there are several]]). Being the labels' founding musicians, chances are any YMCMB album will have some sort of vocal involvement from either Birdman or Music/LilWayne.
*** Or Music/{{Drake}} or Music/NickiMinaj. The three of them along with Wayne make up YMCMB's PowerTrio, and are the three most well-known members, so this is a JustifiedTrope to some extent.
** GOOD Music, Music/KanyeWest's [[MythologyGag clique]] and label, does this as well - chances are any album the label releases will have involvement either in production or in vocals from Kanye himself, a hook from The-Dream, and features from any artist on the roster.
*** Kanye himself. Most stuff he's done since the start of his career has involved Common, John Legend, Malik Yusuf, Mos Def and Music/JayZ somewhere along the line. He also gained his childhood friends Really Doe and GLC considerable exposure, along with his cousin Tony Williams. These days, if Kanye has a new album out, you can usually expect any (or indeed all) of these artists to be in hot pursuit - anyone mentioned above, Kid Cudi, [[Music/WuTangClan Raekwon]], The-Dream, Jay-Z, anyone not mentioned who is signed to GOOD Music, Talib Kweli, [[Music/BonIver Justin Vernon]], Music/LupeFiasco, Music/LaRoux and Music/{{Rihanna}}. You can also always expect his mentor No I.D. to have given some of the tracks a once-over production-wise.
*** And Jay-Z. Almost every Jay-Z album these days will involve production from one or more of Kanye West, Timbaland, Just Blaze or Pharrell. Chances are Kanye may have a verse or two as well. Others who are likely to be involved are Jay's wife Music/{{Beyonce}}, Music/JCole, Music/RickRoss, Music/{{Nas}} and Rihanna.
* Music/BradPaisley largely writes songs with Kelley Lovelace, Chris [=DuBois=], or Lee Thomas Miller. He also uses members of his road band, The Drama Kings, on most of his albums.
* Music/GeorgeStrait has had many of the same staff since his 1992 soundtrack for ''Film/PureCountry'', including the same batch of session musicians (among them: drummer Eddie Bayers, fiddler Stuart Duncan, steel guitarist Paul Franklin, guitarists Steve Gibson and Brent Mason, pianist John Barlow Jarvis, and bassist Glenn Worf). Tony Brown was also the producer for all of these until ''Cold Beer Conversation'', when Chuck Ainlay took over. Almost all of his albums have also included at least one song written by Dean Dillon, who penned his debut single "Unwound".
* Music/GarthBrooks has several examples:
** The most famous is "The G-Men", a set of session musicians who have appeared on all of his albums except ''Music/InTheLifeOfChrisGaines'': Bruce Bouton (steel guitar), Mark Casstevens (acoustic guitar), Mike Chapman (bass guitar), Rob Hajacos (fiddle), Chris Leuzinger (electric guitar), Milton Sledge (drums), and Bobby Wood (keyboards). All of his albums until ''The Ultimate Hits'' (again excluding the Chris Gaines album) were produced by Allen Reynolds and engineered by Mark Miller ([[NamesTheSame not the lead singer]] of Sawyer Brown). After Reynolds retired, Miller was promoted to producer and John Kelton took over engineering duties. Many members of the G-Men also played on most albums produced by Reynolds in the late 80s-early 90s, such as those by Hal Ketchum, Crystal Gayle, and Music/KathyMattea, as well as Ty England's ''Highways and Dance Halls'', which Garth produced (Ty was formerly a guitarist in Garth's road band).
** In addition, every studio album except for ''No Fences'' and ''Man Against Machine'' has also featured at least one song written by Kent Blazy. Other songwriters who have turned up on multiple albums include Tony Arata, Pat Alger, Stephanie Davis, Victoria Shaw, and Kim Williams.
* Music/TravisTritt's first four studio albums had multiple overlapping musicians, including backing vocalists Dana [=McVicker=] and Dennis Locorriere, bassist Mike Brignardello, guitarists Richard Bennett and Wendell Cox, and drummer Steve Turner. All four were produced by Gregg Brown, with several songs written by Jill Colucci, Stewart Harris, and Tritt himself.
* Except for his little known debut "What Room Was the Holiday In" and songs on which he was a featured artist, all of Music/TimMcGraw's material has been produced by Byron Gallimore (albeit with a couple different co-producers over the years). Also, the vast majority of his music videos were directed by Sherman Hasley until his 2013 death.
* Whenever Music/{{Sia}} makes a music video, you can expect Maddie Ziegler to be in it after appearing in her last three.
* Music/KennyChesney has been produced by Buddy Cannon since 1997. Also, nearly all of his music videos since "Young" in 2002 have been directed or co-directed by Shaun Silva.
* John Conlee has been produced by Bud Logan for literally his entire career, and has used Brent Rowan as his sole lead guitarist since "Friday Night Blues".
* Music/TobyKeith has included songs written by Scotty Emerick from nearly every album from ''How Do You Like Me Now?!'' onward, and several from Bobby Pinson starting with ''Big Dog Daddy''. Also, all but two of his music videos from 1997's "We Were in Love" onward have been directed by Michael Salomon.
* The vast majority of Music/KeithUrban albums have at least one song written by Monty Powell, and backing vocals from Jerry Flowers (a former member of Urban's pre-fame band The Ranch).
* A number of videos from Music/CyndiLauper's ''She's So Unusual'' period featured Lauper alongside wrestler/wrestling manager Wrestling/CaptainLouAlbano and her then-boyfriend David Wolff in roles.
* Music/IronMaiden's 1980s days had producer Martin Birch and artist Derek Riggs as a given. From 2000s on, while the artist has been inconsistent, South African producer Kevin Shirley is a given.
* All but two of Music/PattyLoveless' albums have her husband Emory Gordy Jr. serving as both bass guitarist and producer. Many of them also had at least one song written by Kostas, and backing vocals from Music/VinceGill (for whom she has also returned the favor on many occasions) and Mac [=McAnally=].
* Nearly all of the albums released on Average Joes Entertainment, a label co-owned by CountryRap artist Colt Ford, have been produced by Noah Gordon (who had a minor chart entry in 1994 with "The Blue Pages") and Shannon Houchins.
* Every release by CountryMusic record label Big Loud has been produced by Joey Moi, who co-owns the label. Many of their releases are penned by their roster of songwriters: Craig Wiseman (the label's other owner), Chris Tompkins, Rodney Clawson, Matt Dragstrem, Brad and Brett Warren (who formerly recorded as the Warren Brothers), Ernest K. Smith, HARDY, and Sarah Buxton. Both Ernest K. Smith and HARDY also record for the label, and Buxton sometimes chimes in on backing vocals.
* Music/BigAndRich had their singer-songwriting clique, known collectively as the [=MuzikMafia=]. The fronting members included Big & Rich members Big Kenny and John Rich; Gretchen Wilson; James Otto; Shannon Lawson; and Music/CowboyTroy. Many of them collaborated with each other, often singing and writing on each other's albums. A few other non-musical members existed over the years, but the group seems to have largely dissipated.
* Music/TracyLawrence tended to have most of his songs written by Larry Boone, Paul Nelson, and Kenny Beard. He also did most of his production work with Flip Anderson, a member of his road band.
* Creator/FactoryRecords used Peter Saville as its designer and Martin Hannett served as in-house producer on many of the early releases, including those by Music/JoyDivision and Music/NewOrder. Saville kept designing for the New Order even after Factory went bankrupt in 1992.
* All of Music/JustinMoore's albums have been produced by Jeremy Stover, who also writes many of the songs on them. Many of his albums also feature songs written by at least one member of the songwriting team The Peach Pickers (Dallas Davidson, Ben Hayslip, and Rhett Akins[[note]]best known for his 1995 hit "That Ain't My Truck" and for being the father of Music/ThomasRhett[[/note]]).
* Music/ClintBlack wrote nearly all of his material with his guitarist Hayden Nicholas.
* With regard to anything he's done since Music/{{ABBA}}, if Benny Andersson is involved, expect Tommy Korberg, Anders and Karin Glenmark, and latterly Helen Sjoholm to be in there as well.
* Nearly all of Music/RonnieMilsap's albums were produced by Tom Collins and/or Ron Galbraith, and most of them also had at least one song written by Mike Reid.
* The combination of Music/EltonJohn, lyricist Bernie Taupin, his backing band of Davey Johnstone (guitar), the late Dee Murray (bass), Nigel Olsson (drums) and sometimes Ray Cooper (percussion), with production by the late Gus Dudgeon and Paul Buckmaster or Del Newman conducting orchestral parts, was arguably collectively responsible for the classic Elton John sound of 1972-1975, and has partially if not fully been involved with Elton ever since. Davey and Nigel have stayed as part of Elton's backing band since 2001, while Bernie has stayed (with few exceptions) as Elton's full-time lyricist since 1983.
* Music/GiorgioMoroder's production posse in the 1970s included co-producer Pete Bellotte and a fairly consistent core group of musicians including Keith Forsey (drums), Mats Bjorklund (guitar), Les Hurdle (bass) and Dino Solera (woodwind). Bellotte and Forsey remained frequent collaborators as Moroder moved more into film soundtracks in the 1980s, Forsey also increasingly acting as lyricist and sometimes co-producer. During the 1980s, a recognisable posse of lead and backing vocalists turned up on many of Moroder's projects, including Paul Engemann, Beth Andersen, E.C. Daily and Joe Esposito.

* Andy Hamilton's comedies often share a similar supporting cast, for example both Radio/OldHarrysGame and Radio/RevoltingPeople feature (as well as Hamilton himself) actors Philip Pope and Michael Fenton Stevens (both of whom featured in other shows including Series/KYTV) whilst actor David Swift also appear in Old Harry's Game as God, having previously appeared alongside Robert Duncan (Scumspawn), Fenton Stevens, Pope and Hamilton in Series/DropTheDeadDonkey in which James Grout (Old Harry's Game) also played a guest role.

** In fact, there's a whole stable of big time stars like Creator/VinceVaughn and Creator/WillFerrell, supported by many actors (usually because of Second City connections) that could be from ''Series/TheOfficeUS'', ''[[Series/SaturdayNightLive SNL]]'', or ''Series/TheDailyShow''. Some of these actors could be from two shows: for example, Creator/DavidKoechner was a cast member of ''SNL'' and ''Series/TheOfficeUS'' and Creator/EdHelms was from ''Series/{{The Office|US}}'' and ''Series/TheDailyShowWithJonStewart''. Creator/JuddApatow probably plays behind the scenes.
** When Apatow switched from TV to movies, he obviously kept the section of his old Rolodex with the "freaks" from ''Series/FreaksAndGeeks'' (Creator/SethRogen, Creator/JamesFranco and Creator/JasonSegel) and one of the "geeks" (Creator/MartinStarr).
*** Also from his second short lived series ''Series/{{Undeclared}}'' Creator/JayBaruchel and Creator/CarlaGallo.
*** Also expect Creator/JonahHill, Creator/PaulRudd, Creator/BillHader, Creator/ChristopherMintzPlasse, and/or to appear as well in anything with his name on it.
*** Apatow's wife Leslie Mann has been in all four of his movies so far. Their two daughters in three.
** Creator/SethRogen has launched a splinter posse without Creator/JuddApatow with many of the same actors.
* Creator/ToddPhillips has cast Creator/VinceVaughn, Creator/WillFerrell, Bryan Callen, Creator/AmySmart, Creator/AndyDick, Matt Walsh, Music/SnoopDogg, Seann William Scott, Creator/BradleyCooper, Creator/ZachGalifanakas, and Dan Finnerty in more than one film. He has also worked with Creator/EdHelms and Creator/KenJeong more than once but as part of ''Film/TheHangover'' trilogy. Brecklyn Mayer would have been part of the alumni if he had starred in The Hangover.
* Greg Mottola has cast Creator/BillHader in three of his films. He has also cast Creator/KristenWiig, Creator/SethRogen, Jo Lo Truglio and Martin Starr in two of his films.
* The Creator/JohnFord [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ford_Stock_Company Stock Company]].
* David Wain frequetly casts Creator/ElizabethBanks, Creator/PaulRudd, Creator/AmyPoehler and The State alumi in his films.
* Creator/QuentinTarantino writes and directs all his movies. Lawrence Bender, Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Creator/MichaelMadsen, Creator/HarveyKeitel, Creator/UmaThurman, Creator/BruceWillis, Creator/SamuelLJackson, Creator/TimRoth and Creator/ChristophWaltz are all regulars. All of his films were edited by Sally Menke until her death in 2010; the films he made since were edited by Fred Raskin. From ''Film/KillBill'' onward he's used Robert Richardson as his cinematographer. Whenever he wants to collaborate with another director, he usually turns to Creator/RobertRodriguez (see below).
* Creator/RobertRodriguez's regular stable of actors includes Creator/MickeyRourke, Creator/JessicaAlba, Creator/AntonioBanderas, Creator/DannyTrejo, [[Creator/CheechAndChong Cheech Marin]], Creator/RoseMcGowan, and Creator/SalmaHayek. ''Film/SpyKids'' stars Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega could very well end up here as well as he's used them each in each of the two ''Machete'' films respectively. Additionally, he's directed Creator/PedroPascal across multiple mediums. As for crew, [[CopiouslyCreditedCreator Rodriguez is the crew]]. Also, a lot of bit-parts and behind the scenes work involve members of his family, particularly his sons Rebel, Rocket and Racer, credited as consultants for the ''Film/SpyKids'' movies.
* Creator/ChristopherGuest movies all involve the same actors. Guest himself, Creator/HarryShearer, Creator/MichaelMcKean, Creator/EugeneLevy, Creator/CatherineOHara, Creator/ParkerPosey, Creator/JenniferCoolidge, Creator/FredWillard, Ed Begley Jr., Creator/BobBalaban, Creator/JaneLynch, Creator/JohnMichaelHiggins, Jim Piddock, Don Lake, Paul Dooley, and Michael Hitchcock all appeared together in ''Film/AMightyWind'' and ''Film/ForYourConsideration'', all but Shearer and Dooley appeared in ''Film/BestInShow'', all but [=McKean=], Levy, O'Hara, and Dooley appeared in ''Film/{{Mascots}}'', ten[[note]] Guest, Shearer, Levy, O'Hara, Posey, Willard, Balaban, Lake, Dooley, Hitchcock[[/note]] appeared in ''Film/WaitingForGuffman'', and five[[note]] Guest, Shearer, [=McKean=], Begley, Willard[[/note]] appeared in ''Film/ThisIsSpinalTap''; Paul Benedict was also in the cast for ''Film/ThisIsSpinalTap'', ''Film/WaitingForGuffman'', and ''Film/AMightyWind''. Most of the films also feature behind-the-scenes contributions by the cast members; for example, [=McKean=] and Shearer received writing credits for ''This is Spinal Tap'', the musical score for ''Waiting for Guffman'' was credited to [=McKean=], Guest, and Shearer, and the score for ''A Mighty Wind'' had contributions from Guest, Shearer, Levy, O'Hara, and [=McKean=] (the last of whom, along with his wife Annette O'Toole, co-wrote the Oscar-nominated "A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow").
* Creator/JaneCampion has worked multiple times with the following actors and cinematographers:
** Campion has been longtime friends with Creator/NicoleKidman, having discovered the actress when she was in drama school. Campion directed Kidman in the 1996 film ''The Portrait of a Lady''. Kidman would go on to star in the second season of ''Series/TopOfTheLake'', a show which was co-created by Campion.
** Campion cast Creator/HarveyKeitel in ''Film/ThePiano'' and ''Film/HolySmoke''.
** Genevieve Lemon and Karen Colston played the two female lead characters in Campion’s first film, ''Film/{{Sweetie}}''. They would also appear in ''The Piano'' and ''Top of the Lake''.
** Kerry Fox starred in ''An Angel at My Table'' and ''Film/BrightStar''.
** Campion has worked with cinematographers Stuart Dryburgh and Dion Beebe.
* Creator/WesAnderson films: Creator/OwenWilson and Creator/LukeWilson, Creator/JasonSchwartzman, Creator/AnjelicaHuston, Creator/BillMurray and Indian actor Kumar Pallana, who has been in all of Anderson's films except ''Film/TheLifeAquaticWithSteveZissou''. Creator/AdrienBrody, Creator/WillemDafoe, Creator/JeffGoldblum, Creator/TildaSwinton, Creator/MathieuAmalric, Creator/LeaSeydoux and Creator/BobBalaban have made frequent appearances as well, and Creator/TonyRevolori and Creator/SaoirseRonan seem to be the most recent initiates. He also usually has Robert Yeoman as cinematographer, Milena Canonero as costume designer (since ''Film/TheLifeAquaticWithSteveZissou''), and Adam Stockhausen as production designer. Music/MarkMothersbaugh was his main composer for his early films, a role which Music/AlexandreDesplat has since filled for Anderson on all his films starting with ''WesternAnimation/FantasticMrFox''.
* Creator/JasonReitman has put Creator/JKSimmons in all five of his movies. He also directed Simmons in a live reading of ''Film/TheEmpireStrikesBack'' with Simmons reading the part of Darth Vader.
** ''Film/{{Tully}}'' will mark the third film he has directed, that is written by Diablo Cody and second starring Charlize Theron.
** Elena Kampouris had a small roll in Labor Day and a much larger part in Men, Women, and Children.
** Creator/JenniferGarner was in both ''Film/{{Juno}}'' and ''Film/MenWomenAndChildren''.
* In his early works, Creator/JohnHughes mainly used Brat Packers, the most recurring being Creator/MollyRingwald and Creator/AnthonyMichaelHall. After moving on from teen films, you'd be hard pressed to find a John Hughes film without Creator/JohnCandy in it, be it starring role or OneSceneWonder cameo.
** Creator/MacaulayCulkin is best known for the Hughes written ''Film/HomeAlone'', but previously was directed by Hughes in ''Film/UncleBuck''.
* Creator/AdamSandler and his Creator/HappyMadisonProductions house:
** Expect any permutation of Creator/RobSchneider, Creator/DavidSpade, Creator/ChrisRock, Creator/ChrisFarley, (and after his death, his brother John.) Creator/KevinNealon, Creator/KevinJames, and Nick Swardson (in more recent movies) to be somewhere among the cast members. Of his crew of actors, some are former ''[[Series/SaturdayNightLive SNL]]'' cast members from the early 1990's.
** Sandler's recurring actors also have included Creator/SteveBuscemi, Peter Dante, and Allen Covert.
** And with crew members, Sandler has Rupert Gregson-Williams as composer (he's also worked Teddy Castalucci several times), Perry Andelin Blake as production designer, Brooks Arthur as music supervisor and Jack Giarraputo as producer. He also has the Panavision Genesis used on all his projects after working with Dean Semler (one of the creators of the camera) on a pair of projects.
** Sandler's personal assistant Jonathan Loughran who appears in most of his movies.
** Sandler is behind Spade's ''Series/RulesOfEngagement'', though Sandler has no credited involvement. In a WhatCouldHaveBeen, a Sandler-executive produced pilot starring Creator/NormMacDonald and Creator/JonLovitz was also produced.
* Creator/KevinSmith also tends to keep working with the same people from one movie to another:
** His original gang included Creator/BenAffleck, Creator/MattDamon, Creator/JasonLee, himself, his wife Jennifer Schwalbach, Creator/JasonMewes, Walt Flanagan, Bryan Johnson, Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson, with Creator/JoeyLaurenAdams and Creator/EthanSuplee to a lesser extent. Most of his movies took place on [[Film/TheViewAskewniverse the same universe]], which meant there were some actors playing multiple characters. Additionally, most of his movies featured crew members Scott Mosier (producer) and Dave Klein (director of photography).
** Years later, Smith formed another crew, with only himself, Jennifer Schwalbach and Jason Mewes remaining from the old days. His more recent collaborators include his daughter Harley Quinn Smith, Ralph Garman, Creator/JustinLong, Creator/HaleyJoelOsment, Génesis Rodríguez, [[WebVideo/EpicMealTime Harley Morenstein]], Creator/JohnnyDepp and his daughter Lily-Rose Depp. Jason Mewes' wife Jordan Monsanto also joined the team as a producer.
* Say what? Creator/DarrenAronofsky is making a movie? Expect Music/ClintMansell to do the score, Matthew Libatique to be the cinematographer and Mark Margolis to appear in it. ''[[Film/{{Mother2017}} Mother]]'' is his first without Margolis or Mansell.
* When Creator/StevenSoderbergh and Creator/GeorgeClooney got the idea to remake ''Film/OceansEleven'', they went on to form a pretty tight A-List clique themselves. When a movie is directed, or at least produced by the two, it's pretty common to see Clooney, Creator/MattDamon, or Creator/BradPitt starring opposite Creator/JuliaRoberts, Creator/AngelinaJolie or Creator/CateBlanchett. Creator/DonCheadle, Creator/DavidStrathairn, and Creator/CaseyAffleck are commonly in supporting roles.
* Creator/TheWachowskis have a stable of behind-the-scenes production folks that they use on every movie. Not so much for actors, but Creator/HugoWeaving has started to become their go-to guy when they need a good actor. Yet, somehow, he was nowhere to be seen in ''Film/SpeedRacer''. Huh.
** For ''Film/JupiterAscending'', some of The Wachowskis folks from ''Film/CloudAtlas'', actors Doona Bae and Creator/JamesDArcy, have unspecified roles while ''Atlas'' cinematographer John Toll is taking roles as DP once again.
* Creator/EdgarWright, Creator/SimonPegg, Creator/NickFrost and Joe Cornish, Creator/DylanMoran, Creator/BillBailey, [[Series/TheMightyBoosh Julian Barratt, Noel Fielding]], [[Series/SnuffBox Matt Berry, Rich Fulcher]], [[Series/ManToManWithDeanLearner Richard Ayoade]] and [[Series/GarthMarenghisDarkplace Matthew Holness]]. They often pop up in each other's various projects.
* Creator/TheCoenBrothers are a two-man posse on their own. They claim to divide the writing, directing and producing credits randomly between them for each film (the editing credit goes to an InventedIndividual because they were embarrassed at their names appearing so often), and people who've worked for them tend to describe them as TheDividual when it comes to artistic decisions.
** They usually draw from the same posse of actors, such as Creator/JohnGoodman, Creator/FrancesMcDormand (Joel's wife), Creator/SteveBuscemi, Creator/PeterStormare, Creator/GeorgeClooney, Creator/JohnTurturro, Creator/JonPolito, Creator/RichardJenkins, Creator/JoshBrolin and Creator/BillyBobThornton. And again Creator/SamRaimi and Creator/BruceCampbell tends to show up in small parts. They also gave Creator/JeffBridges two starring roles.
** Carter Burwell and/or T Bone Burnett have done all their scores.
** Roger Deakins has done cinematography on every Coen film since ''Film/MillersCrossing'' other than ''Film/BurnAfterReading''. Before that it was Creator/BarrySonnenfeld for the first three films. Later films have since involved Bruno Delbonnel.
* Many movies directed by Creator/BlakeEdwards have soundtracks by Music/HenryMancini, and were edited by Ralph E. Winters. Actors frequently used in his works were his second wife Creator/JulieAndrews, Creator/PeterSellers (despite their tumultuous relationship), Graham Stark and Dick Crockett, the latter of whom also worked as his stunt co-ordinator. His main co-writers were Frank and Tom Waldman in the [=60s=] and [=70s=], and his son Geoffrey Edwards in the [=80s=]. Cinematography duties were handled by various individuals for much of his career, but he settled down to alternating between Harry Stradling Jr. and Dick Bush (the former when he was filming in the US, and the latter in the UK) later on.
* Creator/MontyPython members are known to appear in each others' movies, and in the works of Python-animator-turned-movie director Creator/TerryGilliam. Like ''Film/{{Jabberwocky}}'', ''Film/ErikTheViking'', ''Film/{{Brazil}}'', ''Film/TimeBandits'', ''Film/{{Yellowbeard}}'', ''Film/AFishCalledWanda'', ''Film/TheAdventuresOfBaronMunchausen'' and ''Film/TheWindInTheWillows''. This has caused some fans to assume that all of these movies are in fact Python productions, despite the fact that the troupe has considered itself to have been disbanded since the death of member Creator/GrahamChapman.
* Creator/ZhangYimou worked for a long time with acclaimed actress Creator/GongLi. Unfortunately, they broke up, and now he's adopted Ziyi Zhang (''Film/CrouchingTigerHiddenDragon'') as a muse instead.
* Creator/JohnWoo used to work with Creator/ChowYunFat a lot back in his Hong Kong days. About the only big HeroicBloodshed movie he made in Hong Kong, that didn't feature him, was ''Film/BulletInTheHead''.
* Movies featuring Creator/JohnCusack will usually feature other Cusacks, as well as Jeremy Piven, a longtime friend.
** If either Cusack or Creator/TimRobbins is the lead, expect the other to make a cameo at least half the time.
* In the early Creator/GeorgeLucas days, it was rare that his films ''didn't'' include Creator/HarrisonFord. Ironically, Lucas wanted to avoid this trope and always tried to cast someone else until circumstances forced him to cast Ford. And if he needed a dwarf, he'd go straight to Creator/WarwickDavis.
* Creator/MelBrooks' movies were known for having Creator/DomDeLuise, Harvey Korman, Dick Van Patten, Creator/GeneWilder, and Creator/MadelineKahn, among others (for instance, Liam Dunn appeared in at least two of Brooks' movies). In ''Film/SilentMovie'', it goes to another level: Brooks plays a director, while two members of his production posse (Creator/DomDeLuise and Creator/MartyFeldman) play members of his ''character's'' production posse.
* Creator/JohnWaters regularly featured Creator/{{Divine|Actor}}, Edith Massey, and Mink Stole in many of his works.
* Nowadays, if there's a movie directed by Creator/JJAbrams, there's secondarily Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman as writers and Creator/MichaelGiacchino as the score composer. He also tried giving major roles or cameos to Greg Grunberg and Simon Pegg.
* Creator/RonHoward often co-produces with BrianGrazer. Also, expect Ron's brother Creator/ClintHoward to show up at some point.
** His score composer is usually either Music/HansZimmer or Music/JamesHorner
* Any movie directed by Creator/AkiraKurosawa in the '50s and '60s could be expected to feature some combination of Creator/ToshiroMifune, Takashi Shimura, Daisuke Kato and Minoru Chiaki. (Tatsuya Nakadai took Mifune's place in Kurosawa's later films after Mifune and Kurosawa had a falling out in the mid '60s.) Part of this was the Creator/{{Toho}} studio system and Japan's relatively small pool of actors after UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, but after a while Kurosawa started writing parts specifically for Mifune and Shimura.
** On the production, side he had Asakazu Nakai as his main cinematographer and Fumio Hayasaka as his composer.
* Don't be surprised if you see Creator/MichaelBiehn or Creator/BillPaxton turn up in a Creator/JamesCameron movie. Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger is not uncommon to star (at least before he became The Governator). You'll probably find Creator/LanceHenriksen or Jenette Goldstein in it and possibly Creator/SigourneyWeaver. The score is most likely either done by Brad Fiedel or Music/JamesHorner. Gale Anne Hurd (Cameron's then-partner) was producer on most of his earlier films.
** James Muro has been Steadicam operator on all of Cameron's films since Film/TheAbyss.
* Creator/JohnCarpenter's famous collaboration with Creator/KurtRussell, in ''Film/EscapeFromNewYork'', ''Film/TheThing1982'' and ''Film/BigTroubleInLittleChina''. He has also repeatedly worked with Creator/AdrienneBarbeau (and was also married to her at one point), Creator/KeithDavid and Creator/DonaldPleasence. In his early days he often collaborated with Creator/DebraHill as writer/producer, Creator/TommyLeeWallace as production designer/editor and Creator/NickCastle as a writer (he also played the original Michael Myers) and all his movies from ''Film/{{Halloween|1978}}'' to ''Film/BigTroubleInLittleChina'' (minus ''Film/StarMan'' and ''Film/{{Christine}}'') were shot by Creator/DeanCundey and from then he's used Creator/GaryBKibbe on all except for ''MemoriesOfAnInvisibleMan''.
* If a movie is directed by Creator/ColinNutley, Creator/HelenaBergstrom (his wife) almost invariably plays the female lead.
* Creator/MartinScorsese and his go-to guys Creator/RobertDeNiro, Creator/HarveyKeitel, Creator/JoePesci, Creator/FrankVincent, and these days, Creator/LeonardoDiCaprio. The editor of all of his movies since ''Film/RagingBull'' is Thelma Schoonmaker, while he has worked with cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto on all his films since ''Film/TheWolfOfWallStreet'' (previously, his main cinematographers were Michael Ballhaus and Robert Richardson), and Robbie Robertson (of Music/TheBand) and Music/HowardShore are among his most frequent musical collaborators. Scorsese was also the last film director to work regularly with Creator/SaulBass.
** Additionally, Creator/PaulSchrader has written three of his films (''Film/TaxiDriver'', ''Film/TheLastTemptationOfChrist'' and ''Film/BringingOutTheDead'') and co-written a fourth (''Film/RagingBull''). Scorsese has also used Creator/BenKingsley, Gary Basaraba and Creator/WillemDafoe a few times.
* Creator/GuyRitchie and his frequent producer (and now a director himself) Creator/MatthewVaughn often use the same group of actors. Creator/DexterFletcher and Creator/JasonFlemyng have appeared in nearly every film either of them have done.
* Creator/GuillermoDelToro movies tend to have Creator/RonPerlman, Luke Goss, and/or Creator/DougJones; ''Film/HellboyIITheGoldenArmy'' featured all three of them in notable roles. The cinematography is usually done by Guillermo Navarro and Marco Beltrami scores most of his films. Also, more times than not his films will feature a cameo by Santiago Segura.
* Music/RobZombie often uses the same actors in many of his films; usually the actors from one film will show up in the next. His wife, Sheri Moon, is in everything he's done.
* Two well-known ones in Hong Kong cinema:
** The "Seven Little Fortunes", a subset of which are the "Three Brothers" - Creator/JackieChan, Creator/Sammo ung (''Martial Law''), and Yuen Biao, and Corey Yuen (martial arts director for ''Film/TheOne'', ''Film/KissOfTheDragon'', ''Film/Cradle2TheGrave'', ''Film/RomeoMustDie'' and others), Yuen Wah and Yuen Qiu (''Film/KungFuHustle'') which started out as a Chinese opera troupe but gradually moved on to movies in the 70s, essentially ''defining'' Hongkong action cinema. (Contrary to popular belief, Yuen Wo Ping [fight director of Film/CrouchingTigerHiddenDragon, Franchise/TheMatrix, and Film/KillBill ] was not a member of the Seven Little Fortunes. Yuen is his real surname, the Seven Little Fortunes just adopted it in honor of their teacher whose surname is Yuen.)
** They have a SpiritualSuccessor in a new "Brat Pack" of sorts, a stable of young talents including Edison Chen, Shawn Yue, Stephen Fung, Nicholas Tse, Cecilia Chung, Joey Yung, Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi (the last two even record albums under the name ''Twins''). Sadly these kids are better known nowadays for Edison's scandal, wherein the people repairing his laptop went the extra mile to upload his PornStash on the internet - which included nude pics of some of the ladies.
* Creator/EdWood and his posse: Dolores Fuller, Tor Johnson, Creator/BelaLugosi, The Amazing Criswell, Bunny Breckinridge, Conrad Brooks, etc.
* Creator/KennethBranagh films are likely to feature appearances by Creator/BrianBlessed, Creator/RichardBriers, Geraldine [=MacEwan=], Michael Maloney, Gerard Horan, Jimmy Yuill, and sometimes Creator/DerekJacobi. Before Branagh and Creator/EmmaThompson divorced in 1995, she also played major roles in most of his films. Patrick Doyle usually does the music.
** For ''Film/{{Cinderella 2015}}'', Sir Creator/DerekJacobi, Creator/StellanSkarsgard and Creator/HelenaBonhamCarter return to film with Branagh, and Patrick Doyle returns to provide the score.
* Creator/SpikeLee has a particularly large one. Members of it include his sister, and are all listed on his page on Wiki/TheOtherWiki. He also reuses crew members, such as cinematographer Ernest Dickerson.
* The work of the "Black Pack" from the late 80's and mid 90's (Creator/EddieMurphy, Robert Townsend, Creator/ArsenioHall, Paul Mooney and Keenen Ivory Wayans).
* All of Creator/DavidCronenberg's films since ''Film/TheBrood'' (except for ''Film/TheDeadZone'') are scored by Music/HowardShore and he has worked with cinematographer Peter Suschitzky on all of his films since ''Film/DeadRingers'' (before that, his go to guy was Mark Irwin). Robert Silverman often shows up in a smaller role. Creator/ViggoMortensen and Creator/JeremyIrons are also frequent collaborators with him. Carol Spier started off as art director on three of his early films, then became production designer from ''Film/TheDeadZone'' on. His sister Denise has been his costume designer since ''Film/TheFly1986''.
* ''Series/SaturdayNightLive'' alumni tend to work together a lot, usually members of the same cast, however it has been cross-generational as well.
** Creator/BillMurray, and Creator/ChevyChase in ''Film/{{Caddyshack}}''. (The only time they've been in the same thing outside of ''SNL''.)
** Murray and Creator/DanAykroyd in ''Film/{{Ghostbusters 1984}}'' which was also originally to star Creator/JohnBelushi and Creator/EddieMurphy as well.
** Aykroyd and Murphy in ''Film/TradingPlaces''.
** Belushi and Aykroyd in ''Film/NineteenFortyOne'', ''Film/TheBluesBrothers'' and ''Film/{{Neighbours}}''.
** Aykroyd and Chase in ''Film/SpiesLikeUs'', ''Film/CaddyshackII'', ''Film/NothingButTrouble'' and the ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'' episode "[[Recap/FamilyGuyS8E3SpiesReminiscentOfUs Spies Reminiscent of Us]]".
** Murphy and Creator/MikeMyers in ''WesternAnimation/{{Shrek}}''.
** Creator/TinaFey and Creator/AmyPoehler turn up together a lot.
*** Their respective {{Sitcom}}s, ''Series/ThirtyRock'' and ''Series/ParksAndRecreation'', have featured their former ''[=SNL=]'' colleagues as {{Special Guest}}s. Will Forte and Fred Armisen have appeared on both shows. Ironically, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have not themselves appeared on each other's shows.
*** While Fey has not appeared on ''Series/ParksAndRecreation'', Amy Poehler has since appeared on a live episode of ''Series/ThirtyRock'' as a young Liz Lemon.
** Creator/DennisMiller has also been known to collaborate with his ''SNL'' co-stars. [=MacDonald=] appeared frequently on ''Dennis Miller Live'' and his current radio show.
* Creator/ChristopherNolan has a noticeable tendency to cast the same actors in different films. Creator/MichaelCaine has appeared in his last 5 films. Creator/ChristianBale, Creator/CillianMurphy, and Creator/KenWatanabe have also had recurring roles. Creator/TomHardy, Creator/MarionCotillard, and Creator/JosephGordonLevitt appear to be the newest members; after ''Film/{{Inception}}'', all three have roles in ''Film/TheDarkKnightRises.'' In ''Film/{{Dunkirk}}'', Creator/TomHardy and Creator/CillianMurphy appear again. As does Creator/MichaelCaine in a voice cameo. Creator/AnneHathaway appears in ''Film/TheDarkKnightRises'' and ''Film/{{Interstellar}}''.
** He does screenwriting with his brother Jonathan, his wife Emma Thomas will usually be producing, Wally Pfister will be doing cinematography (and after Pfister shifting to direction, this post is taken up by Hoyte van Hoytema), Nathan Crowley handles production design, Lee Smith will be editing, either David Julyan or Music/HansZimmer will be writing the score, and Chris Corbould will be on special effects.
* Whenever Creator/TonyScott made a movie, Creator/DenzelWashington wouldn't be far behind. See ''Film/CrimsonTide'', ''Film/ManOnFire'', ''Film/DejaVu2006'', ''Film/TheTakingOfPelhamOneTwoThree'', and Scott's final film ''Film/{{Unstoppable}}''. (All but the first also had music by Harry Gregson-Williams.) Denzel also starred in ''Film/AmericanGangster'', made by Tony's brother Creator/RidleyScott.
* Creator/GarryMarshall (''Film/PrettyWoman'', ''Film/ThePrincessDiaries'') always included a role for Creator/HectorElizondo.
* Ever since ''Film/{{Gladiator}}'', Creator/RidleyScott and Creator/RussellCrowe frequently reunite. In addition to Crowe, Scott has also worked with Costume designer Janty Yates, production designer Arthur Max, editors Pietro Scalia and Doby Dorn and cinematographer John Mathieson (though, post-''Film/{{Prometheus}}'', Scott has been working with Dariusz Wolski on projects like ''Film/TheCounselor'' and ''Film/ExodusGodsAndKings''). Common composers for him also include Music/JerryGoldsmith, Music/HansZimmer and Marc Streitenfeld.
* If Creator/RobertAltman's directed a movie, Shelley Duvall, Creator/LilyTomlin and/or Creator/DianeLane can't be too far behind. Creator/ElliottGould appears often as well.
* Ditto Hal Needham (''Film/SmokeyAndTheBandit'') and Creator/BurtReynolds, Creator/DomDeLuise and/or Jerry Reed.
* BBS Productions in the late 60s and early 70s. For every film made by the company (with the exception of ''Film/TheLastPictureShow''), the producer, director, writer and lead actor jobs were always filled by some combination of Creator/BobRafelson, Creator/JackNicholson, Creator/DennisHopper and Creator/HenryJaglom.
* Creator/IngmarBergman frequently worked with the "repertory company" of Creator/MaxVonSydow, Creator/BibiAndersson, Creator/HarrietAndersson, Creator/GunnelLindblom, Creator/IngridThulin, Creator/LivUllmann, Creator/GunnarBjornstrand, Creator/ErlandJosephson and others, and almost always worked with cinematographer Creator/SvenNykvist.
* Creator/RainerWernerFassbinder frequently worked with the same actors and production crew. Most of the ''Neuer Deutscher Film'' directors did it too.
* Every Creator/MatthewVaughn movie is produced and possibly co-written by Jane Goldman, probably has Dexter Fletcher and Creator/JasonFlemyng, and until ''Film/XMenFirstClass'', a score by Ilan Eshkeri. There's a huge list of regular collaborators (including Creator/GuyRitchie and Creator/BradPitt) at [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Vaughn#Frequent_collaborators the other wiki]]
* Director Creator/JamesMangold almost always has Cathy Konrad as producer, Phedon Papamichael as cinematographer and Arianne Phillips as costume designer. But he never used the same composer twice until ''Film/TheWolverine'' (which reunites him with Marco Beltrami after ''Film/ThreeToYuma2007'').
* In the early 1990's, it wasn't uncommon to see a Creator/RogerCorman production with Phedon Papamichael, Creator/JanuszKaminski, Mauro Fiore and Wally Pfister all in the camera crew (usually with Papamichael as the main cinematographer). All four have gone on to respectable careers in the cinematography field.
* Lucky [=McKee=] usually seems to have Angela Bettis as one of his actors (and when Bettis made her directorial debut, [=McKee=] was the lead actor).
* Creator/JustinLin almost always has Creator/SungKang in one of his films (this would likely explain why Kang is the only actor from ''Film/TheFastAndTheFuriousTokyoDrift'' to appear in future installments).
* Virtually every movie that Creator/DavidLean ever directed featured Creator/AlecGuinness in a key secondary role (Herbert Pocket in ''Film/{{Great Expectations|1946}}'', Fagin in ''Literature/OliverTwist'', Emir Feisal in ''Film/LawrenceOfArabia'' and quite a few others), with Guinness only starring in ''Film/TheBridgeOnTheRiverKwai''. The two men had a falling out eventually and the next movie Lean made, in which he deliberately did not cast Guinness, was his first critical and financial failure since he began working with Guinness, and so for the rest of Lean's life Guinness always had a role in Lean's films, albeit increasingly smaller ones. The two men never became friends again but Lean still considered Guinness his 'good luck charm.'
** With five Lean films to his credit, Creator/JohnMills rivals Guinness as Lean's go-to actor. But Lean's earlier films generally feature many recurring actors: Celia Johnson, Kay Walsh (Mrs. Creator/DavidLean for a time), Robert Newton, Stanley Holloway, Francis L. Sullivan, Joyce Carrey, Creator/TrevorHoward. Ann Todd also did three films with Lean during their brief marriage.
* Quite a few movies that Creator/TylerPerry directs and/or produces will have himself in a lead role, and also will have Tasha Smith, David Mann and Tamela Mann (the latter two are husband and wife).
* Before he left the ChurchOfHappyology in 2010, Paul Haggis usually had Michael Peña as one of his actors and Mark Isham as his composer (the latter two are active members).
* Along with Creator/FrankCapra and Creator/JohnFord, the classic Hollywood director who had the most identifiable stock company was Creator/PrestonSturges. Such actors as Eric Blore, Al Bridge, Jimmy Conlin, Robert Grieg, Raymond Washburn, and most famously of all, William Demarest, appeared in most if not all of the movies Sturges directed for Paramount. He also directed Joel [=McRea=] in three films and Eddie Bracken in two.
* Creator/GuyRitchie's ''[[Film/SherlockHolmes2009 Sherlock Holmes]]'' movies are an attempt to enforce this trope. Around the time ''[[Film/SherlockHolmesAGameOfShadows Game of Shadows]]'' came out, interviews with the director and the cast had them quoted saying they wanted to keep largely the same cast and crew for each movie in the series.
* Creator/JoeWright has directed Creator/KeiraKnightley in 3 out the 6 films he's made (''Film/PrideAndPrejudice2005'', ''Film/{{Atonement}}'' and ''Film/AnnaKarenina'') and in a commercial for Chanel's 'Coco Mademoiselle' perfume. Behind the scenes, Dario_Marianelli has done the soundtrack for 4 out of 6 (''Pride and Prejudice'', ''Film/TheSoloist'', ''Atonement'' and ''Anna Karenina''); Jacqueline Durran was costume designer on the same 4; Seamus [=McGarvey=] was cinematographer for ''Atonement'', ''The Soloist'', ''Anna Karenina'' and ''Film/{{Pan}}'' and Sarah Greenwood was production designer on all six.
* Creator/JoeDante films all notably had an appearance by actor Creator/DickMiller, with Creator/KevinMcCarthy and Creator/RobertPicardo appearing in several as well. Music/JerryGoldsmith scored every single Dante film from 1983 onwards up until his death.
* Music/JerryGoldsmith
** He had a very fruitful collaboration with director Franklin J. Schaffner (they worked together on 7 films, including ''Film/TheStripper'', ''Film/PlanetOfTheApes1968'', ''Film/{{Patton}}'', ''Film/{{Papillon}}'', ''Film/IslandsInTheStream'', ''Film/TheBoysfromBrazil'' and ''Film/{{Lionheart|1987}}''.) Schaffner also twice-worked with actors Creator/CharltonHeston and Creator/MauriceEvans (''Film/{{The War Lord|1965}}''; ''Film/PlanetOfTheApes1968''), George C. Scott (''Film/{{Patton}}''; ''Islands in the Stream'') and Laurence Olivier (''Film/NicholasAndAlexandra''; ''Film/TheBoysfromBrazil'') respectively. He also worked with cinematographer Fred J. Koenekamp and film editor Robert Swink on 5 of his films separately, and Stanley O'Toole helped produced 3 of his films.
** He also worked with the talented filmmaker Creator/MichaelCrichton for whom Goldsmith also had a beautiful collaboration with. They first worked together in ''Literature/{{Coma}}'' and then worked together on such films as ''Literature/TheGreatTrainRobbery'', ''Film/{{Runaway}}'' and ''Literature/TheThirteenthWarrior'' (whom Crichton rejected Graeme Revell's score and chose Goldsmith). Goldsmith also scored ''Literature/{{Congo}}'' which Crichton did not directed but was based on his best-selling novel. One of Goldsmith's last scores was for an adaptation of Crichton's novel, ''Literature/{{Timeline}}'' which saw Goldsmith reunited with his Oscar-winning scored film ''Film/TheOmen1976'' director Creator/RichardDonner but his failing health prevented him from finishing the score and instead was sadly replaced by Music/BrianTyler.
* Creator/SamPeckinpah had a "stock company" to rival Creator/JohnFord: Creator/WarrenOates, Creator/BenJohnson, Creator/JamesCoburn, Creator/KrisKristofferson, Creator/StrotherMartin, Creator/LQJones, Creator/RGArmstrong, Creator/JohnDavisChandler, Creator/DavidWarner, Creator/SlimPickens, Creator/CassieYates, Creator/AuroraClavell to name the most frequently occurring. He also frequently worked with cinematographer Creator/LucienBallard and composer Music/JerryFielding.
* Creator/DavidORussell has begun to form a production posse so far consisting of Creator/MarkWahlberg, Creator/JenniferLawrence, Creator/ChristianBale, Creator/AmyAdams, Bradley Cooper and Creator/RobertDeNiro.
-->'''[[http://dlisted.com/2016/01/20/oscar-bait-alert-jennifer-lawrence-is-going-to-play-fidel-castros-piece-in-a-movie/ Michael K.]]''': [on Fidel Castro biopic] A director hasn’t signed on yet, but, bitch, please, a dried turnip could tell you who’s going to direct this. It’s going to be David O. Russell. Bradley Cooper is going to play Fidel Castro, Robert [=DeNiro=] is going play the Venezuelan dictator and Marky Mark is going to play JFK.
* Any time Creator/BobHope and Creator/BingCrosby would [[Film/RoadTo hit the Road]], Dorothy Lamour would invariably be along for the ride. Subsequent Bob Hope movies tended to feature Bing Crosby in a cameo, sometimes stealing the girl away from Bob at the last minute. Jerry Colonna appeared in some of the ''Film/RoadTo'' movies, as well as some other Bob Hope projects. Lampshaded in the theme from ''Film/RoadToMorocco'':
-->Where they're going, why we're going, how can we be sure?\\
I'll lay you eight to five that we'll meet Dorothy Lamour.
* Ever since he took up filmmaking, Creator/BobcatGoldthwait's had one of these. He's stated in interviews he mostly casts his friends. This includes With the exception of Creator/RobinWilliams, most of them are only slightly famous. This includes Geoff Pierson, Creator/TomKenny, Jill Talley, [[Series/TheAdventuresOfPeteAndPete Toby]] [[WesternAnimation/KingOfTheHill Huss]], author Dan Spencer, Morgan Murphy, Joel Murray, Tony V, Alexie Gilmore and Bryce Johnson among others. Some are people he's worked with when he was acting in movies and television (Murray from ''Film/OneCrazySummer'', Pierson from ''Series/UnhappilyEverAfter'').
* Black British director Creator/SteveMcQueenDirector has directed three films so far. All of them starred Creator/MichaelFassbender and were edited by Joe Walker. The cinematographer for all three was Sean Bobbit.
* Director Jeff Nichols has worked with Creator/MichaelShannon in all of his films. Also actor Ray [=McKinnon=] appears in his last two fims.
* Director Ryuhei Kitamura has worked together with actors Tak Sakaguchi and Hideo Sakaki in four movies, ''Film/{{Versus}}'', ''Alive'', ''Aragami'', and ''Film/GodzillaFinalWars''.
* Four movies directed by Creator/JohnLandis have a bit part for singer-songwriter Stephen "Charming Guy" Bishop, though ''Film/AnimalHouse'' is the only one with any sort of musical contribution by him.
* Creator/BryanSinger has both cinematographer Newton Thomas Siegel and editor\composer John Ottman (though Ottman was forced out of ''Film/XMen1'' for scheduling conflicts), while writers Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty helped him in both the ''X-Men'' sequels and ''Film/SupermanReturns''.
* When Creator/BryanSinger left the production of ''Film/XMenTheLastStand'' he took his posse to ''Film/SupermanReturns'', but Creator/BrettRatner brought two of his own collaborators to replace them - cinematographer Dante Spinotti and editor Mark Helfrich - and also actor Ken Leung as a spiked mutant.
* Excluding a rotating cast of underwear models, Creator/DavidDecoteau mainly uses former teen and child actors from the 60's and 70's and the occasional actor from some of his earlier works. These include [[Series/SigmundAndTheSeaMonsters Johnny Whitaker]], [[Film/{{Meatballs}} Kristine DeBell]], [[Series/PowerRangersTimeForce Jason Faunt]], and Creator/EricRoberts.
* Director Creator/RobertWise and producer Saul Chaplin collaborated on three movie musicals during TheSixties. People who worked with the duo on a movie musical two times each include musical director Irwin Kostal, screenwriter Ernest Lehman (who wrote four Wise-directed pictures in total), and actress Creator/JulieAndrews (whose association with Kostal dated back to the 1962 Carnegie Hall TV special she did with Creator/CarolBurnett).
* Quite a few Creator/PureFlixEntertainment productions tend to have many of the same personnel; usually co-founder David A.R. White (often alongside wife [[RealLifeRelative Andrea Logan White]]) alongside one of the following: Creator/EricRoberts; Creator/StaciKeanan, [[Series/HerculesTheLegendaryJourneys Kevin]] [[Film/GodsNotDead Sorbo]]; Bruce Marchiano (if there is an appearance of UsefulNotes/{{Jesus}}); Wrestling/{{Sting}} and/or Robert Miano.
* Prolific British director Creator/MichaelWinner had several professional partnerships:
** He made six movies starring Creator/OliverReed
** He made six movies starring Creator/CharlesBronson, including ''Film/DeathWish''. Bronson was once angered when a critic dismissed ''Film/TheStoneKiller'' as "just another Michael Winner-Charles Bronson picture"
* Outside of the ''Film/CarryOn'' movies, recurring actors that appear in it often show up in any media that was produced by Creator/PeterRogers and directed by Creator/GeraldThomas. For example, recurring actor Creator/SidJames was one of the biggest stars in a sitcom called ''Bless This House'', and when TheMovie of the series was released, it was produced by Peter Rogers and directed by Gerald Thomas and had ''Carry On'' regulars Creator/PeterButterworth and Creator/TerryScott as Sid's friend and Sid's new next-door neighbour.
* The Film/JamesBond films had plenty of it. Cast-wise, Creator/DesmondLlewelyn played Q alongside every 007 until Brosnan, Creator/LoisMaxwell was Moneypenny for 14 movies, and M had just four actors in 23 movies (he's absent from ''Film/ForYourEyesOnly'' as Bernard Lee had died). In the first 16 movies, only 6 directors worked (and the one who helmed [[Film/OnHerMajestysSecretService only one movie]] had been editor in the previous 5; not to mention the editor of ''that'' movie cutting two others before helming all 1980s Bonds), Maurice Binder did the credits for all but 2 (and those were by the same guy), Richard Maibaum wrote 13 movies, Music/JohnBarry orchestrated the music in ''Film/DrNo'' and composed the scores of 11 others, Creator/KenAdam designed 6 movies and Syd Cain 4 (with the latter even returning for ''Film/GoldenEye''), stuntman Bob Simmons - who was famously the first BondGunBarrel - was in 9 movies, stuntman and stunt coordinator Creator/RemyJulienne worked on six films; cameraman/cinematographer Alec Mills was in 9... while ''[=GoldenEye=]'' marked a paradigm shift - for starters, only Creator/MartinCampbell and Creator/SamMendes did multiple movies - it introduced a roulette of writers (Bruce Feirstein wrote that and the two follow-ups, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade worked in all since ''Film/TheWorldIsNotEnough'', Paul Haggis and John Logan had two credits apiece in the Creator/DanielCraig era), and Binder protége Daniel Kleinman, who did the credits for all but ''Film/QuantumOfSolace''. Also, David Arnold wrote the music for all movies between ''Film/TomorrowNeverDies'' and ''Quantum of Solace''.
* Creator/SamMendes has collaborated with composer Music/ThomasNewman in every single film he's directed (except ''Film/AwayWeGo'') and he has worked with Creator/DanielCraig not only in the ''Film/JamesBond'' films (''Film/{{Skyfall}}'' & ''Film/{{Spectre}}''), but they first worked together in ''Film/RoadToPerdition''. Mendes had worked with veteran cinematographer Conrad L. Hall in ''Film/AmericanBeauty'' & ''Film/RoadToPerdition'' (which proved to be Hall's last projects). Mendes has also twice worked with Creator/ChrisCooper, Creator/AllisonJanney, Creator/JohnKrasinski, Creator/NaomieHarris, Creator/RalphFiennes, & editor Tariq Anwar (father of Creator/GabrielleAnwar); while he worked with cinematographer Roger Deakins on three of his films.
* Every Creator/JamesGunn-directed movie so far features Creator/NathanFillion, Creator/MichaelRooker, and Gregg Henry in the cast, and Tyler Bates composing the score. His brother Sean Gunn also joined this posse, starting with ''Film/{{Super}}''.
* Creator/MichaelBJordan plays a role in every movie Creator/RyanCoogler directs. Behind the camera, Ryan Coogler has also worked with the same composer (Ludwig Göransson) and production designer (Hannah Beachler) on all three of his movies.
* After ''Series/BandOfBrothers'', many of the cast members would write and star in their own movies. Frank John Hughes and Creator/RossMcCall are screenwriters themselves - and the films will usually feature Rick Gomez, Creator/JamesMadio, Creator/RichardSpeightJr and occasionally Ron Livingston.
* A variation with Creator/ShaileneWoodley. While only an actress, she does frequently convince her friends to star in films with her. For example she became good friends with Creator/MilesTeller in ''Film/TheSpectacularNow'' and convinced him to star with her in the ''{{Literature/Divergent}}'' film franchise. She recommended her ''Divergent'' co-star Ansel Elgort for the lead in her next film ''Literature/TheFaultInOurStars'' too.
* Dito Montiel has collaborated with Creator/ChanningTatum on three films - ''Fighting'', ''The Son of No One'' and ''Film/AGuideToRecognizingYourSaints''.
* Sean S. Cunningham, the producer-director most famous for creating ''Franchise/FridayThe13th'', tended to come back to working with the same crew members pretty often: writer Victor Miller, composer Harry Manfredini, actor Ronn Carroll, and Steve Miner in a variety of roles (director, producer, writer, or a combination of the above, depending on the movie). He also worked a lot with Creator/WesCraven in his younger years.
* Watch any Creator/ClintEastwood film from the 70s or 80s and there's a good chance Geoffrey Lewis or Sondra Locke (Eastwood's then long-term partner) will show up. Other Eastwood stalwarts from that era included William O'Connell, Dan Vadis, John Quade, Bill [=McKinney=] and Woodrow Parfrey. Albert Popwell featured in five Eastwood films, including four of the ''Film/DirtyHarry'' movies (playing a [[CastingGag different character]] each time). Eastwood appeared in three films with another of his partners, Frances Fisher. Buddy van Horn, Eastwood's stunt double and stunt co-ordinator for forty years, directed three films which starred Eastwood. More recently, Clint's go-to actors have included Creator/MorganFreeman and Creator/LauraLinney. On the other side of the camera, Tom Stern has been cinematographer on almost all of Eastwood's films for the past 15 years, while producer Robert Lorenz and editor Joel Cox are also long-time collaborators.
* Creator/ClintEastwood as an actor is a part of Creator/SergioLeone and Creator/DonSiegel's posses, appearing in three films directed by Leone and five directed by Siegel. Siegel in turn had a cameo role in the Eastwood-directed ''Film/PlayMistyForMe''.
* Creator/PaulVerhoeven: In his English language films, expect to see any of Creator/MichaelIronside, Creator/SharonStone, Creator/RonnyCox, Marshall Bell and Creator/DeanNorris. Meanwhile in his Dutch films Creator/RutgerHauer was his go-to star for many years. Creator/JeroenKrabbe and Dolf De Vries are also regulars.
* Derrick J Wyatt and Marty Isenberg occasionally form a very nerdy and [[PanderingToTheBase pander]]-heavy duo.
* Creator/DavidLynch has a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_frequent_David_Lynch_collaborators large list of frequent collaborators]] across his films, most notably lead actors Creator/KyleMacLachlan and Creator/LauraDern as well as Lynch's personal friend Jack Nance. Among his behind-the-scenes collaborators, Angelo Badalamenti has scored virtually all of his projects since ''Film/BlueVelvet''.
* Owing to the remote location of New Zealand, Creator/PeterJackson had to assemble a Production Posse of his own just to get any of his ambitious films made.
** Nearly the entire crew of his first feature, ''Film/BadTaste'', form the nucleus of Jackson's later collaborative team, such as Jamie Selkirk (Editor), Costa Botes (Documentarian), and Fran Walsh (Co-writer & Jackson's wife).
** With ''Film/MeetTheFeebles'', the posse expanded by creating a professional visual effects department, Weta Workshop, eventually led by Production Designer Richard Taylor. Stephen Sinclair co-writes this one with Jackson, and the two would go on to share a writing credit for ''Film/{{Braindead}}'' and ''[[Film/TheLordOfTheRings The Two Towers]]''.
** Kiwi Actor Jed Brophy first appeared in Jackson's ''Film/{{Braindead}}'' aka ''Dead Alive'' in 1992, and would appear as a minor character in every movie of Jackson's afterwards until being promoted to a starring role as Nori the Dwarf in [[Film/TheHobbit The ''Hobbit'' Trilogy]]. Storyboard Artist Christian Rivers becomes a protege of Jackson's, eventually going on to direct [[Film/MortalEngines feature films of his own which Jackson produced]].
** ''Film/HeavenlyCreatures'' brought in production designer Grant Major, producer/director Carolynne Cunningham, & costumer Ngila Dickson.
** ''Film/TheFrighteners'' necessitated a lot of advanced computer hardware, and therefore Weta Digital spun-off from the Workshop and would be essential in creating Jackson's later blockbusters. Art Director Dan Hennah and production manager Rick Porras join the posse and would work on Jackson's next big project.
** ''Film/TheLordOfTheRings'' brought in Stephen Sinclair's partner, Phillipa Boyens, as co-writer on all three films. Creator/AndySerkis and Jackson would go on to collaborate in several other Mo-Cap and Performance Capture Projects in the future. Cinematographer Andrew Lesnie would film every single one of Jackson's future feature films until his death in 2015 right after the ''Hobbit'' wrapped.
* Creator/AlfredHitchcock frequently worked with actors multiple times, most notably Creator/CaryGrant (4 times), Creator/JamesStewart (4 times), Creator/GraceKelly (3 times), and Creator/IngridBergman (3 times). In addition, Music/BernardHermann was the composer for 8 of his films (and was the sound consultant for a 9th), Robert Burks was the cinematographer for 12, George Tomasini was the editor for 9, and Edith Head was the costume designer for 7. Ben Hecht also worked as a writer on 7 of Hitchcock's films in some capacity.
* All of Creator/PedroAlmodovar's films since 1986 have been produced by his brother Agustín, along with Esther García. José Salcedo edited all his films between 1980 and his 2017 death, and his regular composer since ''La Flor de Mi Secreto'' has been Alberto Iglesias (Bernardo Bonezzi was his go-to guy for his earlier films). In front of the camera, expect to see any of Creator/AntonioBanderas, Creator/PenelopeCruz, Chus Lampreave, Carmen Maura, Cecilia Roth, and Rossy de Palma.
* Actor, martial artist, and stuntman Marko Zaror has starred in four films (Kiltro, Mirageman, Mandrill, and Redentor) by Chilean director [[https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1104993/?ref_=tt_ov_dr Ernesto Díaz Espinoza]] all of which are action / superhero films with numerous well-choreographed fight scenes.
* Indie director Tom [=DiCillo=] gave Creator/CatherineKeener her first starring role in ''Film/JohnnySuede'' and then gave her prominent roles in his next three films. He also has cast Creator/SteveBuscemi and Creator/DermotMulroney in multiple films.
* Creator/DavidFincher has worked with cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth on four films, starting with ''FightClub''. Camera operator Conrad Hall Jr. worked on both ''Film/Se7en'' and Fight Club before becoming cinematographer on ''Film/PanicRoom''; in a similar vein, gaffer(chief lighting technician) Claudio Miranda worked on ''The Game'' and Fight Club before being cinematographer on ''Film/TheCuriousCaseofBenjaminButton.'' Costume designer Michael Kaplan, production designer Arthur Max, editor James Haygood, and composer Music/HowardShore are also frequent Fincher collaborators, as are actors Creator/BradPitt, Creator/JaredLeto, Creator/RichmondArquette, and Holt [=McCallany=].
* Creator/StevenSpielberg has worked with cinematographer Janusz Kaminski, editor Michael Khan, and composer Music/JohnWilliams on virtually all his films since the early 1990s.
* Creator/RobertZemeckis has made at least four films with cinematographer Don Burgess and composer Music/AlanSilvestri.
* Creator/MichaelMann and cinematographer Dante Spinotti have made five movies together and camera operator Gary Jay has worked with both men on most pictures they have made--both jointly ''and'' separately.
* Creator/OliverStone worked with cinematographer Robert Richardson on virtually all of his directorial projects up until ''Film/UTurn''. The two men frequently had Victor Kempster as production designer. However, the trio has not collaborated on a film since the late 1990s. Stone has also worked with most of his editors more than once.

* Voice acting in general is prone to this. While voice actors are generally freelancers, a lot of studios and casting directors tend to have their own little talent pool, though there is some overlap when it comes to popular and in-demand talent. For instance, while all three studios use Los Angeles-based actors, it's easy to distinguish a dub by Creator/NewGenerationPictures from one by Creator/BangZoomEntertainment or PCB Productions.
* Creator/SethMacFarlane likes to bring in Creator/AmandaSeyfried, Creator/GiovanniRibisi, Creator/LiamNeeson and others in his shows and films.
* Actors in Creator/JossWhedon projects have a tendency to reappear in his future projects. There's a handy table on [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joss_Whedon#Frequent_casting Whedon's page]] on Wiki/TheOtherWiki showing which of his posse appeared in which of his projects.
** A crossover between ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'' and ''Series/{{Angel}}'' was to be expected, since they exist in the same universe. But after ''Series/{{Firefly}}'' was cancelled, no fewer than three of the main cast (Creator/NathanFillion, Creator/AdamBaldwin, and Creator/GinaTorres) were given bit-parts in ''Buffy'' or ''Angel''. Creator/SummerGlau was another crossover, but she was on ''Angel'' first and then cast on ''Firefly''.
** Then when ''Series/{{Dollhouse}}'' hit the air it featured two of them (Creator/AlanTudyk and Creator/SummerGlau again) in larger roles, along with ex-Angel actor Creator/AmyAcker, ex-Buffy/Angel actor Creator/AlexisDenisof, and an ex-Buffy/Angel actor in the lead (Creator/ElizaDushku). Creator/FeliciaDay had a bit part in both ''Buffy'' and ''Dollhouse''; Creator/ChristinaHendricks had bit parts in both ''Angel'' and ''Firefly''. Meanwhile, ''WebVideo/DoctorHorriblesSingAlongBlog'' starred both Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day.
** And to keep the pattern going, Whedon's feature film ''Film/TheCabinInTheWoods'' stars Amy Acker (again) and Creator/FranKranz (from Dollhouse) and features Creator/TomLenk (from ''Buffy''), while Alexis Denisof (again) and Creator/EnverGjokaj (from Dollhouse) show up in ''Film/{{The Avengers|2012}}''. Creator/JeremyRenner (Hawkeye in ''Avengers'') previously had a bit part in ''Angel'', and Chris Hemsworth (Thor in ''Avengers'') was one of the leads in ''Cabin''.
** Besides Dushku, Glau and Denisof, there are four less-well-known actors (Jonathan Woodward, Jeff Ricketts, Bob Fimiani, Carlos Jacott) who have appeared in three of Whedon's four TV shows.
** This has now started to carry over to shows featuring former alumni who had worked on ''Buffy''/''Angel'', as an episode of ''Grimm'' produced by David Greenwalt had Amy Acker (again!) as a guest star and will have Alexis Denisof as a recurring character. And Creator/TimMinear's short lived show ''Drive'' on FOX starred Nathan Fillion.
** In the season 1 DVD of ''Dollhouse'', there's a whole behind the scenes look at all the cast and crew who return to work with Joss for the show. He's got a production posse that doesn't just act, but also write, produce, shoot, etc.
** In one further unusual take on this trope, an episode of ''Dollhouse'' was directed by John Cassaday, the artist from Whedon's run on ''Comicbook/AstonishingXMen''.
** Actors from Joss productions often appear together even without Joss himself being on scene. In ''Castle'', star Nathan Fillion has often appeared opposite Firefly alums, culminating in "Headhunters", where even the network was promoting the Adam Baldwin/Nathan Fillion reunion. Less well-known is the fact that the Season 2 executive producer was Jose Molina... himself a Buffy and Firefly alum.
** ''Film/MuchAdoAboutNothing2012'' marks the reunion for so many Joss alums that it's pointless to count them. And the movie was filmed ''at Joss's house''.
*** From ''Angel'', Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker play love interests Benedick and Beatrice (no doubt delighting the fans who wished to see them together on the show).
*** From ''Buffy'', Tom Lenk appears as Verges. Riki Lindhome was a guest on the show before appearing in ''Much Ado'' as Conrade. Also, Creator/AnthonyHead was the original choice to play Leonato.
*** Coming from ''Firefly'' are Nathan Fillion as Dogberry and Sean Maher as Don John.
*** ''Dollhouse'' had Fran Kranz, who plays Claudio here, and Creator/ReedDiamond, who plays Don Pedro.
*** ''The Avengers'' had Creator/AshleyJohnson and Creator/ClarkGregg, who ended up taking the part of Leonato after Head dropped out.
** The pilot episode of ''Series/AgentsOfSHIELD'' had appearances by J. August Richards (Gunn from ''Angel'') and Ron Glass (Shepherd Book from ''Firefly''); both played the same characters in later episodes of the season. Late in the first season, Amy Acker (YET AGAIN) guest starred as "The Cellist", a person Coulson referred to in ''The Avengers''.
** Even the single episode of ''Series/{{Glee}}'' he directed has this, as he worked with Creator/{{Neil Patrick|Harris}} [[WebVideo/DoctorHorriblesSingAlongBlog Harris]] in that one.
* Creator/ToeiCompany reuses a lot of the same actors for their {{Tokusatsu}} productions, though few end up taking more than one starring role. Plenty who have starred in one series, however may appear in a minor role in another or vice versa. This usually is regulated to their two ongoing series, ''Franchise/KamenRider'' and ''Franchise/SuperSentai''. Notable Toei regulars include Creator/HiroshiMiyauchi, Creator/KenjiOhba, Creator/MachikoSoga, and ThemeTune vocalist Masato Shimon.
* Where Creator/TimBurton is, Music/DannyElfman is sure to follow, and Creator/JohnnyDepp will probably not be far behind. Softer members of the posse include current significant other (Lisa Marie and Creator/HelenaBonhamCarter) and Creator/PaulReubens. Creator/ChristopherLee or Creator/ChristopherWalken (or both) could also feature in there. Burton likes his horror vets. Frequently making appearances have been Creator/JeffreyJones, Creator/CatherineOHara, Creator/WinonaRyder, Glenn Shadix and Creator/MichaelGough (who Burton twice pulled out of retirement). In the early days, Creator/MichaelKeaton filled the role that Depp fills now, with starring turns in ''Film/Batman1989'' and ''Film/{{Beetlejuice}}''. Early Burton films also had a tendency to feature Creator/DannyDeVito, Jan Hooks and Creator/JackNicholson. One ''Website/CollegeHumor'' sketch [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFzLRP8e4vE mocked this accordingly]]:
-->'''Tim Burton:''' Get me Johnny Depp and my wife on the phone!
-->'''Casting Agent''': I can't ever ''not'' do that.
-->''[Casting agent flips open a phone with two giant buttons labeled "Johnny Depp" and "Helena Bonham-Carter"]''
** Helena lampshaded this by posting [[https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=659024907452123&set=a.193817587306193.47504.154639504557335&type=1 this picture]] on her Facebook page.
* Any given ''Franchise/StarTrek'' TV series is likely to share a significant portion of its crew with any other ''Star Trek'' series. ''Trek'' directors are especially likely to have started out as ''Trek'' actors. They also have a pool of actors that they like to pull from for recurring or one-shot characters, such that there are five actors who have played seven or more different ''Trek'' characters: [[http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Vaughn_Armstrong Vaughn Armstrong]] (12 characters! 13, if you include that MirrorUniverse character), [[http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Thomas_Kopache Thomas Kopache]] (7), [[http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Jeffrey_Combs Jeffrey Combs]] (9), [[http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/J._G._Hertzler J.G. Hertzler]] (8), and [[http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Randy_Oglesby Randy Oglesby]] (7). [[http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Joseph_Ruskin Joseph Ruskin's]] only got six, but he's got the distinction of having appeared in five ''Star Trek''s.
** Relatedly, a pizza trophy for the late Creator/MajelBarrett, the First Lady of ''Star Trek'', who was involved in ''every version of the franchise'' from its inception in 1966 to her passing in 2009: TOS Nurse Chapel and pilot episode's Number One; TAS Lt. M'ress; TNG & [=DS9=] Lwaxana Troi; TNG, [=DS9=], VOY, ENT, ''and'' [=ST2K9=] Computer Voice. (This leaves off ''Series/StarTrekDiscovery'', ''Series/StarTrekPicard'' and the forthcoming ''Lower Decks'' and Creator/MichelleYeoh SpinOff.)
** ''WesternAnimation/StarTrekTheAnimatedSeries'' had a low budget that led to it using the main actors as guest actors, so Creator/JamesDoohan and the aforementioned Majel Barrett voiced ''almost every guest character'' across the series' run.
** This happened even outside ''Star Trek''. ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'' started with Creator/JonathanFrakes and Creator/MarinaSirtis as part of the main cast. By the end of the series, minor and recurring characters were voiced by Creator/BrentSpiner, Creator/KateMulgrew, Creator/NichelleNichols, Creator/LeVarBurton, Creator/MichaelDorn, Creator/AveryBrooks, Creator/ColmMeaney, and some others.
*** And it happened again on ''Series/TwentyFour''. Former ''Series/StarTrekEnterprise'' showrunner Manny Coto joined their staff for Season 6; then Creator/BrannonBraga came onboard for Season 7. That same year they had [[Series/StarTrekEnterprise Trip Tucker, Dr. Phlox]] and [[Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration Worf's brother]] in various one- or two-shot guest roles (hapless dock guard, hapless scientist kidnapped by Tony and Sangalan tyrant General Juma, respectively). At least for Season 8 they branched out to some [[Series/BattlestarGalactica2003 hotshot]] [[VideoGame/WingCommander pilots]]...
*** It happened again in, of all places, ''VideoGame/XCOM2'', specifically the 'War of the Chosen' expansion, where several of them were brought in to voice key members of the new ally factions. Michael Dorn had already appeared in the game in one of the ealier [=DLCs=], providing the 'Warrior' voice set for the customisable SPARK robot soldiers, but 'War' not only saw him brought back again as Skirmisher Pratal Mox, but Creator/DeniseCrosby as Skirmisher leader Betos, Marina Sirtis as Reaper Elena Dragunova, Jonathan Frakes as Reaper leader Volk, and Creator/JohnDeLancie as the Templar leader Geist. Game designer Jake Solomon [[https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/6wkiqj/were_the_developers_of_xcom_2_war_of_the_chosen/dm8scfa/ insisted]] that [[ImplausibleDeniability it was a total coincidence that so many members of the cast of one of his favourite TV shows were all cast at once]].
** Likewise, ''Leverage'' had several episodes directed by Jonathan Frakes, and ''Franchise/StarTrek'' alums in recurring or guest roles include Creator/JeriRyan, Creator/WilWheaton, Creator/BrentSpiner, Creator/ArminShimerman and Creator/JohnBillingsley.
** Creator/MichaelDorn once tried to make a film via Website/{{Kickstarter}} called [[http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/akaworf/through-the-fire-life-after-star-trek ''Through The Fire'']]; basically built upon the idea that fans would like to see Dorn, Creator/MarinaSirtis, Creator/NanaVisitor and Creator/ArminShimerman in something together.
* See something made by Creator/SamRaimi?
** Keep your eyes peeled for Creator/BruceCampbell and Sam's own Oldsmobile Delta 88. TedRaimi will usually have a cameo. Older brother Ivan used to co-write a lot of his screenplays as well. He's also cast Creator/LucyLawless in four different series now ''[[Series/HerculesTheLegendaryJourneys Hercules]]'', ''[[Series/XenaWarriorPrincess Xena]]'', ''[[Series/SpartacusBloodAndSand Spartacus]]'' and ''Series/AshVsEvilDead'' as well as a cameo in ''Film/SpiderMan1''.
** And more often than not, Rob Tapert (Lucy Lawless's husband) will handle producing duties.
** [[http://beckerfilms.com/ Josh Becker]], who grew up with Sam, Bruce and co. and made Super8 Films with them in their teens worked on The ''Franchise/EvilDead'' Trilogy and Xena and has used the group in some capacity in all but one of his own Indie Films.
** Joseph [=LoDuca=] has scored the ''Evil Dead'' trilogy as well as [[Series/AshVsEvilDead the TV show]] and many TV series Raimi and Tapert produced (''Hercules'', ''Xena'', ''Series/JackOfAllTrades'', ''Series/{{Cleopatra 2525}}'' ''Series/LegendOfTheSeeker'').
** And cinematography duties are usually handled by Bill Pope, but Raimi has returned to his DP from ''Film/EvilDead2'', Peter Deming from ''Film/DragMeToHell'' and up.
** It appears Creator/JamesFranco is joining the Raimi posse, taking the lead role in ''Film/OzTheGreatAndPowerful'' after appearing in all three films in the ''Film/SpiderManTrilogy''.
* Creator/StevenSpielberg has his AssociatedComposer in Music/JohnWilliams (except for ''Film/TheColorPurple'', his segment of ''Film/TwilightZoneTheMovie'', ''Film/BridgeOfSpies'', and ''Film/ReadyPlayerOne''). He has had the same editor (Michael Kahn) since ''[[Film/CloseEncountersOfTheThirdKind Close Encounters]]'' (''Film/{{ET|The Extraterrestrial}}'' being an exception), and the same cinematographer (Creator/JanuszKaminski) since ''Film/SchindlersList''.
* Creator/RobertZemeckis often casts Creator/TomHanks, who he first worked with on ''Film/ForrestGump''. Zemeckis has declared that Hanks is his "favorite actor" and that "there hasn't been a single situation where we didn't see eye to eye. Not one." In the olden days, he frequently found parts, however minor, for Marc [=McClure=] and Wendie Jo Sperber, who were among the leads of his first professional film ''Film/IWannaHoldYourHand''. Yes, they're Marty's brother and sister in ''Film/BackToTheFuture''. Music/AlanSilvestri has scored every Zemeckis film since ''Film/RomancingTheStone''. He worked with cinematographer Dean Cundey from ''Film/RomancingTheStone'' to ''Film/DeathBecomesHer'' and from there had Don Burgess as his DP from ''Film/ForrestGump'' up to ''Film/CastAway'', after which he went to performance capture, with Burgess returning for ''Film/{{Flight}}''. He's also secured roles (both voice and live-action) for Creator/CharlesFleischer, most famously as the title character in ''Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit''.
* Voice director Jack Fletcher (known for Creator/{{Disney}}'s early dubs of Creator/StudioGhibli films, the numbered ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'' games, ''Anime/TenchiMuyo'' [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Fletcher and more]]) seems to work frequently with certain actors, such as Creator/JohnDiMaggio, Creator/SherryLynn, Matt K. Miller, Creator/DebiDerryberry, Creator/RogerLJackson, and Creator/DwightSchultz. ''Anime/TheAnimatrix'' got some attention from fans of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'' because it featured the entire main cast from the game (the exceptions being Paula Tiso [Lulu] and Creator/GreggBerger [Jecht]), as well as much of the supporting cast.
* Creator/OttoPreminger had poor working relationships with many of his stars (including Linda Darnell, whom he directed in four films), but he still had a few favorite associates:
** ''Film/{{Laura}}'' stars Creator/GeneTierney and Creator/DanaAndrews became Preminger's favorite actors to cast at Creator/TwentiethCenturyFox. Tierney was Preminger's first choice for Lady Windermere in ''The Fan'', but pregnancy prevented her from taking the part. In the 1960s, Preminger brought them back for a minor role in one film each after their lives had deteriorated, Tierney in ''Film/AdviseAndConsent'' and Andrews in ''Film/InHarmsWay''. Both those last two films also featured Creator/BurgessMeredith, who appeared in four other Preminger films.
** Character actor Gregory Ratoff was a good friend of Preminger from his earliest year at Fox, and appeared in three films directed by Preminger; Preminger also played a small part in one film directed by Ratoff.
** Doro Merande played small parts in four Preminger films, and was also in several Broadway flops Preminger directed.
** More closely associated with Preminger than any actor was Creator/SaulBass, who designed the promotional materials and title sequences for most of Preminger's independent productions, including the Broadway plays ''This is Goggle'' and ''Critic's Choice''.
** Max Slater, a friend of Preminger's since his Vienna years, supervised the dialogue on most of Preminger's later films. He was born Maximilian Schulz, but he changed his last name to that of a character he liked in ''Theatre/TheMoonIsBlue''.
** Ben Hecht did screenplays or rewrites for four Preminger films.
** The cinematography of Preminger's films of the late 1940s through the 1960s was usually but not invariably by either Leon Shamroy or Sam Leavitt.
* Directors Zal Batmanglij, Mike Cahill and actress Creator/BritMarling are ''always'' working together, from their first film to their most recent work, ''Series/TheOA''.
* Creator/DavidMamet's posse includes Rebecca Pidgeon (his current wife), Ricky Jay, Creator/WilliamHMacy, Mike Nussbaum, Joe Mantegna, Creator/EdONeill and Jonathan Katz.
* [[JapanesePopMusic EXILE Tribe]] has a huge group of singers, dancers and actors under it's wings and likes to throw them together in productions, whether they're in-house or not. One of their biggest hits, ''Series/HighAndLow'', seemingly got every one in their staff together in the same show. However there are numerous amounts of shows where multiple EXILE members (the ones with good acting ability) show up in shows and movies together. Example shows/movies are are [[https://mydramalist.com/5480-sugarless Sugarless]], [[https://mydramalist.com/13356-wild-heroes Wild Heroes]], [[https://mydramalist.com/30891-jam JAM]], [[https://mydramalist.com/4613-gto-remake-season-1 GTO Remake]], [[https://mydramalist.com/29046-prince-of-legend Prince Of Legend]], and [[https://mydramalist.com/5116-rokudenashi-blues Rokudenashi Blues]].
* Between 1970 and 1978, old school seiyuu Creator/MinoriMatsushima would usually be casted as a titular or leading protagonist for any animated adaptation of Creator/TakashiYanase' works. Such as ''[[Anime/TheKindlyLion Yasashii Lion]]'', ''[[Anime/TheRoseFlowerAndJoe Bara no Hana to Joe]]'', and ''[[Anime/RingingBell Chirin no Suzu]]''. She was also a regular in some of [[Creator/{{Sanrio}} Sanrio Animations]] animated works between 1977 and 1985.
* Creator/BillLawrence has a tendency to give the stars of one of his shows a recurring or guest role in another. For example, ''Series/SpinCity'''s Creator/MichaelJFox, Creator/AlanRuck, Creator/RichardKind, Creator/MichaelBoatman, Creator/AlexanderChaplin, Creator/BarryBostwick and Creator/HeatherLocklear all appeared on ''Series/{{Scrubs}}'' at least once, while ''Series/{{Scrubs}}'' cast members Creator/ZachBraff, Creator/DonaldFaison, Creator/SarahChalke, Creator/JohnCMcGinley, and Creator/NeilFlynn all voice various minor characters on ''WesternAnimation/CloneHigh''.
** Unsuprisingly, Creator/ChristaMiller, his wife, is a particular favorite of his. She has main roles in ''WesternAnimation/CloneHigh'' and ''Series/CougarTown'', a prominent recurring role on ''Series/{{Scrubs}}'', and made guest appearances on two shows Lawrence executive produced: ''Series/{{Undateable}}'' and ''Series/WhiskeyCavalier''.
* In both television and film, Creator/RianJohnson collaborates with cinematographer Steve Yedlin, editor Bob Ducsay, and actors Creator/JosephGordonLevitt and Creator/NoahSegan. Johnson and writer-producer Moira Walley-Beckett also worked closely together on several episodes of ''Series/BreakingBad'', to the point that Walley-Beckett specifically asked for Johnson to direct [[BreakingBadS5E14Ozymandias "Ozymandias"]]; Segan also has an uncredited role as a fireman in that episode.
