Doesn't count, because Xel'Naga as powerful precursors, who might have left all sorts of artifacts, and Zerg no longer even being the biggest threat were established long before Wings of Liberty.

Okay, we get it, you don't like Shonen Upgrade, but this trope is not for complaining about tropes you don't like. Also, get your facrs straight (Ulqiorra is, in fact, the most powerful Arrancar in existence by far, thanks to his second release, which his rank didn't reflect).

(the villain is) "so many standard deviations of power" -> "so many orders of magnitude". Standard deviation has a specific meaning in statistics and using it like this looks very unprofessional to someone in the know.

Eventually, the villain is so many standard deviations of power above the heroes that there's absolutely no chance for them to win with any of the capabilities we know them to have. We all know what's coming: a DeusExMachina. The heroes aren't going to save themselves; the ''author'' is going to save them.
