* In the ''Literature/TortallAndOtherLands'' short story ''Mimic'', Ri [[SufferTheSlings uses a sling]] on an eagle, but she doesn't actually want to hurt or kill it, just scare it away so it won't hunt one of the lambs or any of the birds her valley has a Compact with. She knows it's just trying to live and is a FriendToAllLivingThings.

* The position of ''{{Literature/Animorphs}}''. In the very first book Tobias gets [[ShapeShifterModeLock permanently trapped as a red-tailed hawk]] and soon goes from eating hamburger left for him by another character to hunting rodents. Cassie, the daughter of a wildlife rehabber who cares for both predators and prey, doesn't want him eating the patients but understands.

Added DiffLines:

* Daine, protagonist of ''Literature/TheImmortals'', can [[SpeaksFluentAnimal talk to animals]] and often pauses to rescue injured wildlife. In the second book she remarks to herself that some of her human friends wonder at how she can stand to hunt, and breezily says that she just numbs her ability to sense them in order to make it fair, and that after all she's a predator herself. However, that's also the book where she unlocks VoluntaryShapeshifting and by the next book CarnivoreConfusion has kicked in, so she can no longer hunt or eat wild animals. She doesn't think less of humans and particularly animals who hunt to feed themselves, though she can find predation upsetting.

* ''WesternAnimation/BrandyAndMrWhiskers'' takes place in a fully SapientEatSapient jungle where every creature is intelligent and has a place on the food chain. More often than not, Mr. Whiskers is saved from such a fate by being too [[TooSpicyForYogSothoth dirty]] for any animal to stomach, such as Isabelle the lizard, but many other side characters are not so fortunate.

* ''WesternAnimation/TimonAndPumbaa'': Like the other two Lion King products, but more slapstick-y. Unlike the others, here we actually see sapient prey eaten on-screen; Faced with a talking insect, Timon sees no issue in trying to eat it regardless, only stopping when he finds out it can sing as well. The three hyenas are comedic characters who unambiguously win their meals at times (Like eating the human director at the end of ''TV Dinner''), and only a select few eaters with other villainous qualities on top of predation (like the Cheetahs and their sadism) are presented as villains to root against.
