* The alien ships in ''Film/IndependenceDay''. An interesting bit of FridgeLogic in this one - the ship's center is hovering a teeny bit over the mast of the Empire State Building. That would mean the spaceship was scraping the tops off of the World Trade Center towers.

When the president refuses to listen, he orders the ''Enterprise'' into the atmosphere, and the shocked natives see the starship floating above them, giving them a sense of perspective.

The entire plot of the episode revolves around convincing the OminousFloatingSpaceship not to terraform a resettled civilization out of existence (not that the AI commanding it wants to, it's just too far into the process to start again somewhere else, so stopping would doom the species in hibernation on board).

* In ''VideoGame/KirbyAirRide'', one of the more [[BestLevelEver awesome]] events in City Trial warns you that "A mysterious flying craft is approaching!"[[note]]which is your cue to haul buttcheeks to the volcano to access the Sky Island, and prepare to drop down at the right moment.[[/note]] Then [[MythologyGag the Destrayer]] from ''Anime/KirbyOfTheStars'' slowly flies over the city, making an [[HellIsThatNoise unnerving high-pitched droning noise]] but otherwise doing nothing dangerous at all. On top of it are tons of power-up patches, including ''at least'' one [[InfinityPlusOneSword All Patch]] in the center.
