* The "[[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHlNkllzL12humJgav9oCQPfYs4Z8mls1 If Halo 2 On Legendary Was Deemed Canonical]]" series is a narrated parody of [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin exactly as the title says]], exploring the potentially mind-breaking insanity that [[Halo2]]'s [[HarderThanHard Legendary difficulty]] induces for most people, hilariously inputting irrefutable facts such as the [[ArtificialStupidy incompetent friendlies]] you have on the missions that has them as well as meme-filled moments galore. A good deal of Halo fans already love it for how it carefully details every mission and just how tough certain parts of each mission are as well as the infamous [[InstakillMook Sniper Jackals]] on said difficulty.

* ''VisualNovel/ChopChopFruitSaladMysteryJamDokiDokiDatingSimTHingy'' is a parody of the DatingSim genre of {{Visual Novel}}s, starring badly edited pictures of fruit as the main characters who all fit into archetypes that are lampshaded and mocked by the narrator, complete with bad grammar and shoehorned UsefulNotes/AnimeFanSpeak.

Another danger is the assumption that the audience is familiar with the subject matter being parodied; extensive parodies have multiple layers of comic gold. This can be shaky ground, depending on the age of your audience, and writers sometimes resign themselves to [[SmallReferencePools broad, widely known characters and situations]]. The problem is that such things have probably already been parodied to death. Enough parodies can cause a shift to that version of the character into becoming the archetype, leading to later subversions of subversions.

* A grand Italian tradition is that of redubbing, which consists in gag dubs of movies ranging from the sketches to full-length movies that may not share the film's plot or premise at all (sometimes with extensive new footage shot). Started with ''Film/{{Star Trek II|The Wrath of Khan}}'' way back in the 1980s, making the gag dub OlderThanTheyThink. Lots of parodies can be found [[http://www.stevenworks.com here]] (naturally in Italian, and many of which are strictly in local dialects).
